Do you think they wont? - I mean if you know something I don't I will humbly stand corrected. I don't see how a 10 year warranty can cover only certain parts of the pax for 10 years and other parts for a limited time, ya dig? - Heres a scenario. I quit smoking for say 5 years, I forget I even own a Pax. One day I decide I am going to pull out the old pax and get silly, but to my surprise the battery is dead. Do you honestly think Customer Support will say, "Well its got a ten year warranty, but the battery dead, so fuck off."

The warranty clearly states they do not cover battery "degradation". Of course this does not apply to a new unit, like the ones you were having problems with. This has also been covered a few times in the past - before you arrived to the thread.

Then I stand corrected, Jesus that sucks, that doesnt seem right, as you can't remove the battery with out voiding your warranty. I just messaged them to make sure that was correct, and you are right. they said they have already started working out a replacement plan, he told me it would most likely be 50% of the cost to have the unit replaced with a new one, and they would also be offering battery swaps/upgrades in the near future. Meh. Its better than nothing I guess! They said after 300 full charges it will loose 20% of its capacity.

This is the only reason I didn't get a pax!

The wizards at Ploom told me. I wanted to be sure I was correct (*Incorrect) so I asked their tech support, he gave me those details after I brought up the issue of the battery degradation not being covered.

Hey, so , I did something pretty stupid. I used a plastic knife (stupid) to clean out the oven, and I must have melted a tiny bit of plastic on it. Now, every time I turn it on, it produces plastic smoke. Is there a good way to clean this out, or di i just ruin this thing forever? :(

I also might have inhaled some plastic smoke before I noticed. How bad could that be? :/

LMAO. I find that hilarious, sorry. I love how in () you used stupid. I use the magic eraser for my oven and it comes spotless, just like new. I would try using that and letting your oven cook for a few minutes to get all that nasty stuff out. :2c:

Thanks, that sounds like a good idea. I'm just freaking out because this thing is brand new and I was worried I might have caused some permanent damage.

What is all the hub bub about it. Not to flame anyway here. But a lot of posts on this thread sound a lil over-entitled to me. It is pretty common to not cover batteries on warranties. The reason they degrade. Which is why it does not shock me that after 300 charge cycles the battery will no longer perform at full capacity. This is the norm for batteries. Whether it is your phone, your laptop, your ipad or your vape. It is still a battery. All of this is pretty normal.

I agree with this being in hardware support for many years. Unless the battery explodes they should never be covered. We call the exploding a defect.
