Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

OF

Well-Known Member
I was thinking of just soaking the carts, rather than heating them. That way all the oil gets into the EC and the carts get cleaned up. Not a very long soak mind you, just over night. I guess if the end result is to scrap them, I might as well try it out and see what happens.

I've been mulling this over a bit and had another thought. The heater gets fouled with some junk best avoided. I'm thinking maybe plug the tubes, top and bottom, with toothpick ends before the flush out? Maybe even rig some tubing up so you can flush ISO though the inner section and out the flue as part of a cart clean up???

That junk might be burned on too well to wash out, but if you could get it out again, you might breathe new life into dead and very slow carts? It gets pretty grody in there, that can't be helping taste or production.

Fun thoughts for late at night.....

OF,
I've done this with cart reclaim before. Winterization pulled a lot of icky black stuff out. Flavor was better, but not good. I didn't try to salvage the cart, but maybe should have. Best of luck Jam.

I'm looking for advice from my fellow Omicron lovers on how to recover from a BAD weekend. While mountain biking this weekend, someone broke into my car. I had my only portable devices, which are also my favorite devices, since "portable" and "stealth" are at the top of my list of needs, in my car. My Launch Box, Omicron V2, and all of my goodies to fill them with were stolen. I had put on my shorts to ride, and left my pants and shirt rolled up on the front seat in my locked car. It appeared to be a quick smash and grab. They grabbed my clothes and went through the glove box. They probably picked up the rolled up pants thinking there might be cash inside, but had no idea how well they scored until they were away and had a chance to really look!

So here is my situation. I still have the Omicron v2 case, fill tool, charger, and one battery. (they were at home). I had already ordered the HVD upgrade, which is still a few days or weeks away. What is the cheapest and easiest way to get "back in the game"? If I simply wait for my HVD upgrade, I will have a short Omicron V2 at 3.7 volts, but no way to take advantage of 7.4, since my longer original tube and bottom cap are gone. Should I cancel my upgrade order and wait until the heavy duty tops are standard with the V2? I would even be willing to buy someones old scratched up device since I am mostly interested in function over beauty. I'm just really trying to determine a plan of action to get back in the game. Maybe I'm overlooking the obvious solution here, as I am still fuming mad and feeling quite violated! Thanks in advance for any guidance folks! My budget is limited or I would have already ordered the full kit and just moved on, but that is not an option for me right now.

WoooooW!. I'm an owner of a Persei and V2. I joined these boards for info on these products I paid good money for, $200 for a Persei and $150 for the wife on a V2 and probably about close to another $100+ on carts. Change out the cart every gram right? Yes, these products are far more superior to the portable vapes on the market now. The warranty alone is enough to go ahead and spend the scratch on this company, compared to another company out here in the Bay selling over priced "trippystix" crap. I try to go through the pages a lot of the time but the posts are irrelevant to the subject at hand and with limited time due to work and other obligations don't have time to read through the boards that topics got waaay off track. Anyway I see there WAS a special coupon code for V2 upgrade I missed out on. Fuck, that sucks missing out on that. I guess you gotta be in G's circle to be in the loop. I ain't asking for special favors, I'm just putting this out there from somebody that spent good money on the Delta9vapes company. Your name fits you perfectly "G" I guess hustlin' game changed.

dude, you didn't have to be "in a special circle". you only had to check in once during the week this was going on. i personally told everyone to do this at least once a day during the special. and to be honest the retail for the hvd is worth it alone. for $70 you get a mini v2 as well as the ability to up your top to 7.4v. that's for almost half what a v2 costs. he said he wouldn't do any special favors on this deal as he has already been more than generous w/ the other upgrades and his accountant is harassing him. i can understand feelin' cheated 'cuz you weren't on the boards when this went down, but just 'cuz you miss a sale doesn't mean you got hustled. it just means other people made out. my two cents

hate me, call me the devil, this is post #666 for me ;)

EDiT - i personally bought 3, 2 for me and 1 for another person and feel i should have bought 3 more just for people like you. sold it @ 50 and paid one and a half of mine off ;)

New topic: Thread adapters. I just got a shipment of the adapters I ordered last weekend from:
https://www.crystaleliquid.com/xcart/product.php?productid=309&cat=27&page=1

Or maybe it's the ones backordered (AKA 'pre order'??) from:
http://www.electronic-cigz.com/510tom6ad.html

Both promised shipment last week, one sent me shipping info, the other did not. When it got here there were both cards in the package (meaning the rumor they were the same guys with two faces seem right), the adapters inside are not as pictured, or the ones I got from www.electronic-cigz.com last year. Nor, in fact do they work at all well for our use.

I've sent email trying to sort it out (did one order get dropped since the number of adapters and my address are the same even though placed to two different companies at two different times.....). Will advise on that one.

Meanwhile, they appear to be stainless steel, which I find surprising (chrome brass like the last ones should be far cheaper to make) and disappointing (I won't be able to solder to them). Fortunately I have one of the old ones and a few other options there. However, as I said they also don't work very well at all, too much restriction is added to the draw. To work with 'self switching' e-cigs (I assume) the input air is forced around a stuff, through narrow spots in whatever base you screw it to, up through the adapter past more silliness above before it can even get to the cart. The original has slots for vents on the top edge (very near the holes in the cart above the threads). Once I filed these slots in the first adapter it seems to work.

