You need to look at the official e-mail they sent out. The unit looks glorious in their self-shot photos. I was just coming here to post about it myself.

On unrelated news, I brought my Pax to Riot Fest this year (2nd time doing this) and had no troubles. Someone even thought it was a cigarette because of the cloud sizes it was producing. I also noticed a lot more people with pens, e-cigs, and vaporizers this year whereas last year I was in the minority. Power to non-combustion!

For some reason I do not get emails from Ploom even though I bought directly from them and even had a replacement serviced through them. Can you post any applicable pictures here? All I can tell from the website is it looks like a silver Pax.

You need to "opt in" to their email newsletter. Go to the Ploom website, click on the news tab at the top of the page. On the right side of the news page you will see a from to fill out for "subscribe to our newsletter". Enter info, hit subscribe button and you're done.

What's the safest way to remove the spring? It really needs to soak. I clean it with alcohol on one of those braces brushes and just shove that down where the spring is. But I want to take it out for a proper clean.

The spring that's in/around the mouth piece stem? If so, just get a pipecleaner wet and wrap it around the little part and rub; always loosens it up for me.

I lost the e-mail, but opt-in like someone else said. It looks sleek, I'm tellin' ya.

I think I ordered off eBay if I'm not mistaken. When they come in it's simple to apply with the directions and a steady hand/eye.
Same here....

You can buy three for $10 or one for $6.

I picked up three in case one got scratched up or I messed it up installing it. Install was not as bad as I thought. Just plan how you want to line it up (the seam goes on the side) and stick it on slowly with a steady hand as @NickDlow says. It is also pretty forgiving cuz you can peel it off and restick it if you need.

Hey everyone,

I've had my Pax unit for just about a year now and I've had no problems up until this point. However, today after filling the oven and turning it on, the unit flashes blue then shuts off. I've tried giving it a good cleaning, as well as shifting/clicking the mouthpiece, but no luck. :(

I already contacted Ploom, but I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions...

Just bought the PAX on Friday (September 26 2014).

Worked on the first session.

Next day, won't heat anymore, it is stuck on purple.

Have tried cleaning mouthpiece, and chamber.

Have lubed the mouthpiece.

It's fully charged.

No luck.

Very disgruntled.

Any help would be appreciated.

Has anyone got a diamond pax yet? I haven't had a pax in months but that unanodized body is just calling me :brow:

I have not seen one of these "diamond" ones in person but honestly if I were looking for a high end vape at this price point I might look elsewhere.

Don't get me wrong. I love my Pax and still use it regularly but new vapes are coming out all the time and there is a lot of competition out there. Much more competition than years ago when the Pax came out. The response from Pax now is to introduce a new color???

I don't know but I'm thinkin' it's going to take a lot more than that to keep people interested in the Pax. Even with the media machine backing them.

Maybe I'm wrong but either way I would love to see Pax work on a new version. At minimum I would like them to introduce swappable batteries, more temp/variable settings and redesign the mouthpiece and temp button setup for easier use/cleaning. Whatever else they do is icing on the cake but I think this is the bare minimum to keep up with everyone else. In my opinion the only advantage it currently has over other vapes is stealth and there are others that can compete there too (and some considerably cheaper).

If they opt out on a new version for now then I believe a price reduction is in order. $250 might have been right price considering the competition and what they were offering in 2012 but if you look what you can get for $250 (or less) nowadays I think you will agree.

@scottg420 No trust me I completely agree, I've replaced my pax with a firefly about 6 months ago and am more than happy with the switch ;) In my mind, I think that this might be a way for them to sell of existing stock before an upgrade, there is nothing to support this theory just me hoping really haha

Well said.

There is some competition now that meets the features and performance of the Pax, or beats it, at a far less price point.

In the last month by carefully shopping and waiting for the right deals, I purchased an Arizer Solo, and 2 Flowermate V variable temp models. All brand new and all from official dealers. Best of all, I still have come in less than the $250 price tag for all of these combined than the Pax. Kinda ridiculous.

Congrats on your Diamond Pax. Pax was my first portable, and I think it's the nicest looking portable vape and best for stealth except for smell. I love my Firefly, but I can't see myself sitting on a beach sucking on what looks like a 10-year-old cell phone. Pax's greatest drawback for me is flavor. I also love my Lotus, but there's nothing stealthy about a butane flame on a big round disc. If I knew then what I know now, I might have started portable vaping with an MFLB. Don't know if any of you drink wine while you're vaping, but the above stream of consciousness is a side-effect.:)

You buy from an authorized dealer? ;

There are a lot of fakes out there. Do you know what to look for in making sure yours is authentic?

I would only trust from ploom site or vapeworld. As stated its a lot of fakes running around. There are youtube videos.

From reading over part of this thread and searching myself online, am I right in thinking that Vape World and Ploom are the only two places online to safely purchase a real Pax?
