:buzz: is there anyway you can put a shock alarm on the omni.....? I have one sitting on my desk and the damn thing is just to easy to pick up and inhale. If there was a electric shock after the 3rd one it might help me leave it alone. Just an idea if folks are into making apps for the omni........

Try just getting older. "Where did I put it?", "what was I looking for?", and "what should I do now?" will all work to lower your usage very effectively. Never fails.

And don't even start on "why did I come in here?".

OF

I'm only in my 40's and "Why did I come in here?" is already rearing it's head.

As you can see major improvements. The threading is now one piece, and the center pin does not move anymore, built to withstand drops, and getting run over with a pick up truck.

Stronger electronics built to handle anything thats out there.

Have you had OF contact customs for you? He might be able to convince them that they are for a new flash light working as a dimmer switch. ....... Good luck

I just want to thank everyone in this forum for all the knowledge and insight on this vape pen. I was a little hesitate to purchase one but after using my friends and much reading on here this was the only pen for me. Again thank you and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

2 questions I have though. I have the V2 and was wondering if it was worth it to upgrade to the V2.5 head? And if so what are the advantages? Also (well three questions I guess) what is the HVD and what's the advantages to it?

Thanks

First off, you're definitely welcome. And welcome to the forum, please don't be shy with your questions, observations or opinions? And congratulations, you made a good choice.

My advice is to keep using the V2 with 2.4 Ohm carts until you master the system. Then you can make an informed decision about the higher output options (but harder to control) are for you. If so, upgrade to V 2.5 or HVD might be in order. Plenty of time to decide later as I see it. V2 and 2.4 does a great job for lots of us.

Hi Bob, and welcome. I think (and I will rely on OF to correct me) that all recently sold Omicrons are v2.5 (3.7 volts). The HVD is a top that is rated for up to 7.4 volts. You attain this by using a different bottom and 2 short 3.7 volt batteries (IMR 14350). The HVD allows you to use higher Ohm carts which, when run at 7.4 volts, deliver more power. Combined with the upcoming power adapter (to plug into the wall) the HVD will (hopefully) allow using the Hercules 7.4v cart (not out yet). That won't be known for sure until the PA comes out.

Definitely start with 2.4 Ohm carts, what helped me the most was a tip I found in this forum. Making a mouthpiece by cutting off the tip of one of the rubber mouth pieces that comes with the carts and adding a 3 inch clear tube (MFLB stem in my case). I still use it unless I am out and about. Seeing the vapor coming up cues you on how to inhale. I find if I inhale really slowly and "from the diaphragm" I get pretty thick vapor in the tube. If I suck too hard the vapor falls off and too soft and it sort of sits still in the tube.

Good luck!

Thanks for explaining my last questions. Sounds like I can hold off from buying the HVD for a little bit since the 1.5 and 2.4 cart due me just fine. I bought my Omicron on last Friday off Delta 9 website and received it yesterday (thank you for the fast shipping). So would that mean I may have the v2.5 top? If so how can I tell?

Also I have questions about the batteries and charger. When I charge my batteries they get really warm, almost hot. Is this normal? Is it better to charge them one at a time or both together?

there is a $10.00 price difference between the 2.0 and the 2.5. so that might be able a way to tell. look at your receipt

It's normal, but not really good for them. The charger is really more powerful ('faster') than normally recommended for such small guys since it's sized to cover much larger cells used in other places (like Persei). Keep them as cool as you can, meaning start cold and do both together so the current shares for most of the time.

If you use it a lot, you might consider getting a charger for the smaller capacity guys, something closer to 250 or 300 mA? Doing so will add cycle life to the battery. Charging (or using) them hot will cut their lifespan giving shorter service between charges and earlier replacement.

Hey G, any way we can trade in the chrome hvd for a colored one? ill pay the difference if there is one?
Also will we see a voltage drop when using it at 3.7? Similar to the v2.5? Or will these be un regulated...i know they do 7.2 just concerned about the voltage drop at 3.7, thanks soflo

Hello again, you're welcome, glad to help when possible.

In a broad sense, I seriously doubt it. You bought a V2 not 2.5. Since nobody else seems to have an opinion on the topic, here's mine. First clue is does it have a serial number on the head matched to the serial number on the tube made for V2? If so, that must be the original head. My two V2.5s have no serial numbers since they were not part of a set and the buttons 'land' randomly relative to the name on the tube below. The sets came as sets with V2 heads.

You can see one of the physical changes on the top. The old style had the aluminum top flat up to the inset cut for the socket. You can't get your fingernail between the socket and the metal of the top. V2.5 has a gap there to catch leaks, it makes a trench around the socket about 1/3 the width of the aluminum part and about that deep (say as wide as the wire in a paper clip). Again, V2 has no gap here.

if he just bought it last friday.... wouldn't he still have a receipt?? when i look at the D9 website i see there is a $10.00 increase in price for the 2.5 as opposed to the 2.0. so why is that not a good way to know which he received??

Sure. I also assumed since he'd just ordered it and in his first post said he'd bought V2 his question was more along the lines of 'did they automatically upgrade it since it's new?'. I could be off. One thing sure, between the two of us we've given him several ways go. IMO the most reliable is finding the concentrate catch ring, but that's also hardest to describe with certainty.

FWIW I'm not at all sure what difference it makes, past bragging rights, until you break the old style socket in a V2 in which case the free replacement might be V2.5. Not a big deal to the OP either way as I see it.

If using the too-powerful charger can shave life off the battery, does that mean if you're using the unregulated top, which puts out more power when there is a higher charge, the max-charged voltage is smaller than it could be? (especially using the tiny batts)

I guess the V2 package doesn't really have a better charging setup, unless you buy a different charger and fresh batteries.
