Shpooding Time.
Perhaps try heating it up with a hair dryer, or using a hand dryer in a public bathroom if that's not available.
It moves a little but it doesn't seem like I'll be able to get it out. I've clicked it down every way possible and tried all of the methods I've read online and nothing works. I think when I took out the metal piece on the mouthpiece to clean I didn't put it back in right, because it was immediately noticeable something was wrong (dull clicking noise). I thought I was lucky too when I didn't have any mouthpiece or temp light issues out of the box.
Does anyone know if this will be covered under warranty (even if it was my fault for breaking it)? And do I have to wait until they get my unit before they ship the replacement unit? I just hope I don't have to pay any more custom fees because I really can't afford it.
you guys should read the thread lol its like your closing your eyes and typing. Pakalolo gave him the answer he needs, he already told us he fucked up putting the sliding ring back on so nothing with heat or hot air or prying or poking is going to do shit. period. Onion, is the slider ring on the stem or did you forget to put it on all together? if you did put the ring on backwards, I'd return it, if you dont want to wait, fallow pakalolo's instructions because what he just told you is exactly what you'll have to do, look at my first posts, I came here because I did the exact same thing as you. They did return my pax, but I have done the same thing again trying different bong adapters and I was able to remove the pin myself. When I first got it stuck I used a metal coat hanger and used the hook end to pry the plastic mouthpiece off, after there was just a pin exposed sticking out the top. If you can activate the latch by pushing the slider ring further down it'll pop free. I havent been able to pop it free with out a ring. If you just forgot to put the ring back on and you can find it you are in luck because this is an easy fix.
edit- perhaps if you order a second mouthpiece you can take the ring off of it and slide it down over the pin (once exposed) that is stuck, push it in with a pen or somthing and it'll shoot right out. You have to free that latch pakalolo talked about, If you can find anything to push down with the mouthpiece you can pop it out that way too, perhaps break all but one tooth off a plastic fork as a tool.

A quote from the Pax FAQ page:
Has the external finish on the unit changed? Is there any change in functionality?

Pax now features a bead-blasted anodized aluminum shell. This updated finish provides increased durability and improved consistency of finish.

Thanks HephziBubba - case closed I guess. :)

I guess my Onyx was late in the "old version" production and my Cobalt was early in the "new version" production.

Interestingly enough they both seem to have the "delayed temp button" light, which seems to have been a recent change.

I've been lurking on this forum for the past couple of weeks while I agonized over a vaporizer purchase. I bought an iolite 2 or 3 years ago and used it for a few months on occasion, but I hated the butane and it seemed like it constantly needed to be refilled. It also tasted funky. My best friend has a digital Volcano and I was planning on purchasing the Classic, since most vaporizer review sites and blogs rank the Volcano as "the best". Still, I was hesitant to spend so much on something that I didn't actually love using with my friend (I really don't care for bags).

My friend actually ended up going out of town and let me borrow her Volcano so I could wait a little longer to spend the money I'd set aside for one. I realized within two nights that the Volcano really didn't excite me. It's definitely well-made, and it vapes, but it's loud and I REALLY hate bags (crinkly, overly enticing to my puppy, and one of my friend's had sprung a leak and I watched a lot of precious vapor escape before I realized).

So then I was back to square one. I'd visited the head shop and done some preliminary research a couple weeks ago, and had been intrigued by the Pax. I'd also entertained the thought of the Extreme Q, since it had a whip attachment as well. But before making decisions, I decided to research again. I started to read in-depth on this forum...and discovered that contrary to what the local head shop had said, and contrary to what I read other places online, the Volcano is not the be-all-end-all, and there are plenty of other options that are as effective or more...most of them cheaper.

I did end up buying a Pax yesterday, but not before agonizing over the Arizer Solo, SSV, and the Plenty. In the end, the portability and stealth aspect of the Pax won out. I'm mostly a solo smoker, and I tend to take hits as I walk around the house doing chores, or go outside with my dogs. Up until I tried the Pax, I wasn't convinced that I would ever want to switch to vaporization only, even though I know it's better for me (which is why I kept trying). Also, my partner said I had to buy a vaporizer because she hates the smell of smoke. lol. Anyway, I love the Pax!! I think I'm officially a convert. With other vaporizers, I really felt the effect wasn't great. One session with the Pax and I was definitely feeling it. I love the fact that I can slip it into my pocket. For me, this is perfect. I used to walk around with my pipe and lighter in my pocket, which gets messy (yeah, I'm classy). This thing is so small, I don't even really feel it in there.

In conclusion, I adore the Pax. And now that I see that vaporizers can actually be awesome, I'm already planning my next purchase. As much as I love the Pax, I'd like something a little more efficient and with better vapor quality for around the house. I'm thinking an Arizer Solo next. And definitely a SSV at some point!! Anyway, thanks to those on this forum for sharing your opinions. It really helped! :)

Then I'd say it's time to return it and get a replacement. Contact Ploom or your dealer. Vapeworld replaced mine when it failed to heat up.
yeah, ditto. Go with ploom, so you get the newest model for the replacement.

ipax,

welderboy

its 4:20 somewhere.....
I get about 1 hr 40 min on red with these, 2 hrs with a Panasonic. I think I got 1 hr 30 min with my original pax battery.

Why wouldn't ploom use this battery to begin with then? 2x the battery life, damn cheap, and a very standard battery...
more than just battery life probably played into it. A lot of testing goes on before these things go out, it probably had to do with the charge, cost, life, and longevity of the battery, not just the charge.

Yup the pax battery is a high output battery. I thought the regular 18650's would take longer to heat up but they work fine.

Thanks for the help and suggestions, everyone. I've contacted Ploom and so far they have only asked for more details so they can help me fix it (not gonna happen). I responded with these details 5 hours ago and they haven't answered back yet. How long does it take to respond to an email?
I'm really worried they won't replace or fix it because it may have been my fault for it breaking. I was surprised to see in the warranty that accidental breakage is not covered. For $250 they should really be doing all they can to help. Plus, their mouthpiece is designed so bad I think at least part of the blame should be placed on them (it shouldn't be so easy to accidentally break). I'm really thinking about getting my money back because this process has been painful every step of the way and I just don't want to deal with it anymore.

I suppose. On another note, has anyone had issues with the billing address/shipping address on vapeworld? I tried ordering a Pax last night to a different address than the billing and got an email this morning saying that i had to call my banks customer service and get them to approve this shipping address since it isnt the same as the billing. Ive shipped many items to this shipping address using that card, why is it an issue for them??

I doubt you will be able to get your money back especially after you just admitted to customer service that you broke it. You're surprised accidental breakage isn't covered? Any time I want a new pax I'd just chuck it down a flight of stairs if that were the case. Not really a wise business move, and besides why should they be responsible for your mistakes? Its an easy fix if they wont, and like Pakalolo said, no where does it say taking apart the pax will void your warranty. You can get torx screwdrivers on amazon for less than a dollar... I used a small flathead screwdriver and that worked fine. I used a pair of vice grips to aid me as the screwdriver was tiny.
This can be fixed in seconds if you have the washer still. (IE you forgot to put the washer back on the stem of the mouthpiece)

Not sure why you're rolling your eyes. I didn't admit to customer service that I broke it. They only know my mouthpiece is stuck. Plus, I don't even know if it was my fault for breaking it (all I did was clean it and put it back together). And it does say accidental breakage is not covered by warranty. I'll go at it with a screwdriver and pliers if Ploom isn't going to help. I'm not particularly handy and my Pax is already a bit scratched from trying to get the mouthpiece out.

Call Vapeworld and tell them the amount that was charged and the name on the transaction via your banks online page. I had to do the same thing since I shipped to the office.

As in go online, and look at my transactions page, and read off to vapeworld what it says?

Yeah go to your transactions page. I forgot what the name was but it says something specific that they would know what it is. That along with the total amount charged was enough for them to ship it to me.

I'm rolling my eyes to paying a dollar for a screwdriver I'd use once, as I stated, I ended up using a regular screwdriver instead. You likely put the mouthpiece in with either a backwards locking ring or no locking ring at all, if you find a little ring around where you cleaned it that looks like a small washer, thats your locking ring, it belongs on the mouthpiece. As for the warranty, theres no reason Ploom wont help you. I wouldn't worry.

you guys should read the thread lol its like your closing your eyes and typing.

Are you kidding me? This thread is over 300 pages long and has more conversational branches than I care to reread. How many times have new posters come on board complaining about the temp light issue without reading the previous twenty times it's been discussed? Sorry for trying to help.

Hey guys
I have had my pax for about a month no issues really. It is obviously a fidgety device and i am fine dealing with that. I wanted to ask if other people are experiencing battery indicator issues. My pax just ran on red for a good hour. The battery seems to be working normal its just the indicator does not seem to be accurate. Another question i have is how i hould make sure the screen doesnt come out when i cash it

Mine has battery indicator issues also. I sent the first one back to Vapeworld for this reason and because the battery took around two hours to charge. The second one I received behaves the exact same way. As Mr. Krinkle noted Ploom has changed their website to indicate the battery make take up to two hours to charge now. Not sure if that is because they changes the battery brand/specs or if because so many people were returning theirs due to long charging time. My battery indicator also goes from green to yellow to red pretty quickly, but works on red for quite some time (I've never actually timed it). I decided not to go through another return as it seems others are reporting similar issues. If anything serious goes wrong I will return it for warranty service.

Great Scott!
Pax stopped heating as of today. Even on the blue/purple heating light, just no heat. Started a warranty claim with ploom. Not too thrilled about it.

my thoughts exactly. Not sure which reason it is they get 2 hours now, not really thrilled about it  but it works great otherwise so I'm not going to open an issue.

Dropped my Pax into a full glass of water by accident. (while loaded) Took it all apart, dried it off and I'm puffing some awesome Outdoor OG out of it right now...

Pretty tough lil fucker...
