Vapor genies are great until there's a slight breeze. The lotus, vapman and daisy use torches

Yeah, I use my VG with a torch lighter too. Head shop that sold it to me said it's ideal for using with a torch lighter. So I bought one and it sucks. It's the only thing I really do not like about these flame powered vapes. I can't find a torch lighter that lasts a long time.

I haven't understood if you need a cheap cheap vape or just a way to protect your Pax… If you are comfortable with spending 50+ bucks on a Vapor genie or coil or a Vapman, why don't you through a few extra and go with a Lotus which will most likely become your daily driver as well leaving the Pax just for the few stealth or one-hand situations?

I am leaning towards the Lotus right now. My DD is the Herbalizer and the Pax has been relegated to just sitting there. If I ever need stealth, I would pull it out, but I'm not much of an on-the-go user.

even though it's technically portable, I don't consider the Lotus a carry around vaporizer, especially the way I use it, either with the water tool or the j hook, but maybe that's just me.

It's pretty portable with the standard stem… I used to carry it everywhere with me and a two minute visit to the restroom was all I needed.

I know it's doable, but for me it's less than ideal as a quick hit it and go vaporizer when I can pull out the mflb and hit it a few times in public or walking down the street and have it back in my pocket in like 90 seconds. My preferred usage of the Lotus is with a bubbler or through the J Hook. That's just me, though

I've had less than a week with the lotus, but I've had 6 years of mflb use - many of that as a daily driver.

I agree that quick stealthy hits are easier with the mflb, but the quantity is different. I can extract two fat bowls in just over a minute in the lotus, it would take me 10 mins to extract that much with the mflb.

That's the big difference here… With a fast and hard hitting vape like the Lotus or the Hammer probably, or the Vapor Genie or the Daisy, you take a couple of very potent hits and you are done. With a Solo or a MFLB you need to take multiple hits and in the end you spend more time to get there… As my vaping career started with a MFLB and then a Solo as well, the length of the sessions also led me to teeth pains from the prolonged exposure to high temps. That's why I was looking for something that would give me very potent and short hits instead of a slow, prolonged session. And as a bonus, the fast and hard hitting nature of the Lotus, and the Firefly at some extend, proved to be stealthier as well… If I was at a coffee shop or bar or the movies and I pulled out the MFLB or the Solo or the INH I would attract at least a few looks not to mention the stinky smell in closed spaces… With the Lotus and the Firefly I just excuse myself for a couple of minutes (going for a pee guys!!!) and I am back in no time already feeling amazing. It's a huge thing imho!

Just my luck! The Lotus is on sale this weekend! I'm picking one up for the trip. Any feedback on cap color? Is the turquoise nice or should I just go with natural?

Natural is more resilient mate, the other might need touch ups with paint from time to time.
It will be one of your best investments ever! Happy tripping!

I got the turquoise because the rest of my vapes are mostly either silver or black. I like having some color, though for me its strictly an indoor cat.

That's really good fortune you had mate!!! ;)

I would suggest to give the FF another try though… What didn't you like about it in the first place?

I love my ff but I think I would leave it at home unless it was a very short canoe trip, because the battery only last a few small bowls max. Even a short trip would suffer if it has multiple people!

Well, I, like most of us, had quite a bit of VAS lately and I bought the FF to replace my Pax, which I used around the house.

Shortly after that, I scored a stellar deal on a lightly used Herbalizer which quickly became my daily vape.

The Pax has a continued purpose for outside of the house use since it's discreet and has slightly better battery life than the FF.

So the FF is the odd vape out.

Besides that, though, I found it too bulky and slightly awkward to take hits from. The vapor was great and I love its efficiency but because my Herbalizer is better around the house and the Pax is better outside of it, it just doesn't fit in.

I'll be the one to say it- canoe/kayak trip, you gotta do Js.
As much as I love vaping you are putting your vape at risk (even in waterproof bag to an extent), and how are you going to vape and paddle at the same time? It's relaxing not to have to worry about anything and just paddle away while passing around carefree. Kayaks/canoes are also pretty wet overall from waves and such, and electronics and water don't seem to get along too well.
If you do have an oil pen that would be the only thing I would probably bring (not if you care a lot about it though), as @weedemon said.
This all coming from someone who strongly advocates vaping over smoking for health reasons, but being it a short trip (unlikely to reboot your habit), you may also get a different high from the CBDs burning (body relaxation) that you aren't used to from your vaping tolerance.
And also since nobody has said it, congrats on quitting cigs! Believe you have the willpower to only smoke a couple joints with your friends on one occasion and I'm sure it won't be nearly as difficult as what you have overcome (DONT ROLL WITH BATCH/TOBACCO).

Just my :2c:, have fun and keep a map~

Edit: if you really decide on not smoking grab one of those like 5-10$ no nicotine flavored vapes and have a t break.

Thanks, @tennstrong!

It was a battle to quit the tobacco but my ecig has made it possible. I am down to 6mg juice from 12 when I started. It's been almost 6 months without a single puff of smoke. Not even one drag. :D

I am really torn between Js and the lotus I may have "high" bought (is there a term for that? Shopping while stoned?). At the very least, the lotus will make the trip because we'll be in a cabin for a couple of days, too. Looking forward to this! I'll let you all know how it goes and what I ultimately decided to do.

Nice, nice. If you don't want to risk your ecig you could use nicotine gum while on the trip.

hmmm "high" bought.... could call it "lifted gifting"? haha anyway it wasn't a bad purchase!
Tip: zippo butane is in a small container that is much more packable than the british one (blue, name escapes me), and would let you use your lotus carefree.

I guess there will be pauses between puddling, right? It's not like straight paddling for a few hours... You won't having any problems with using the Lotus while on a pause of course. Just make sure you get a spare torch and keep them dry, as well as a small container of butane just in case... :)
