when i first got the pax few things really bothered me first was the screen with no holes
simple fix i found was too cut titanium razor foil in shape of old screen .

second was the lube it was water base and made no sense to me when dries it becomes sticky and really not into using ky on my pipes lol.so i got my lube i use on my coffee machine hi temp food safe works great last was the mouth piece connection i noticed there was no o ring and found one to fit no vapor loss there now .that part will never need cleaning again.with these mods i can use honey oil smeared on the walls of the oven pack full herb and really haven't had to clean yet, mouth piece doesn't get stuck airflow is still good.

I guess I'm not understanding your question, but to connect to my water tube I used 1/2" ID 5/8" OD tubing.

A couple posts up JoeKickAss shows how to connect to a 18mm to 14mm adapter using the same tubing.

So I think the answer is 1/2 ID 5/8 OD tubing, and a 14mm to 18mm connector. That way you can use 14mm or 18mm.
Thank YOU 2Paces

the lube i use is a food safe lubricant type used on automatic coffee machines(bean to cup) its hi temp impervious to water tasteless and odorless this is key only use a little than i wipe it .just like vid but use this lube instead . it doesn't dry out ,freeze or melt.

razor foils well any will work(cost is $9 to $30)search micro screen razor foil replacements i used the titanium one the holes seemed finer and well its titanium lol.(won't rust etc) you can make many depending the foil size.

use old screen to mark foil than cut with wire cutter or tin snips.
(this increases airflow greatly and keeps it from clogging )

now if you use oil just smear on the oven walls place herb in your good to go.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
(I don't suggest trying o ring idea unless your changing the battery you may need to take it apart to remove) but it needs to be same width as the tip and slide up and down freely (lube helps here too)
---------------------------------------------------------------

a volcano liquid pad can also be cut in the same size of the screen use two this can get kinda messy
if just using one.(place oil on first one second clean one goes on top or use herb)

If you own a Pax you owe it to yourself to pick up a Pinnacle Water Tool for $50 while their sale is on. Just get yourself some hosing and a 14mm male/male adapter.

Details on the sale are in the Pinnacle Plus thread.

im really interested in this but i've never tried something like this, so i dont really understand the necessity for the tubing?

i've got the attachment and adapter in my cart about to be purchased, but im not sure how to figure out how to set it up?

You need either an 19 or 14mm to 14mm male/male adapter because the input of the tube is 14mm. I chose 14-19 because of the versatility. You need the piece of silicone tubing to slip one end over the a Pax mouthpiece and one end over the adapter. Now you can use your Pax with any water piece out there.

Hey guys, I've had my PAX for about a month now and it works great. Last night though, after cleaning my PAX, I can't get to the oven screen back into place.

I've never had issues with the oven screen, before last night. The screen looks fine, it's not bent or damaged in anyway. I know that it is supposed to sit lopsided in the oven, but now when I go to press it into place in the oven, whichever side I first press down on the other side will snap back up and the screen will sit very loosely. If I ever get it to finally sit securely and load it with green, as soon as I turn it over it all falls out of place and I have to try packing it down again.

Any suggestions? I ordered replacement screens in case it's my screen, but as I mentioned, my screen is perfectly flat straight and squeaky clean.

Keep calm and vape on
On my screen there is a slight bend on one end. I don't think it's supposed to be perfectly flat.

Hey guys, I've had my PAX for about a month now and it works great. Last night though, after cleaning my PAX, I can't get to the oven screen back into place.

I had the same issue after owning my Pax for almost a year. I actually e-mailed Ploom, but they didn't offer any advice other than the usual placement instructions & if I wanted to send it to them they would look at it. I had extra brand new screens when it happened, but they didn't solve the problem (the screens come perfectly flat when new, not bent).

After about a week of use the problem solved itself. I believe it was because some resin built up and gave the screen something to 'stick to', but I'm not sure. So my suggestion is to use the Pax for a while even though it can be annoying. It may fix itself.

