the stuff they recommend (pg? stuff they use in ecigs?)dissolves in water (vapor is water)dries up and turns sticky. this stuff is heat resistant food safe doesn't dry up so your mouthpiece will never stick .ohh btw its fda approved used in coffee ,soda, ice cream machines and alot more .

Just layered an oven - peppermint > hash > peppermint. Medium setting. Wow, it was so smooth, I actually had to check the vapour afterwards to make sure it was working. They were nice, big clouds.

Definitely a creeper, been about 15 minutes now and the high is all in the head. Sativa charas might have helped that along :p

I love the Pax!

Update: My face is now numb.

Okay so I received my PNWT and now have to test it with the Pax, because I dont have a Pinnacle lol
I'm only up to the pre setup. Heres how I connected using the 1/2" ID, 5/8" OD tubing with the PonG. You can use more/less tubing per your likeness. Video of it all in action to be posted this morning/afternoon. :)

Does anyone have a definitive screen size that can be used as a spacer? I remember seeing some posts (and maybe even a video?) about using a pipe screen but nothing about a size that was used. I was thinking 1" maybe?

At my LHC they sell the pax so it was pretty easy to find a screen that almost fit. I said almost because I had to shave off about 1mm the get a perfect fit. It is about 22mm in length. Still loving the pax and I always use a screen at the bottom.

Up untill now I still couldn't get my screen to stay stuck in the oven, I tried about everything, even vaping extra :smug: so I could blow the vapor in the pax oven, trying to get it more sticky with resin, I tried 3 new screens, a few old ones, reversing, bending, nothing worked.
So I took a mesh screen, about 1 cm diagonal, rolled it up and stuck it in the tube. I let about 2 mm of the screen roll sticking out of the tube and flattened it so it was "flush" with the oven.
(vape4health wrote about that a while ago)
Now I don't have a pax screen but the rolled up screen and my pax works brilliantly, I'm not sure if I gonna need to clean the pax more often or less.

Another tip for some : one of my pax has the temp light issue and when I wiggle the mp, it switches to
heating.
When this happens, I take the tip of a toothpick, break it off and push it between the pax and the mp
(while open) on the side that needs to be pushed, this creates a constant "pushing" force and my pax stays green untill I have to give up.:)

Dear Fellow Potheads,
I am purchasing a portable vape within the next two weeks and I would appreciate some first-hand experience please.
1) I need to know which portable vaporizer is BEST in terms of vapor smoke smell.
(Best being the least smelliest)
I live in a one-bedroom apartment that I just moved into and I would like to smoke out my kitchen window.
Can someone be so kind as to advise how badly their portable vaporizer smells in comparison to a blunt, a joint, a desktop vaporizer, etc.?

Thanks a bunch!

really depends on what your planning to vape and the temp you vape at they all will smell when you exhale but unlike smoke wont stain the walls .

you could always buy a small charcoal filter with a fan or a ozone purifier there a bit more but works really well.

in comparison to a blunt? smoke you smell from far away vapor you need to be close to smell it
vapor just dissolves in the air you could vape all day and night with windows closed .

and well needs to cling to something before it goes away.if you ever gone into a smokers house and can smell cigs just from the tar on the walls so gross.

you could get really good at cooking had a friend who always had chili cooking in his slow cooker lol its all you could smell

What a thread! I've been reading this thread for seemingly forever...and have only made it to the 100th page (of a 400 page thread). THANKS for all the time folks have spent to educate regarding the PAX.

I had to post now that I've had the PAX for approx. 5 days. I'm a middle aged guy...always had a penchant for the good utencils...dugouts, bingers, proto pipe (I know old school right), Monkey Pipe, Fishermans Friend....and the list goes on. Well....this PAX is a serious game changer. Combustion is now a thing of the past for me. I have never...in all my years...found a more efficient, well made, highly functional smoking utencil.

I've read the problems/gripes with the PAX thoroughly in the first 100 pages...I find the minor issues to be predominantly user manageable and minor.

My medication needs are light....frequent but light. Interestingly I hear lots of talk about "big clouds" and "tightly packed ovens" etc. etc. This may be great for those that need.....but I love the PAX for different reasons. Ya...I can pack a big oven and go for days with it by just reheating....but I prefer to just toss some ground product in the oven....and go. Never fails....perfect dark brown ABV....tap it out....pocket it...good to go. For my purposes....battery is MORE than adequate. I wouldn't change a single thing about the PAX. If you can "love" an inanimate object....then I love my PAX.

I was REALLY hesitant about spending $250 on this thing. The price is HIGH to say the least. Now I wouldn't sell it to you for $300 :)

I might be stating the obvious here, but now that I vape with my pax without the screen, I feel like my abv comes out much darker (I start at orange and finish on red, normally when most vapor is gone) after a session, with that comes, in my opinion, bigger clouds or must I say, EVEN bigger clouds because this thing
is a steamboat already.
All in all, I think I'm gonna like my pax even more without the screen, but lets talk again in a few weeks.

Well I posted over in the PNWT thread but heres the Pax and PNWT together. This thing was a pain in the ass to make a video without my head taking up the whole shot, so yeah. lol
I also cut the tubing on the PonG adapter so now it doesnt wobble wobble when I hold it

Hi I just bought a pax and I have two questions

1. Do i have to fill my Pax oven up all the way to use or can I use just a small amount of bud?

2. If I only want to take a few hits can I leave the bud in the Pax and smoke it later?

No, but filling is preferred, for me at least. Others may speak differently if they use a screen to compensate for the less bud.

2. If I only want to take a few hits can I leave the bud in the Pax and smoke it later?
Yes you can but it will still heat the load a bit after you shut it off so next time it wont be so tasty of a hit.

Found the perfect tamping tool for the Pax. Fits in nice and snug when packing down, then the other thinner end is surprisingly good for mixing/stirring.

You can buy it here (for the UK folks):

http://www.everyonedoesit.co.uk/online_headshop/iolite-hand-tool.cfm?iProductID=8864

All you need to use is a nail clipper; the dirt removing part. It's skinny enough, and with a point, that you can finely turn it and not just move the product around.

On an unrelated note, I just bought the car charger and I can't wait for it to get here.

All you need is a power inverter they start at about half the price of those ,

on an unrelated note the Iolite tool does work very for packing and pushing the screen down.
that being said shadowdjinni what you smoking? you are able to use the file to pack? not grinding first?

Well considering I didn't buy my Pax from Ploom, I want to buy as many products from them officially to support the product maker. I grind it first, pinch a bit and put it in the trench, then use the file to pack it down. It also does work for adjusting the screen too after cleaning. I just personally prefer the dirt cleaner/filer instead of a blunt object because a smaller tip allows me for more precise turning to get the max surface area of the ground item inducted.

i would advice caution on the ploom charger if yours isn't a ploom.when you get it compare output with your plug in unit.
you could cause damage to your pax .(most of them use different batteries between 1800-3000 mAh the pax by ploom is a 2600mAh .)
these are plooms charger specs if you compare with yours see if the are the same.

input : ac 100-240v 50-60hz 0.28A
output : dc 9v 1.9A
