One thing worth trying is to add a final hit after every session to "clear" the vapor out of the pax but more importantly, to cool the oven off. I'm in the habit of this final long draw and I have found that it helps keep my cleaning frequency down.
Another thing that works when the pax is semi-dirty is to do the take-out-mouthpiece and heat it with your breath trick, but also get a little saliva on the part that will make contact with the spring area. This acts as a conductive lube replacement, imo.
