Remember I asked about painting my Omi a while ago?my uncle finally did it. I tried to get the color sowing good but I don't have a camera :/. Anyways there it is, candy apple green with a gold base. I even had a little dent on it and he fixed that too lol.

man that omi looks insane bro. love that green!!! i kinda wanted to do something similar but thought it will take away from the stealthiness of it.

Thanks!it actually does affect the stealthness of it alil. The only reason I say that is because I noticed more people staring at me. I absolutely loved using it all weekend. I was in Tahoe all weekend and was using it in the club, casinos, everywhere! A police officer noticed it in my pocket before entering the club lol, asked what it was. I said electronic cigarette and he handed it right back lmao. I even blew clouds as I walked away (puregold)

I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm sure sooner than later they'll get informed about it. I don't think it will be a problem tho, reason being is they would have to confiscate it and gain access to the cartridge to see if it's oil. I only use puregold and that doesn't make my cartridges smell. I live in Cali there's no way I would let then take away my medicine!

yeah they would have to test it as well. and they would likely feel like confiscating it, having it tested, and writing the report on it would be more of a PITA than its worth, but if you get one that has something against you for whatever reason you could get burnt... well not in med states, but elsewhere.

its hard enough to get wax out of an omi cart as is, yet alone a cop even getting the idea that there might be wax in there, everyone knows about hash, but when i show people earwax they think it some fucking herion or crazy drug haha!

having an interesting symptom (non-critical) with the Omi (which i LOVE)....when charging, the light never indicates red...when i plug into charger (wall) it just goes green and stays that way...when i first started it would always start red on the charger and then turn green after a full charge....now it is always green. does this mean that the battery is still that strong even after hours of use? if so, that's one battery with stamina!!! or, perhaps, is there something faulty? there has certainly not been any faulty operation as of yet...just curious about the charging lights...

I don't think you're actually making contact, therefore never charging. Not critical yet perhaps, but sooner or later it will be. The blue light under the pushbutton on the battery should flash several times when contact is made even if fully charged (which it can't be if you've been using it). Is this happening?

hmmm....maybe that's why the clouds got less and less dense.....

Sorry hear about your charger. I like that with the Persei your back to using standard form factor batteries and associated chargers versus the e-cig battery.

So I had a cart fail the other night..no big deal..I drained it and reclaimed my oil from it. I was however a little curious and started to dissect the cart. I was a little taken back by what I found. I was quite surprised to see that this unit is mostly plastic. I was wondering why the choice was made to use plastic. I would think with the heat that the plastic components may off gas with the amount of heat generated by the unit. Can you provide some insight on material choices and if there is any concern with using plastic components that come in direct contact with heat and the concentrate.

So I had a cart fail the other night..no big deal..I drained it and reclaimed my oil from it. I was however a little curious and started to dissect the cart. I was a little taken back by what I found. I was quite surprised to see that this unit is mostly plastic. I was wondering why the choice was made to use plastic. I would think with the heat that the plastic components may off gas with the amount of heat generated by the unit. Can you provide some insight on material choices and if there is any concern with using plastic components that come in direct contact with heat and the concentrate.

Careful there, the main piece is ceramic, not plastic, right? The large cylinder on the end of the metal flue tube with the resistor wound around it has the major heat on the inside of it, no plastic there. Just ceramic, metal and silica.

Near as I can tell, the only place plastic (silicone rubber it seems, very similar to the mouthpiece) involved is the seals at the bottom and they are 'heat sunk' buy the metal base and only get warm, never I all that hot. Certainly close inspection of well used cart shows no signs of degradation in the seals from normal use. No doubt you can wreck them with a torch, but I don't think in normal use there's anything to worry about.

Cool. I put mine in a small vial of ISO and put that in the ultrasonic sink for a couple of minutes. Then a bit of soap and water and it's squeaky clean.

I'll bet a squirt of dishwashing soap and water in a small jar and some shaking would work about the same way.

I agree, covered with toasted oil it's hard to figure out what you've got.

I also didn't see the main heater in your photo. It should lay crosswise in the notches on the bottom of the heater core. A coil with a wick in the center sticking out both ends.

Neat little assembly. Well thought out.

There's no way into the cart that doesn't destroy something in the process. It's not reversible, the patient does not survive. Is that the question? Or the answer?
