Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

Dumb Question - is there any downside in using the Omnicron HVD with a single battery (shorty) configuration vs just a regular V2.5? Battery life perhaps? and if so - can someone quantify?

Helpful thanks - How do you find the 7.4v HVD battery life vs a basic omicron v2.5

I really like the form factor of the short - anyone experiment with a 1600 mah battery?

You get that "Full charge hit" for the first 2 hits maybe, then it declines from there. Maybe keep 6 in your pocket. Personally the Omicron was stealth enough that I didnt need the HVD. Shit, Now im just out with a full sized Persei and I still feel stealth as hell. Except those huge clouds that are a clear giveaway.

Hmm - so just 2 proper hits even when using 2 batteries with the HVD, not going to work for me... How much life were u getting with your V2 pre-HVD?

So why do these HVD's look SO much nicer then the replacements? is this HVD v3?
If so can we send in on some sort of trade in week?

We do not stop improving our units, with each production run we change something to make it better. As we progress we learn, as we get feedback we adjust, there simply is no perfect unit. We designed the Omicron and Persei line to be modular for this reason, what this means is we can provide a kick ass warranty and the customer will never have to buy a brand new vape every year.

With this new style we have upgraded the internal circuitry, the threading is now built in and added indication lights.

Red light is short circuit
Purple light = Battery requires charge
Blue = Power On

With this said we will not be having any upgrades to these units. We will incorporate these new upgrades in replacement parts only.

IMHO, This is a poor estimate. I will say that with a 1.5 ohm cart, the 14250 battery doesn't last long, but much longer than 2 draws! I carry the mini at work, full size everywhere else. The mini does the job, just not for too long.....but wait.....that's why we can put a fresh battery in(with the size of these you should be able to carry a few!) The HVD setup is an accessory, a luxury option, if you will, such as leather seats in a vehicle. I don't know about you, but I like having many options to chose from.

So do the replacement HVD tops already have some of the circuitry changes?
My replacement top will sometimes change from blinking blue to blinking purple if I press the button while screwing in the endcap. It doesn't go red for a short - I tried. And I've never seen the purple flashing except when first "booting" and with the top in "locked" mode (Hey, mine doesn't always come up locked - probably 2 or 3 times out of 2 dozen, it won't need the "5 click unlock"). I suspect, but am not sure, these things may happen when I fumble a bit and make and break the circuit a couple times while threading the end!?

cross post from Persei thread:
I'm torn between getting the v2.5 vs the Persei - I plan on using this as my "active" vape
So primarily snowboarding and mountain biking.

The v2.5 is appealing due to the smaller form factor which is obviously a big deal for me, but I am concerned about cartridge reliability (flying to chase powder for 3-4 nights and having a cartridge fail on me due to burnout). My other concern is if I will find the vapor satisfying on a stock v2.4 cartridge, I know that I can always step up to 1.5ohm but given this will be getting passed amongst my buddies I think it makes sense to stick to a "safe" cartridge.

The Persei is obviously a little taller and quite a bit thicker, so not quite as pocketable for snowboarding - However I know vapor quality won't be an issue and from what I understand the Hercules cartridge should address burnout/reliability issues...

thoughts ideas?

The new circuitry is coming in the next 2 weeks, It is incorporated in the new Color Minicrons and the Omicron color versions. The Black and silver versions will get it after we are done with the current stock.

Now please remember that residual memory when replacing a battery. Follow these steps and your unit will always be in the off position.

Take top off, press button to get rid of any residual energy left, replace battery and it will go into lock position. If you replace a battery within a few seconds there is a change the top will remember its position, due to it having a capacitor.

G,

Fortunately, none of that - I'm sure it works fine, locking when it should.

Rather, when I put a battery in, sometimes it flashes purple or red instead of blue!

In trying for just a couple minutes, with a mini tube + HVD, I can consistently get the boot flashes to come in red/purple by tapping the endcap in place without screwing it in. To me, this make clear that there are either two LEDs inside or one with two colors (unlikely since they are more expensive). More to the point, why would it ever do this??

