Maybe a bit nuanced but I'm noticing certain things about the ZX Vape sig. I love the high this thing produces. Potent and clean. Even when preheating the bowl for some conduction, you get this clean stoney effect. There is a pronounced lack of mental muddyness.

Also in the way I use the ZX provides a fantastic high. I half fill the bowl, and do high temp (600f) one hit snaps. When using the ZX I'm hitting these bowls periodically for hours. A whole afternoon, or throughout the day. This slowly builds a wonderful, potent, layered clear high thay lasts and lasts, yet doesn't descend into any form of grogginess.

The lack of grogginess was made more clear to me recently when taking my 18mm coiled QC for a spin with 0.3g whole nug bowls. The QC gives a potent full spectrum high. But when the high starts wearing off there is a grogginess that makes me want to refrain from further cannabis use.

EDIT - Sorry for using QC as a point of comparison. My aim is to describe a differentiation in the ZX signature. Not to put the QC down. I love my coiled QC. They are very different vapes with different usage cases and signatures. I don't wish to spark a discussion on which vape is superior. I just need a point of reference.

Yeah they’re definitely completely different devices but I’m pretty familiar with the concept.

I made a DIY thread when I experimented with coiled vaponic spin offs some 5 years ago.

The ZX definitely has that pure and powerful convection clairvoyance. Still wins my reach test 2 years later!

Though I will say the ZX can definitely put me to sleep over time when dancing on the higher side of the hill. The hardest part of that is finding truly stony herb in the current polyhybridized market IMHO.

I think a lot of it is because I started vaping in 2012 with just pure convection (Vapor Bros, then Volcano ) so that convection cleanliness is the strong high I often see attribute to using a vaporizer.

Conduction is something I generally prefer for dabs.

But I understand a lot of people these days are coming from Mighty’s or Dyna’s; so for them that heavy conduction is what they know as the vapor experience. That’s why future designs will incorporate more conduction, but the ZX, as my “personal vaporizer design” remains essentially 100% pure convection “hot air extraction” in operation.

For enthusiasts from my entry period, pure convection in a clean inert package was long believed to be the desktop holy grail.

Yeah if I crank up the heat, and pre heat the bowl before adding the herb, then waiting 30 seconds before the hit I get conduction effects. But even while my eyelids are heavy and I'm experiencing heavy body sedation, the ZX retains a clarity of mind imo. ZX has maybe my favourite signature of all time.

I just placed a pre-order for the ZXXL. One quick question.
Will the new ZXXL require screen changes? I did not see the option to add additional screens to my pre-order.
Thanks for your time!

Thanks so much for your order, excellent timing too, I believe there's just a single ZXXL kit left!

The ZXXL will ship with 50+ additional bowl screens so I didn't add an option on there.

Thanks a ton for rocking with the Z Team!!!

Lately I'm back down at lower temperatures, but for maximum conduction assistance with higher temp one hitters I occasionally like to add the herb in while the bowl is preheating.

By design even at maximum operating temps it will never get hot enough to vaporize the herb by itself, but it will add a little preheat into the load and the bowl for an even faster dense white out, one hit extraction.

Has anyone figured out how to set some favourite temps on the PID that comes woth the ZX? Would be great to be able to cycle through some presets. Or does anyone know if it's possible
Has anyone tried the ZX with a 10 mm rig (recycler or not)? Does it work as well as the 14 mm or is the performance and airflow too reduced?
I know it depends a lot from rig to rig and there is a lot more to it than joint size.
I tried to attempt it, but I don't have a 14mm to 10mm reducer. I use thr ZX dry in a really small dry sake bottle rig, and it rocks. Airflow is great and cooling is enough.

10mm pieces don't suffer for lack of airflow, as it is usually less work on our lungs. Same logic as how a j-hook takes much less effort that a large bong. So the question is will there be enough cooling. Depending on how small the 10mm piece is. For me it would work no problem but I like to half fill the ZX bowl.

This. It'll work fine depending on the rig/recycler. I don't run my ZX very high (420-480) but cooling is no problem with small rigs.

Here is a pic of what I use 100% of the time with the ZX. I always run it dry. I run it high at 600f with half bowl, and around 550f with full bowl. Both very comfortable.

Hopefully this will give you an idea of how your 10mm piece will work, as the Sake bottle is smaller than most 14mm pieces.

I'm very happy to see this thread keep growing, and the word about Phase3 getting out there in the cannabis vaping community. Every time I use my ZX, I ask myself, why aren't these more popular? It's such a great little vape. Thank you @invertedisdead for creating these awesome tools.
I tried the @RedZep setup of the ZX in a dry biao.t sake bottle yesterday and liked it a lot. Remarkably cool and excellent flavor.

The anticipation mounts.

Reading about the qualities of the ZX, which seem like a bespoke device for my tastes (thanks Ryan), makes the wait time fun.

Looking forward. No pressure. LOL

I think you're safe mate. I don't recall ever seeing someone dissatisfied at the ZX. It just crushes what it was designed to do. I'm sure you will love it.

:science: The little mini tubes have great flavor, I particularly like mine for concentrates too.

What’s up Z tribe! I recently preordered the ZXXL and am excited to experience it! I am curious about if the zirconium, being heavier than titanium, will affect setup stability.

Here’s what I’m planning to use:

GooRoo HD3-> GooRoo Dry Ashcatcher-> Vgoodiez Pass Through-> ZXXL

Does this sound stable? Have any of you tried a similar configuration, or do you have tips to optimize stability? I’d appreciate any insight or suggestions. Thanks!

Based on the ZXL you should be in fine shape. It is heavy, and it has a satisfying chunk! when it all fits together. I have a feeling we're gonna love this.