It only happened to me one time when I really cleaned the oven super clean. I spent a lot of time so it looked just like new. Since the problem happened I have cleaned it, but not tried to get it as shiny as new. I haven't had the screen issue since.

Thanks for the advice! I just used it about 30 mins ago and the screen seems to be sitting firmly in the oven. Hopefully it stays that way! I kinda regret ordering the extra screens, but I guess it's better to have them in case I ever misplace the screen.. I actually have misplaced it a couple of times. I'm usually pretty baked with everything sitting in my lap and I'll forget I have disassembled my PAX and will send the small parts flying across the room when I get up lol /high life struggles

We're here to fuck shit up.
Just use the notches in the oven.

Seriously though. Flip it upside down. I just flip the screen every time I clean the screen and oven. So far, it's done the trick to solve the "jumping screen" problem.

Save your rolling eye emoticon, dude. Because I needed help answering a question doesn't warrant a douche response.
Read through the thread new guy. Maybe you'll understand the eye rolling then.

Also, read the actual advice I gave you.

Off to a great start. Read more and post less. If you did that, you would have read about this already known issue and you would have also read about the solution for it.

Sorry, my post bothered you so much! And who wants to read through 397 pages? I have read many, sir. I only finally registered after not finding an answer while skimming through.

Onionkid the thing about the notches is a joke. There has been a silly argument about whether or not the pax has notches in the oven, because some people apparently are convinced there are.

Any suggestions? I ordered replacement screens in case it's my screen, but as I mentioned, my screen is perfectly flat straight and squeaky clean.

When you cleaned this time did you take extra resin off the outer walls of the trench? This happened to me and it didn't fit in place. What I had to do was smoke a few at home, get a little resin on the sides and while turning it every time I had to dump it out beforehand because the screen would go the way of yours. The problem seems to come and go now. With 3 different screens, as I also bought a replacement pack too, it's never a screen new/bentness issue; it's how much resin is in there to keep it in place.

A second quick fix, but you'll get less air at first, is to put the screen in with the middle as the indented part (instead of the end opposite to the air hole). This causes it to stay in place while turning it with light pressure, massive pressing will still cause it to pop out.

Hope this helps, sorry if it's hard to read; I'm a bit inebriated at the moment.

Edit: I see, after reading the responses after this post, that you figured out the problem. I would definitely not fret about the extra screens. Just imagine driving, dumping your finished load out (with no banging on the side of the car, merely turning it over), and having the screen fall out. Happened to me... glad I had spares at home and only had to go a work shift without it and not a few days while I waited for shipping.

2nd edit: Yall other two should quit your bickering and enjoy more PAX.

Save your rolling eye emoticon, dude. Because I needed help answering a question doesn't warrant a douche response.

If a post offends you, do not respond, use the Report link at the bottom of the post. In this case, the report would have been rejected. As BlazedRunner said, the emoticon is not directed at you, it is sarcasm in the context of the thread. Even if it were meant for you, however, it is not worth taking offense by it. It is not nearly as offensive as implying someone is a douche. Our rule is:
  • All members must be treated in a respectful and adult manner. All members should respect and adhere to the promotion of harmony within the community. Do not attempt to disrupt the community in any way.
You should not break this rule even if you believe the other person is. Since you are new I'm not giving you a point, but you've used up your free pass.

By the way, here's something else from the rules:
  • Read threads before posting in them. Thread rules may be outlined in the first post.
This means you should read at least enough to be familiar with the thread before posting.

So, after skimming and not finding your answer, you ask the question, get an answer, misinterpret a member's post and then call that member a douche because you don't feel like reading.

Welcome to FC, OnionKid. You're welcome for the advice.

Don't provoke flames. If you think you've been insulted, report the post.

Was it not a few months ago that someone from here asked about authorized retailers and the CS rep wouldn't give them a list or confirm/deny whether or not their particular one was?
