Entering the ZX age. A refined piece of gear that achieves its purpose. After reading so may Reponses here of happily baked off their ass's customers of achieving their end game ball vape, how its ease of use, powerful hits and is such a taste monster I had to have one too and now that its here and tested, the first ball vape I have ever used, I can really say I do get more than what I was getting out of the Solo3 that I was coming from. Its noticeable the difference of the effects, It makes me want to explore more variety's from the dispensary. It really does hit like combustion, something that I was missing before. The first pull is the big hit and if there is any left its just clean up after that. I used the top position as it came that way and its what I wanted. The micro dose chamber takes less than what I was filling the normal stem for the solo, but I can pull hard, which on the Texas Hot Glass Sherlock Recycler put my user (stoner) experience at a new level. sometimes I used to get frustrated and take a night and combust. to get what I was missing with the solo. There were, for me, some effects missing or focused in just certain areas and just stayed more heady even with Indica, But with the ZX its back, those gotta look for it to notice effects you get from combustion that are totally natural are back and easy to find. I feel "cleaner" using the ZX. The hits are easy to take, it makes you want to pull harder on the recycler too. Its a total win for me.

I just ordered a Auber pid off the bay. I can see this pid as the perfect mate for the ZX, the rotary dial for the temps will be great combined with the Z's response times to temp changes. The pid ryan sells if fine, and its at a great price. I think I need to go into the setting so I can temp change in increments of 5 so I can change temps faster. if we can do that.

If the world ends today and no one can get ball vapes anymore, as long as there is still electricity I'll be set. Happily getting baked as the world goes through its changes. Micro dosing is where its at. Get slammed in elegance and style while preserving your stash is the way to go. While discovering new tastes.

Go Z Tribe,
I hear this! I have been using my zx in the micro dose setting with a prophet and it is endgame for me for the 20-50mg doses I like. I travel a lot for weeks at a time so I actually just bought another zx rather than faff around trying to get the same capabilities from a different setup while on the road.

The Auber is my favorite PID if you get the smart switch compatible firmware. My zx basically sits at the same temp except for experimenting so I use a CH pid at home and P3 pid on the road since the XLR comes out the front which is useful to me while traveling.

Couple weeks in and the ZX is still my favorite. Still using with an Auber controller, but have refined the correction factor to 1.45 with the coil it came with. Brought out the Epitome, Screwball, and Omega for some comparisons and the ZX is always the one left plugged. In it's stock form, it has the perfect draw resistance. I tried some 3mm faceted and 2mm round rubies just for giggles, but the stock seems to feel best. Just enough resistance to get a slight vacuum going in your glass. It's the smallest, lightest, and easiest to handle of everything I've used thus far and all that concentrated airflow through the 12mm bore, it just obliterates material like nothing! I usually use a fine grind with my diffusers, but even a course grind gets cashed out quickly with the ZX. I might try a small layer of faceted gems at the bottom just to even out the airflow a bit, but I don't want to mess with the draw too much.

Now, onto probably an unpopular opinion... I'm not into the bowl. It sure makes for a stunning combo, and the straight through bore with the head on is <chef's kiss>! But it's way too awkward to handle with my giant hands when I'm high as hell. Replacing the o-ring handles with these hookah grommets help quite a bit, but it's still too awkward especially in a dark room. The screens take too much fiddling to get seated perfectly (I change screens a LOT), and good luck trying in dim lighting! The dark colour of the zirconia also hides crud (good for some, but not for me). I've since switched back to using a 14mm to 18mm, female to male glass adapter with a 20mm screen pushed in. Purity wise, it's an extra inch or two of borosilicate glass with a similar stainless screen. And if you find the right adapter, the ZX will sit just as snugly as with the stock bowl.

Now, back to another positive, airflow and concentrates! The fast airflow works amazingly well with every concentrate I threw at it, including hash! I find small amounts, a concentrate one hitter if you will, is ideal. The high airflow will push larger viscous concentrate loads right through vape cotton. Hash however, I can load up quite a bit and puff for ages! Just a layer of vape cotton on the bottom of the bowl and you're good to go. No swabbing required! Next bowl, just throw out the cotton, and replace with a new layer. Fantastic!

I also leave my controller set to a constant temperature. When I want a flavor session over 10-15 minutes (hanging out at a campfire), that's when the Solo comes out. I have an Auber, but genuinely as long as your coil gets hot and the temp stays constant you are good to go.

I think earlier in the thread @invertedisdead stated he used ISO-resistant rings. I just ISO the barrel so minimal-if-any contact to the o-rings.