It works just fine all the time (so far) . I'm just puzzled about the LED color, AND you mentioned using two colors (assuming you make purple from red+blue like many ecig batteries) in the future.

BTW: Did everyone else notice the "Minicron" - I'm guessing this was the "Centauri" which we've previously seen pictures of (in gold ).

Will these tops be for sale once they become available?

Sorry if this has been answered already. Can you use the WF-188 to charge the 14250 batteries with the HVD supplied spacers???

Thanks in advance.

the New tops will not be available for purchase only when you need to send it in for repair's will it be given an upgrade.

Wf 188 will charge the 14250 at 300mah setting really good, you just might need a few extra spacers.

Any ETA one when we can place an order for a colored HVD??? Im dying to vape at 7.4volts but cant afford a Persei

Sorry to hear about it, but I think you're on the path to recovery. You want a few 2.4 Omicron carts, the loading tool and one of these thread adapters I think:
http://www.tropicalvapors.com/Adapt...artomizer-Omicron-Super-Nova-Smoore_p_68.html

There are a few e-cig pens that don't need the adapter, but I think they all come from Atmos? If I'm lying again, NDA or someone will straighten it out for us toot sweet.

Good luck. BTW go with the thickest, lightest colored concentrate in the dispensary. Super melts (not full melt), clear oil or wax. You want stuff that evaporates cleanly off a piece of foil with a lighter so it won't foul the cart too quickly. Weigh it when you start (empty), put no more than .5 grams in and refill when it gets to about .2 grams of empty weight and you should be in tall cotton.

Wen you say 'carts' -- what do you mean? I need links to all compatible pieces i would need, please. I have no clue what to do.

Ps. At the moment i am using pure gold oil (not sure what category of oil it falls into).

This is easy, just send me all your money. If you need something, I'll send it to you......

OK you can buy the carts from the maker or my favorite dealer (amongst others...), Planet Vape:
http://www.delta9vapes.com/products.php?product=1-Extract-Cartridge-2.4-ohm-for-3.7v
http://www.planetvape.ca/vaporizer-extract-cartridge-single.html

They're a little cheaper by the box of five, be sure you get 2.4 Ohms.

Delta 9 sells fill tools 3 at a time (?), PV one at a time:
http://www.delta9vapes.com/products.php?product=Fill-Tool-3pk
http://www.planetvape.ca/cartridge-fill-tool.html

You'll also need a lighter and some oil, of course. Fill instructions are here:
http://www.delta9vapes.com/pdf/Omicron_Fill_Instructions_v3.pdf

Carts can die without warning (or start leaking...) so it's good to have a few spares around. Each is good for several grams (depends on concentrate quality).

Don't worry about PV being in Canada, great outfit, fast, cheap shipping, strong supporters of this forum.

Hey OF, been thinking of taking this plunge myself. Want 3.7 volt 510 thread compatibility.
I assume pretty much as above however, if the concentrate is not that clean but rather dark ABS ISO wash, would you still go 2.4 ohm or maybe go to 1.5 ohm? Any other thoughts for lower grade oils?
Thanks,
Pipes

Good question, I tried it in fact. It kinda backfired on me, spit some nasty hot oil into my mouth in fact. I did get some good vapor but it ended up leaking quickly. I drained it back out and put it in a 2.4 and suffered through. It stalled out part way into the second gram so I fed the rest of it to my Revolution. Tasty SD oil but lots of extra junk in it I guess.

I've had some lower grade oils that worked great and had a couple of 'can't miss' $50 grams recommended by bud tenders crash and burn. One 'taffy' fouled two carts in a few tenths (I couldn't believe it so I wrecked another cart....). Price is no real indication. Light color, firmer nature and (most of all) clean evaporation seem to be the best clues. I've also found high percentage THC concentrates work better (I assume because there's less 'other stuff' in there?).

Thank you. Last question: what mouthpiece do i use?? Can i use my gpen one?

Any one you want. They're standard size "drip tips" in the trade. However, Omicron carts come with some very nice soft ones that work very well. I think most of us use them?