I'm about to take it to the garden for some serious testing. I hope you folks the appreciate the sacrifices I'm willing to make on your behalf? No need to thank me really......I'm sure you'd do the same without complaint were the situation reversed...

Bad news it looks like. Only one option through two vendors I can't really recommend at this point and you end up with something that might not do a good job for you without Mister File helping out.

More later when I know more.

OF

It's been a few weeks and sorry to go back to this, but...

Mine didn't work at all - like you said - there's no hole. BUT If I leave it slightly unscrewed - it ALMOST works.

So - you suggest just filing in the holes somehow (must need a damn good file)?

So far, the only adapter I have that works good, although wonky, is the one from Gentlemans Vapes.

Has anyone tried contacting ecigz about the new adapters they got in? If they are different from the previous batch, maybe they can do something to get the right ones in stock. The ones I ordered a couple of months ago work perfectly, and it sux that they changed them just before a bunch of you got yours. If nobody else has attempted to contact them about this, I will.

I have pulled my soaking carts from the EC and gave them a quick rinse in hot tap, then a good blow through and shake, and now have them soaking in Iso, which is still taking on a little golden color. There was definitely more oil down in them, but I'm not worrying too much about the loss. Once they soak for a couple of hours, I'll take them out and prepare the drying stage. I probably won't even try to load them for a day or so, until I know they are clear of the Iso. I used to have to do this kind of maintenance in my early attempts at converting an ecig to vape thcvg, which required constant cleaning to keep one of those 510 atomizers alive under the strain I was putting them through. This feels very familiar to me. If the end result is a bad cart, then I will be taking one for the team as a don't do this at home lesson. I still have a few spares so I am not at all concerned about it. If it does turn south, I may take you up on your replacement offer G, very kind of you to do that.

Watch the tap water....at most you should use distilled and follow it up with a forced dry (hair dryer).

No need really for the hot water...you rolling the dice on if the device comes back alive after the dunk.

A good option for force drying them is DampRid or just putting it in a sealed bag of rice.

(experience gathered from years of salvaging keyboards and cell phones from watery graves...I am a klutz)

Thanks for that info Zing. Yeah, it was a very short burst of hot water to flush it, and then went right into the iso, so hopefully it won't make a real difference. I like your rice idea, and might give that a go since we have plenty of it around. I should have at least one of them ready to test in a day or two. I have dissected a dead cart in the past, so I do understand what is going on in there to some degree.

Yep....having an insight into what is actually inside for pieces and parts drives the method you need to use.

My issue is that I don't have a dead cart to tear open. The pics are great but seeing it first hand helps.

Good luck on your testing.

I am actually surprised nobody has done a EC soak for reclaim with these yet. I don't quite understand what could mess it up, but I guess I'll know once the experiment is over.

Hello everyone, I'm finally back and it feels great. Just wanted to let everyone know that I have the "Training Wheel" tubes in from OF, and am giving them out first come first serve basis. All you need to do is send a Self addressed Stamp envelope to me and I will send you out one of the 5'' tubes to you for free. Just hit me up via PM, and I'll give you a address.

I actually reclaim like this all the time, I fill a water bottle about 1/4th way with equal parts iso & EC and throw the carts i want to reclaim oil with in it for a day shaking the bottle every so often. I then double filter and evap, and reclaim.

I actually did it with nothing but EC once as well, but you could still taste the iso. One thing I did notice is the icky wick looked brand new in most cases. All the gunk and soot, was flaked out in the filters.

are these sturdy?

Yes they are! You would have to use a lot of force to attempt to break one of the tubes. You can also just saw them into 2, and have 2, 3'' tubes.

I'll definitely spread the word on this and tweet it all out!

I need help someone please! I was the Leaky Cart Master before, so I finally switched the oil type from super pure hexane oil, to QWET, which is just ethanol aka everclear extraction done with freezing temperatures. I took my oil and melted it down, but the oil WON'T soak the wick! I keep seeing a red glow whenever I press the button. I of coarse tried heating the top half of cart but still nothing. Any help is greatly appreciated, since I haven't gotten any use out of my V2 Omicron and Persei cause all my carts leaked. Now my carts won't soak the wick!!!!!!!!

(pulls whats left of hair on head off)

please help anyeone

i have the same problem with my everclear winterizes BHO.
it is as if removing ALL the plant waxes keeps it from wicking, causing the wick to run dry after it should be flowing

No problem. Sorry I wasn't clear enough. What you want to do is file a pair of notches in the top edge of the adapter itself. Across the rim into the threaded hole in the center. Not too deep any deeper or wider than the little holes above the threads on the cart is probably not buying you much. If you look carefully at the socket on most power supplies you'll see similar notches in the rim for this reason.

It's chrome brass, you could probably carve the necessary slots in with a pen knife on a bet. I suspect a good fingernail file would also do it as would any hacksaw blade you might be carrying in your boot in case you find yourself hung over in some strange jail cell.....

If you can't figure it out, let me know, I'll dig the camera out and go for my fifth ever photo?
