I have only had mine for a couple of days but I love it. The lip burning is a possibility (had it happen to me at first) but once you slow down, and take small puffs, it's not an issue. The unit does darken the bud alot more, since it is conduction, but if you are looking for a portable that gets hot quick and allows you to rip a nice fat cloud (I have managed about 20 or so of these on a load) it's worth a look. It does also requires stirring for even vapage.
I also think it's the stealthiest/sexiest portable at the moment.
Edit: For the record I use an SSV and a Volcano at home, and even though the flavour is superior on those units to the Pax, I often find myself using the Pax for it's convenience. It sure packs a punch and does the job!
I find the Pax to be very simple to use. You don't have to stir if you don't want, but I find it gives a more even toasting. The big difference here is that one is conduction while the other is convection...obviously there will be a taste difference for sure. I like fat clouds, so conduction is more my style in a portable.
So I've been vaping now for a few years, I have a viVape 2 and I love it, but I am looking for something portable now. I am interested in the Pax, but also am thinking about being put on the waiting list for the miVape, because I really enjoy Vaporfection's products. I am nervous though because I have heard that people have been burning their lips on the Pax, and that it scorches the weed. I already love the viVape because of its smooth vapors and am anticipating the miVape to be a mini version of it, so I am stuck! Can anyone give advice?!?!
Here's the best I could do on a couple of rides. It's just too damn dark.
Pirates of the Caribbean
Haunted Mansion
I could not get a decent picture here. I tried.
You have to clean (or change parts) on every vaporizer sooner or later.Do you have to clean the vivape 2? I want a home unit like the volcano where i dont have to clean it.
nobody else have a screen that wont stay put?I am starting to have trouble with my screen remaining in place....the screen always falls out easily.

In the interest of getting you to like the pax more:Allison, I also have a viVape 2 as my main vaporizer, and an Iolite Wispr and PAX as my portable vapes.
Of the 3 I like the PAX the LEAST.
In addition to the myriad of problems outlined in this chain, there are a few things that I really dislike about the PAX.
1. The restricted draw. It feels like trying to drink a very thick milk shake through a narrow straw when hitting the PAX.
I personally prefer the draw on the Wispr, but not necessarily the vapor that is produced.
2. The taste of the flower. This may have something to do with my specific flower, but I do not like the taste at all, especially after the flower has been sitting on the hot oven screen.
3. The smell coming out of the oven, especially on the high setting.
I think that some of the above issues are related to the fact that the PAX is a conduction device versus the viVape 2 being a convection device.
I believe that the Wispr is mainly a conduction vape also, but read somewhere that it uses a combination of the 2 heating methods.
I have emptied the PAX after a session, loaded the ABV into my viVape 2 wand and gotten 3-4 more strong hits, this after seeing no more vapor from the PAX.
When it comes to discreetness and general design though, nothing beats the PAX.
I just heated it up and took a draw with an empty oven, just to test the draw resistance and the temperature. The air tastes really plastic :S is this normal / will this go away?I bet that would happen with most portables then, it does make sense. I would assume some would be more susceptible then others but the oven will cool just the same.
@finn did you do a burn? I do not remember anyone complaining about that but this is a long thread and I read many.

Hmm, so I got my pax in the mail today.
I tried heating it up, taking an empty dry draw just to test the resistance and temperature. It tastes STRONGLY like bitter plastic. How do I remedy this?
