it's a starter bowl the 2nd day, it tastes ok.

I like that it can hold enough for multiple sessions. If I remember my early volcano days I used to fill it at least half way and it would last me 2-4 days!

I can't wait to get my Pax, hopefully in the next few days.

For those that tried the Pax and Solo, how restrictive is the airflow compared to the Solo? I have one of the first Solos made if that matters, the airflow is very restricted, you can barely if at all tell that air is flowing, the only sign is the exhaled vapor. Is the Pax that restrictive?

Dropped my Pax into a full glass of water by accident. (while loaded) Took it all apart, dried it off and I'm puffing some awesome Outdoor OG out of it right now...

Pretty tough lil fucker...

I just saw this post, that's encouraging, I bet all the electronics are sealed with the 10 year warranty.

I like how you specify you dropped it into a glass of water "by accident" (as opposed to when you intentionally put your Pax into a glass of water lol).

I tried my solo tonight with a new pvhes shorty turbo. I did something tonight I have not done before, as I bought this for bubble exclusively. I filled up the stem and packed it lightly tight. I found restriction to be more, but much much :) more action in the long run. I used the extra fine screen, which is way too small, but worked fine. I have no compaints, pax for the road, solo for the home, bada bing.

many months now since owning the pax, no extra screens needed.

Talk about tough, I've dropped my Pax onto asphalt so hard it got dents, it kept on working. Since then I have dropped it at least a few more times around the house and it still works! Solid construction. But I guess it does bring up the subject of why Ploom dosn't texture the surface, I've seen pictures where some guy wapped rubberbands around it to give him somthing to hang onto...

I dropped mine right out of the box onto the garage floor, a chip but no issues. I wonder why also. A nice rubber coating would be perfect.

i have read in their FAQ , the new one as a more rough finish.

I think it's mainly aesthetics, but the aluminum also helps dissipate heat better.

A rubber cover (like on a phone) would heat the electronics up more :2c:

I was thinking how badass it'd be to have a slightly thicker shell thats brushed stainless, like the stainless lighter cases you can get for bics that slide right over it

i do own a vape site, however we wouldn't sell this after testing any ways. so no commercial interest.

i am about to review the pax its unsafe in my personal opinion, based on facts.

has any one seen the warranty change on there site. i cached it but im not posting my caches online. (knew/felt they where shady company, something about it didnt feel right after buying.)

so you have to ask ploom before you buy if your shop is authorized and you better get it in writing.
this ploom company impo they want to change the rules as they go.

They have to prove when they put that up on there site they cant retro actively do this legaly LOL
so current owners better hope they bought before this change and then document it now before you need your warranty.
Im guessing soon warranties threw them will be imposible. there will be a reason.

Warranty applies to original end-user purchaser only. Warranty does not apply should you purchase through a 3rd party reseller such as eBay and Craigslist.

Hey francis.
to respond
1. most dont know it. and when i bought mine at retail and registered it there site didnt say that but now it does. (again they cant retro actively do that) way to controlling just make a good product and sell it. and service it.

i have had this one site parked (unused) for 3ish years in the hopes vaporizers would improve and then i would start selling them.
i jumped in early knowing the thermovape is coming out.
and thinking that pax after all the hoopla and circuit board i thought surely they have thermal or short etc protection on board the battery.
To be honest the only vape i want to sell at the moment is the thermovape as it activly promotes and says use safe batteries. (safer)
and its not an oven its hot air (not waisting material) like others.
im not keen on some of the other hot air units im only after best.
i admit i asked for wholesale before i got mine Knowing it does waste some material that is known from all the videos i watched about it but i didnt know how unsafe the battery truel was

thermovape says this
http://thermovape.com/cera-faq
"
What batteries can be used in the Cera?

We use custom made 18650 2900 mAh 3.7V Rechargeable battery for our Cera Vaporizers. They are made with japanese cell, and the protective circuitry is over wrapped in the US. We recommend using these batteries explicitly as we have done testing and research. Do not use an ICR Li-Co un-protected lithium ion, lithium cobalt batteries. Any battery has to be protected with a minimum 2C"

the battery has no thermal protection on it (IE a thermaly protected 18650 that you can buy stock just mm longer than the one used because of said circuit board.

