It actually has four temp settings which seems to be a lot of flexibility in the portable vape market. Maybe the solo has a touch more flexibility but imo it is way way way way less portable.
4? you have the "prototype" blue light ?

Here's my contribution to the "new dream features for the Pax" that I'd love to see!!

A little spinner in the oven that you could activate with a small button on the outside, to "stir" the flower midway through a session!

Hey, a girl can dream, right?? :D

We're here to fuck shit up.
The only things they should change is how you turn it on and off and the location of the temp switch. Add one sealed and slightly recessed button on the outside of the body somewhere with two functions. Three short presses to turn on, one 3-4 second long press to turn off, and short presses while on to change the temperature. Keep the mouthpiece retractable, but don't have it affect function in any way. The recessed button and quick succession of button presses to turn on will help to keep it from turning on in your pocket by accident. I don't think this change would be overly difficult to pull off while keeping the basic design the same.

Yes and I like your functional spec on this also. An external switch stylishly done would really make this a lot more bulletproof.

Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a while and i really want to thank you all for the quality of the forum. I've thought to make my firt post here because I know there's a lot complains about the pax beeing a hog (which is actally true) and i wanted to share my remedy, which i find to work really fine. I don't know if this has been already fully covered cause i haven't read all the thread. What i do is i simply use a normal pipe screen molded to fit the oven that act as a spacer.
I know videos are always welcomed, so here it is.

Hi.. Cool Video BTW..

But I have several questions..

1. So what exactly does the screen do? I know you said its a spacer but how does that help?

2. And it looked like you got about 5 good hits off it.. Which is impressive for that small amount. I fill mine up to the top of the bowl and then press it down in the bowl lightly to where my Herb is just below the top of the bowl. I can get about 10 good hits and then I stir the bowl and get about 10 more good hits.. So about 20 total.. Which for the amount of Herb I use dont seem like much to me for 20 good hits.. I like doing this as I only have to load one time and stir one time to get a session of 20 hits.. AND this one session does me and I am done.. :)

3. Do you stir the way you do it or since the amount you use is so small you dont have to?

I will try your way.. Looks interesting.. But I really never thought of my PAX as a Hog.. I use about the same amount in my Solo and my T1 and about 3/4 that amount when I use to use my MFLB so to me the PAX dont seem like a big hog compared to others...

Hi Kuroth1!

1. The screen keeps the herb tightly in contact with the bottom screen and the sides of the oven allowing the heat exchange to happen, and also act a little bit as a heat exchanger itself (i think a brass screen should work even better). Without it you can't efficiently vape less then what's needed to fill the oven up.

2. I didn't finish the session in the video, that was like 2/3 of it . You can easly get 9/10 good rips from about 0.1g (without turning it on hi, which i never do), especially if you start on low temp.

3. With such small amount you don't need to stir, you will have a pretty even abv.

Anyway the only reason i consider the Pax a bit of a hog is because it doesn't allow you to use little amount (without this screen trick), making conservation not that easy.
But form when i started using the screen i can have 3/4 sessions per day consuming no more then 0.5 g and that helped me a lot to lower my tollerance.

ps. sorry for any grammar or words mistake , i'm from italy

That is one nice trick! I've tried it the pax several times and found that using it by myself, it does take a lot to fill up the oven and it's actually wasting my flowers. What is the size of the screen?I'm looking on ebay and found a bunch. Much appreciated...........

How are you wasting flower? The biggest benefit I and many others have found in here for the pax is how efficient it is with small loads. Pack it tight against the screen, I made a tamper with a spent visa gift card, I cut a strip off the same width as oven, and bent it up at a 90 degree angle, cut it again the other width of the oven. A little trimming and it fits perfect, or use the lid as suggested, it doesn't get the corners very good but still does the trick. Others have made tools (I think welder boy did, can't remember) Bottom line if you think its wasting bud you aren't using it right:D

I guess I have been filling the whole oven and packing it really tight. I will try a smaller packed load once I find out if I am getting this next job or not.

Shpooding Time.
I try to not fill it past half way, when I fill it to the top I feel a lot more compelled to stir it, and the last half of the bowl is meh anyway, so two birds with one stone filling it half way.

if it had a touchscreen like an ipod nano that would be killer

I don't see the point of that on a vape, plus you'd have to be EXTREMELY careful of where you touch/hold it as you would constantly be turning it on/off/up/down etc everytime you accidentally touched the screen. That's one feature I hope they never do, and doubt they will for all the problems it would cause that I just mentioned. A touch screen makes no sense whatsoever on a device that only has 2 buttons to begin with. Touch screens make sense when they can replace a large number of buttons.

The only things they should change is how you turn it on and off and the location of the temp switch. Add one sealed and slightly recessed button on the outside of the body somewhere with two functions. I had headphones that worked like that (click button for this, hold it 2 seconds for that, 5 seconds for that, double click for that, hold it 2 seconds while doing this for that, etc.). I ended up throwing them as it was an absolute nightmare to even just figure how to do on and off. You'd literally have to study the manual for hours and hours to even begin remembering some of the functions.
I also don't like wasted time, and forcing you to hold a button for several seconds for an often used feature like "on" is really annoying, it's one of my biggest annoyances of the Solo.

No way the battery would drain even faster.. use a torch fellow stoner.. LOL

An LED light would take about 1% the power the oven does, battery life would be virtually exactly the same, even if it stayed on all the time during use. I don't really think it's a great idea anyway, is it that hard to turn on the light or use another light source?

I'm not talking about headphones with multiple functions, I'm talking about one button with two purposes, power and temp change. Do you prefer the current setup of a button under the mouthpiece and the mouthpiece being the switch? Personally, I think the current setup is a shitty design. If you would have a hard time remembering to push the button three times to turn it on then I don't know what to tell you. I dont think it's very tough to remember and it is how most oil pens work. Your time must be extremely valuable if holding a button for three seconds is a major annoyance. Do you happen to have any ideas on how to improve the design?
