I think I busted my 3 day old omicron v2.
I have 3 carts and after I switched out a cartridge last night, I noticed it wasn't heating up. I assumed I had drained the battery.
This morning I popped in a fresh battery and again nothing. The cartridge doesnt even heat up. I have 3 cartridges all doing the same. I also switched out the battery and same thing.
I cleaned off the contacts on both the omicron and the carts and still nothing.
I used a volt meter to measure the batteries and they come out at about 4.2v.
When I press the button on the OmiV2, the blue light comes on. When I put my volt ohm probes on the center contact of the omicron and the threaded rim, I get nearly 0volts (with the button press)
any ideas? I'd hate to have to send this thing back....

I'm sorry, I don't agree with this. There have been some taste issues of late. Although I didn't follow all the details a week or so aback THC posted about the fix in materials/processing (extra cleaning steps IIRC) and had started a program to capture and inspect everything in process. If you got this straight from them in the last few days all I can think is in the confusion it got out somehow. "Open a ticket" on their site, I'm sure they'll replace the cart for you (and perhaps a bit more.....), it's easy enough to get most of the wax back out of the bad cart. As I understand the problem, the taste stays with the cart, not the concentrate.

If you're getting ''0"' readings off the base unit ,chances are you hav a dead ,malfunctioning 'omi' (sh*t
happens) ,which can be remedied easily thru '"Delta 9 /USPS"' w/ work
order ticket ~ that is all

yea i put in a support request. I live 10 min from the return address. meh
Problem solved thanks to the great CS. Apparently you need to oxidize the heater coil by heating up the empty cart a few times with the button.

Can't recall reading/hearing this either here on on the Persei thread. Taste issues, yes. They're being dealt with by THC as OH pointed out above.
If so how many times and for how long? Different for each ohm cart?

With you on that. We need some details I'm thinking. Last I recall there was advice to NOT run high power carts dry....and IMO 1.5 Ohms is high power.....

When testing coils` for oxidation ,we`want to stay w/in reco limits [ 6 sec (1.5's ) 10 sec (2.4's) ]
w/prolly 3-5 bursts to clean it up ~ THC Sci_ ,please`correct if mistaken

THC told me the element is oxidizing and setting into the wick and that is causing flavor issues in the higher power carts. He told me to give my 4 ohm 5-10 3 sec dry fires to allow that process to happen before its filled. I tried it with a 4 ohm cart(was having problems with others) and seems to work. He said they're working on a way to pre oxidize the elements, and its a top priority. I just got some 1.5's today, I hope they rip close to the persei so I can leave that at home.

THC scientific replaced the unit. Problem was solved and they even told me what was wrong on the spot. This is top notch customer service folks. A+

So, I was studying for my chemistry mid term while stoned as hell off of this pure gold, had the omi since the new gen carts came out in late sept, (and been high ever since) and for some reason I remember a conversation on this forum (some guy named kertong asked the question) and it was how to make pure gold oil, so I did some research and found this interesting Which I think gives very detailed and speciFic instructios on how to extract nothing but the goods, so to speak from the plant itself, let me know what you guys think of this http://www.rexresearch.com/hhusb/hh6thc.htm hope that link works, its my first post and on my phone which doesn't make this any easier lol. Anyways love my omi, had some problems with clogging and leaking, but after you master the hitting techniques, and how they can differ from strain to strAin, the problems just seem to disappear =)
ok guys, so im back from my little getaway.
Vegas baby, i finally smoked without worrying about any issues.
Had with me a Persei unit and had a blast, had lots of wine, along with double barrel fun at the tables, anxiety gone, relaxed, and feeling great.
I even scared a guy with a ecig who thought he was being all slick about covert use.

Great to hear you got some quality R&R THC.
Quick question for you, I plan on doing the trade in for the Chrome Omni when it becomes available. My charger does work, but you have to fiddle with it so the red light comes on and stays on, if you move it while charging the green light instantly comes back on. I purchased my omni kit mid January so I know the warranty end date is coming up (90 days?), but more importantly I wanted to know if I sent it in as is for the trade in would I run the risk of not qualifying due to the charger possibly not working by the time it reaches you? Or, if it is a 90 day warranty on charger, should I create a ticket?

had my first cart fail, after about 7 grams through it.
i believe that using an easy priming oil for the first load made this cart work better than my other carts. (all 2.4ohm)
this one started with PureGold. Another, started BlueDream Wax, has been less than satisfying.

Interesting observation. Normally, I'd never see that since I tend to replace with what was there. Since you leave 150 mg or so behind when it's 'empty' some mixes in with the next load, although you'd think by the seventh gram that would be long gone. The wick, however, might have been spared something early in life (like overheating under the coil??) perhaps that lasts.
Be fun to have some dry burn drill (as yet not defined by THC), followed by a mandatory half gram of PG to get the cart 'broken in' for the load to be tried. I could do that for guys too busy......