(i noticed it from the pictures i found on this site. (Before opening mine and relizing just how unsafe they are.
Here is a video but its not public only linked, i will make a new one that explains it better.
let me know if this explains why.
also first

an e ciggerett exploded here in OKC yesterday and it brought out Hazmat, bombsqaud, police, fire etc.
http://www.koco.com/news/oklahomane...tte/-/11777584/19768650/-/po4rsj/-/index.html

so with that and plooms reaction to me letting them know said they would hide behind it.

the pics i saw on this site showed me the battery wires are not high temp (i would have wraped them in fiberglass sleave and put a fiberglass mat between that 400 degree oven and the battery that can touch that hot oven assymble since that battery over 140 can catch fire or explode.

forgot the video link
it will not be online for long.
i will be revising it.. for the pax review.
but also make a lithium battery saftey video for general saftey..
we have to many lithium cells in our houses to not understand them.
there safe if there safely made but then again dell and sony showed us how dangurus these exact cells can be.

click the gear thing and 1080

i just saw your edit.
i read the rules , ya it sounds harsh but with the facts i have since offered i hope you see it as a advisment to the consumer world.
im not atacking. this is a safety concern
i should have waited to post the warranty change until my new video is available.
thats why i posted the non publicly searchable video here. so you can see why i said what i said before i say it in a better video layout.(that video was done to explain the pax issue to someone last night that like most doesnt deal with batteries like i do.)

"Owning a vape site" does mean you have commercial interest, especially since you state you plan to sell. Constructive criticism of a vape is welcome here, but it must be done in a calm, rational manner and you must back up bold claims with equally bold evidence. Members with a commercial interest are especially limited in what they can post in these matters. Read the rules before you post again if you choose to return after your 3 day ban.

Yeah the Pax charging circuit is integrated into the single circuit board, that makes sense since it makes the battery shorter and the device more compact.

The circuit is as reliable as any other protection circuit (including those on the batteries themselves) and the low voltage cutoff is 3.7v so the battery is treated really very gently imo :2c:

Here's what Ploom has to say on the matter:

Safety is extremely important to Ploom. The battery used in Pax includes industry-standard inbuilt protection circuitry. Beyond that, the controlling electronics and firmware are specifically engineered to include multiple additional redundancies and fail safes to prevent battery failure modes and ensuring the device will not operate in any possible errant state. Pax has undergone thousands of hours of testing, including destructive testing, extensive failure mode analysis and constant product lifecycle testing to ensure that every unit meets our rigid quality standards.

Just wanted to go on record and say how top notch ploom's customer service is. Lorenzo and Zach really went above and beyond to get me a new pax for replacement from a website that no longer even supports them. That was a few weeks ago. Today I get an email asking how my new pax is, and is it to your complete satisfaction. Any questions, we'd love to help kind of email. Really brightened my day. I responded back with a strong; Yes, I love my pax ploom.

Yeah.. F* Combustion..
Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a while and i really want to thank you all for the quality of the forum. I've thought to make my firt post here because I know there's a lot complains about the pax beeing a hog (which is actally true) and i wanted to share my remedy, which i find to work really fine. I don't know if this has been already fully covered cause i haven't read all the thread. What i do is i simply use a normal pipe screen molded to fit the oven that act as a spacer.
I know videos are always welcomed, so here it is.

Been doing this as of recent. You sir are a genius. The pax is happy because I don't vape as much product, adding more time between cleanings and I am happier because my wallet doesn't have to give up too much in order to enjoy it.

I have a high tolerance and I have noticed that vaping less obviously doesn't keep me up that long, but I kinda like it because I can control what I am doing, aka I can toke before class, before something and when that is finished, I am normally back down.

Highly recommend trying this, if you haven't already. Also, Sink screens are just a little too small to be optimal, I made it work, but the bigger screen was much better.

Ploom should sell 2 differents oven caps ;
1 regular
1 that goes deeper inside the oven so it reduce the trench size...

kinda like this

I used to think that too, but I think the air volume is potentially crucial for good vapor. Could definitely be wrong on that, I think the screen idea is pretty great, we could probably attach a screen to the lid pretty easily.
Improving contact/even heating while maintaining the air volume.
