ZX makes good contact with the coils even with the zip tie at the top. ZX is relatively long, and still hangs out the bottom of the coil. I didn’t even have to turn up the heat when I went wireless
Yeah if you keep the coil pretty tight it stays close to the wired temps for sure. And I think the ball chamber covered by the handle is not a problem because it's above the coil and getting a lot of heat that way. The Chaos has a large section outside, but above the coil, and still heats very evenly.

^^ that was my method too.

Interesting so many have gone wireless with the zx. Do you all go for one hit extractions? Mine is still set up like it but I'm thinking about having the z8 in the wireless coil because it has a slightly larger media chamber, and putting the zx back in the z8 coil. Having used the ZXL wired a lot recently I am now certain that there isn't enough ooomph at the temps I use for a satisfying clean up hit. My head has dropped between 30 and 40 degrees f after the first rip (according to coil temp on PID), so inside the head must have lost significantly more.

I mean wireless is nice and all, but in my situation the wires don't really get in the way and I think the experience isn't as good for the way I use the vape with a full zbowl every time.

I also wanted a wireless ZX, but changed my mind.
I tried two wireless ballvapes, and found this setup less precise than wired mode.
So a wireless ZX no longer interests me today.
But if this new quartz vape is wireless like in Ryan's videos, I would be happy to buy it.
For tasting sessions 🤤

Love to see the engaging conversation, cheers everyone

First off, good news, ZX ceramics have been rebuilt and are finally completed!

I'm not exactly sure if they were sent out last night or not, I might hear back on that this evening.
This means ceramics will be landing soon, which means some real progress is finally being made.
Super excited to wrap these pending orders up, I know this ones been pretty drawn out so thank you all for your patience and cooperation ❤️

Trying to find a new shipping solution and cue the future wait times down.

A wireless ZX would be awesome. And no I'm not talking about the hack from discord to make it work as a wireless setup.

Could come whenever as the design is pretty much done; but I'm thinking of doing this new quartz vape first, as more people seem to resonate with and associate glass with this "ultra pure" motif I'm after.

Zirconia has proven to be an excellent material for the things I've been making, but I do think there's a lack of familiarity of it on a wider scale, especially when other companies rename it to stuff like "Shinju" to add obscurity.

Yeah if you like reallyyyy low temp terp taster hits the wireless was always harder to achieve that, when I started PHASE3 back in 2022 my first product release was originally going to be a wireless ball vape based on my SCVW, but I ultimately decided to do the corded Z8 first as I figured it was more versatile with zero downtime group session compatibility and increased low temperature stability for terp surfing on the bottom end.

Cordless stuff falls out of that real low end range super quick compared to something constantly receiving power.

The main reason I haven't released a wireless upgrade kit for the ZX it because it was originally designed with reduced mass to allow faster heatup from cold and between temperature changes than other ball vapes. This is especially impressive for being such a heavy insulator material.

To achieve that, it's actually slightly underrated, and leverages the thermal mass of the heating coil itself for temperature stability. :sherlock:
That said it's super cool to see friends on here are having success with and enjoying the ZX as-is as a true wireless option which I think is super cool.

Even though I'm always late to my own party, I have some new ideas for wireless ZX's for increasing their temperature stability so stay tuned for that Z-Team

Maybe it’s the way I use it. I don’t like to pack deep bowls with the ZX. I like to fully extract small amounts in about 3 hits, usually ending with a light brown roast. I avoid anything that feels harsh on the throat

I don't care too much about temp precision with full convection devices, as there are so many variables in the draw which will influence the temp of the air hitting the herb. I just dial it in by taste and touch.

I guess I don’t really push the limits of the heater, which might be why it works so well for me wireless. There’s something intangible about wireless that I enjoy. And I feel that setting / vibes / details have a big influence on the overall experience. To each their own

Yippee. I--for one--am all about the low-temp terpys hits myself.

I am unfortunately (but somewhat predictably) between addresses at the moment, so let's definitely coordinate the delivery plan.

I'm also okay with wired, as I don't need some senile old fucker (including myself) wandering off and creating a fire. I've had enough of fires in my life. LOL.

Getting excited.

With the ZXXL wireless about to release/ship out, will we be seeing any function videos of it in use? :brow:

Really looking forward to receiving my ZXXL. I think it will pair really well with my ZX. Using the ZX as a daily driver and ZXXL being the heavy hitter.

That's a solid lineup for sure

I'll definitely try and post one when I'm back in California to mail these orders out, I don't currently have any 18MM glass with me right now in my small place!

The cordless freedom is an enjoyable feeling, for me it sort of brings me back to my early Volcano days with the whole desktop base station + cordless hits kind of concept.

At times I do feel a bit of regret for not starting PHASE3 with my original wireless design from 2022, but at least I know these concepts and ideas are valid.

I still consider myself a passionate member of this vape community way before being a seller of anything, so I don't really put much effort into marketing, advertising, and genuinely trying to sell stuff. At this point I just make cool stuff for enthusiasts searching for the best. But I know the business could be a lot more.

Plenty of goals to work towards, as always I appreciate everyone following along and supporting in my work!
Much love to the entire univerZe

Cheers friend I can't wait to get all these pending orders mailed out!

It's subjective I suppose but I do consider the wired units "safer" in that if a unit is accidentally dropped you can easily pick it up by the cord.

You're definitely due for some serious combustion-free enjoyment,

Take care :leaf:

Given the imminent arrival of the ZXXL, I thought I'd offer up my old quartz 1.7 up to someone in the thread with the number of P3 enthusiasts here. I don't use it too often these days, mostly due to changing circumstances and a significant reduction in my flower intake. It can be yours if you cover shipping costs and fees to your location from Canada. No bowl or PID though, just the head, coil and handle. edit: Claimed!

I picked up on this from you when I joined FC recently and is a big part of why I jumped on the phase3 train! I'm chuffed for my incoming zx and learn just by watching you all discuss things.

Regarding scaling the business, I think how someone does something is as important as why and what. I think I would find that enthusiast and community vibe far more pleasant and rewarding than the running an empire maximizing profits vibe.

Super rare little piece of vaping history!

Not sure how many of those are still left, that could potentially be the only remaining one!? :ninja:
