much respect to the US manufacturing they have going on at Errlectric

As someone who has built an E-nail I don't see the need for these companies to charge these absurd prices for something that can be built at home. 500$ is ridiculous especially when they make you buy their coil/nail combo. i wouldn't consider this next gen by any means .

I have 3 Enails: Errlectric, Dnail, DIY using an Omron PID

All of them are great, but the Errlectric is by far the best of the 3. It gives me the best low temp dabs out of the 3 and honestly the nail being pressed into the coil is not a deal breaker like I initially thought. When something works really good, you do not typically mess with it and the Errlectric does not need any adjusting. Just dabbing and lots of thoughts on how it is actually worth every penny you ended up spending. I am not saying I don't like my other setups. Just that they do not give me the low temp dabs I get from the Errlectric. The Dnail is great when paired with a good quartz(puking beagle) nail. The homemade nail using the Omron PID works great also, just a little behind the other 2, but great for price point. If you want something turn key and completely stoner proof, then buy an Errlectric and start dabbing at 580 degrees =) :tup:

Wow guys finally got around to making an account and joining this discussion! First I want to say thank you to all of you haha you guys taught me a lot about e nails.

Anyways after being on the thread and reading your experiences and tried to jump into the low temp life with the 710 whip. Great e-nail and the flavor was way better than any Ti nail. Unfortunately I wanted something I could go a little hotter and with a digital temperature reading. I'm looking for a cheaper e-nail set up and plan on spending money to get a higher quality nail, so no errlectric unfortunately for this guy.

I've narrowed it down to three choices.

Gimido Affordable E-Nail $119
Divine Tribe $140
High5 $135

I put the High5 in there because I read in here a lot that all the basic e-nails are the same. Doesn't seem to be much review on them but I see 1 or 2 post saying no good but no reasoning. I priced out with shipping the High5 and Gimido are about $1 difference shipped and Gimido comes with the nail at $155

I was thinking about getting the Boss Ti 3 in 1 nail from 420Titanium to run with the e-nail but it's made for a 16mm coil, so that wouldn't work with the Divine Tribe since that comes with a 20mm coil. But I'm open to other nail designs so would you recommend a flat coil or barrel coil?

Oh btw if you guys are looking for reclaims my buddy is glass blower from NJ with a scientific glass degree. He made mine and it rocks.

Try to find something with an omron PID or research a little and there is not much to these nails in the sense of guts. I have found lots of good posts on reddit about DIY nails and if you are semi skilled. Then you might look into this route. I think even gimodo sells all the bits and will even send you a wiring diagram and will also pre program and PID you purchase through them. This might help you achieve what you want in the quality part and still save you some cash for the dab portion of the experiment :tup:

Also Auber are another setup people have said good things about and they are digital and fairly decently priced

I personally prefer a 20mm coil setup over the 16mm, but that's just me. I find having more room in the bowl makes for easier aiming.

In the end, once you get a setup, it will all come down to fine tuning with quartz over ceramic over TI.

Is the omron PID worth the extra $70 from Gimido? Thick Ass Glass has a unit with Omron PID but it's out of stock right now but $35 more and bigger it looks like.

Can anyone else off their opinion?

The Gimido Units are probably the cheapest bet and work perfectly with their 100w coils. I have the same PID as the one they offer on the 119$ box and haven't had any problems with it. If you buy their box it probably be the cheapest option. I haven't hear anything about the high5 enail though

and the Omron PID you are just paying for the LCD/looks. They perform generally the same.Gimido makes their own Omron pid's as well. They also offer a smaller LCD with a SSR inside of it (for if you want to build your own).


And btw the LOCK code to get into the PID settings for the GLTC420 is 800. They sent me the manual if anyone needs it

Since the guts are basically the same I would go based on size, looks and config. Pick the nail you want and then decide on the coil size. If needed you can always get the other size later. The Boss nail is probably the cheapest Ti e-nails I've seen, though one reason I'm hesitant to buy it myself is that there's nothing securing the coil on top. Maybe email them about that first, they're pretty helpful.

They also carry New-Vape E-nails, I have the 16mm 16 hole one which is still working great as a heavy use daily driver for the last few months though it's going to set you back ~$140. They have a dish one for under $100 though that should be good too. Make sure you set aside money for a proper carb cap, usually it's best to get one from the same company since it usually fits best. If you want a bit more granularity, you can "build an e-nail" on their site here. There should be an FC coupon code too posted somewhere in this thread.

@ogcook I use the JLD612 with my lab glass vape. It was definitely worth it for me to autotune the pid controller. Holding (>) for a few seconds will throw it into the autotune mode. The overshoot suppression is also something to play with after you have tuned it. It is an unpublished feature, but you can hold (SET) and the vape will go into a 'dimmer mode' where you can deliver a percentage of the power. Hold (SET) again to get out of it. It could be a way to evaluate a coil? You could send 25% power and see what temp it heats up to. Just an idea, i don't use coils.

I was thinking of adding a second relay (that is larger than the first) to my setup so that when the pid alarm temps fire they turn off the heater and prevent the vape from going too high. Are you doing anything like that in yours?

Do you have a shutoff timer? I have been looking at different solutions and have not found anything that I liked.

jld612 in an extruded case: i put a round power switch and fuse in the back. I went with a larger case than I needed because I might add some more to it.

I think I'm pretty much set on ordering a D-Nail SiC Nail, it's on pre-order for $20 off right now. I'm still liking the New-Vape 16-hole but I'm looking to try something else and the reviews on the SiC have been great so far.

Silika finally got back to me about the Side-Arm e-nail, apparently it's being redesigned to make it better so it's probably a few months off. If you really want one, TheDabStore has the male jointed version. Took nearly a month and a half to get a response from Silika though, no replies to my emails and it took a couple weeks to finally get an answer on Facebook.

I tried hooking up my RDK-200 to a 85w 18,000mah plasma battery pack and that didn't work. Enail was drawing too much power. Its cool they have made something specific for battery power.

Might want to pick that up if it worked with regular coils, but seems to require special lower power ones. Also seems to only have a flat coil available.

That price point makes it interesting, but finding a compact battery to run it might be a problem due to its specs. They say it pulls around 5 Amps for initial heating and then 2-3 Amps to maintain it, this puts it at the upper limit or beyond what compact batteries can do. Your plasma battery pack uses AC so it might work but you'll need to use it with an AC/DC power brick.

HashCastle has some interesting mobile options, a super compact one that runs off of a small battery pack and one with a built in battery. Downside is you're paying over $400 for either option.

The Battery back has a AC switch on it for the wall plug outlet. Its all built it to this pack.

It doesn't work right now with my RDK-200. Are you saying it might work with a AC/DC power brick? Im not too good with electrical stuff.

I love all the new battery powered enails coming out. Perfect dabs everywhere you go :rockon:
