So after missing my delivery Saturday, rescheduling with the postman on Monday, my PAX is back!!!!! I now have a total of 3 mouthpieces now. I'm still waiting on my packs of replacement screens from Vapeworld (Ordered them in what felt like 2011)

So tomorrow I will be taking the Pax on a trip. I've cleaned it real good (using Medium Steel Wool), I cleaned the screen, and the oven (as best as I can), soaked the mouthpiece is rubbing alcohol, and cleaned the vapor path, and the surrounding area. I haven't used it, and it doesn't smell. I'm gonna throw it in my check in, and see what's up.

Hopefully I won't have any problems :-). I'm also going to buy a pack of tobacco as a "this is for tobacco use only" :-).

There are no less than nine anti-inflammatory components listed that boil at or below the Pax's yellow setting. Furthermore, as the Vaporpedia article you copied that from explains, these temperatures are not binary. Components start to vapourize well below their boiling points. The difference is the percentage you get, not whether you get it at all.
The blank entries at the temperatures that the Pax uses for medium and high simply indicate none of the listed components have boiling points at those temperatures. That doesn't mean there is no difference, since the ratio of components released varies by temperature.

That chart is based on a well-known study with the title Cannabis and Cannabis Extracts: Greater Than the Sum of Their Parts? by McPartland & Russo. I don't think it claims to be all-inclusive, so there could be other components not mentioned.

I think you might be mis-reading the chart, else I don't understand the question.

The chart shows (as 2x, 3x, etc.) the number of components of that type that have boiling points at or near that temperature. All nine of the anti-inflammatories below yellow are released, and as I tried to explain some portion of the ones with higher boiling points are also released.

So your saying that the 3x anti-inflammatory is made up of 3 components at a set range?
and the one with 2x anti-inflammatory is something completely different made up of 2 components at another set range?

So they release NEAR that temperature but the anti-inflammatory with 2 component at 284F would still be there, but if im using at 410F it would be drastically reduced then if I was at 325F, while others would be in there as well since it hit higher temps?

Also, the [3] [2] [5] at the end of each different thing means what?

Edit: That article was very enlightening, thanks. I understand a lot better now. When I got to the part where combustion lets out everything I just went like . That's dope, the water boiling was a good analogy.

Not to completely go off track here......but I'm finally got my Pax in! I went to pick it up on my lunch break. I just couldn't wait to try it. This thing is absolutely amazing! Even down to the box...I felt like that time I bought my girl a Coach bag....the box was just as cool as the bag! All in the marketing right?
Well, I had brought my grinder just for the occasion and I packed it up. I can truly say I had no issue on the draw. Ive been combusting all my life and this thing hits! I was even coughing! I've never been so happy to have coughed! lol. I'm really looking foward to the "cleaner clearer" high. I work with people so I like to be on my game. Something Im really interested in knowing.. Have any of you guys noticed your memory improving after vaping for a while? I just wonder if some of the short term memory effects could be attributed in part to the chemicals in the smoke? I could be completely off though. I can't wait to get home and really fire it up....I mean um.... vape it up!

Those numbers are notes in the Vaporpedia chart. For example, [3] is actually a link to note 3, which explains what an analgesic is and links to the Wkipedia article on analgesics.

Where do you think you are, the Pax thread?

I'd been smoking for 40 years before I switched to vapourizing. I don't think I can separate the effects of the change from the effects of going around the sun so often. It makes you dizzy after a while. Hell, I even forgot what thread I was in.

I'd like to think so, but most times if I convince myself I remembered something I would have forgotten, I always end up forgetting something even bigger...

Congrats on the new Pax!! I noticed several things changed for me when I started strictly vaping. My sense of smell/taste is seriously improved which is a double edged sword. I am a bit more picky about things being clean than I used to be, across the board, I wouldn't say compulsive, but definitely notice a change there. I do feel a bit clearer headed, but I still consume quite a bit for my pain (trying to stay off pills) so I still get some interference depending on how heavy I am vaping, but I can see that on days when I feel good and I don't partake as much, I am much more functional than I used to be when smoking.

I have to say the Pax got me through a long night of not being able to sleep, and dealing with this crazy person on my porch... Love'n my Pax!!

just an idea....wouldn't it be possible to put a drop of that "liquid band aid" on the temp button to
protect it against iso? it's supposed to be water proof and it's very flexible so it should still be possible to
push the button.

I very much agree with this part. I have noticed my tastebuds expanding. I haven't notice the smells thing, but I don't vape everyday. I still use it for recreational use.

If your sense of taste has improved then so has your sense of smell, since most of taste is actually smell.

Nice job. Im fried now from reading and looking into this all day at work. My Pax came back today with the battery on RED so i have been charging it. 1 more hour and I'm on the street Paxing it once again.

This vape is overrated. It looks great, and I want to love it, but it falls short. Out of the box It was great, but 6 weeks or so later, my opinion is entirely different.

This thing is a mess. It requires a ridiculous amount of cleaning. and it seems easy to break. My system already is having problems recognizing igniting. i will have it in position to vape, and the light will flicker between purple and orange. It eventually works, but it takes a good 20 seconds or so of messing with it before i get the purple light.

I hope this thing lasts. warranty or not, majority of people wont send this thing through the mail. Myself included

It's a shame you're disappointed. I just wipe out the bowl with a bit of napkin or paper towel after a sesh and I'm able to go about a month in between major cleanings.

The temp issue you describe is likely build up on the outside of the tube the MP slides on, it's easy to get the MP clean but the tube should be cleaned with a q-tip or dental pick, you can take the spring out too. I clean the very top of the tube every month or so and the Pax heats up consistently.

if you clean the top of the tube the MP goes on and the MP every now and then it should work just fine but maybe yours is abnormal? Mailing anything first class is cheap, and if you're worried about legality issues you can always put Ploom's address in the return address. Much more serious stuff goes through the mail all the time, stuff you'd rather not think about...

Hello! Newbie to the board, sure wish I had found this place sooner!

Long-time vaporizer aficionado, brand-new proud owner of a cobalt Pax! I absolutely love this little gadget; at this point, for me, it seems to answer pretty much all the gripes I had about the others.

Been reading all your great info, hope to join in with all of you. So glad I'm not the only vaping obsessive!

Btw, I bought the cobalt because it was the same color & material as one of my favorite early-model MP3 players (a Creative Labs Nomad w/a whopping 32mb of memory, lol).

I think vaporizers are just becoming incredible devices now.
