OK! I am out of town for a week but before leaving I got a day to test out the new ZX in the context of microdosing. TLDR the ZX is amazing for microdosing. You all already knew that, I did not.
@El Duderino I would be curious to know how the ZX meets your microdosing needs!
Here are 5 piles of AVB. All were vaped at 565F, one hit extraction with a cleanup hit. On the top row are my initial tests, just using my microdosing scoop. Since some vape designs fall apart with small loads, I started with approx a 50-60mg load, then a 25-30mg load. both vaped to the same shade, so I went ahead and busted out the scale for science. In the bottom row are three piles: 10mg, 25mg, 50mg. In my microdosing experiments 25/50mg seems to be a good single/double dose for me, but I wanted to be able to vape down to the resolution of my scale because science. You can see that the 10mg pile is the the same shade as the biggest pile at the same temperature. To me this shows the strength of the ZX design. It will be a week before I can play with it again but from my first day of testing the ZX is everything people say it is for microdosing. The only other device that I have that will vape down to 10mg while still delivering a satisfying ohe is my Tempest.
For reference, here are the before and after bowl shots for each of the three weighed tests. Pardon the funky angles. I used a high CRI 219B 4500K flashlight to get the most accurate color reproduction and working with the light, phone, and shadows was a bit challenging:
