I haven't used an Enail, but with the Sublimator Apollo v1.0 gave me the smoothest and most flavorful dabs yet. The only time my ti nail gets used is when someone borrows it.
After browsing this thread I would build my own or just get the 710 whip if I didn't own a Sublimator. The Sublimator is pretty nice for dabbing as well, but much more expensive. Don't overlook the Sublimator Enail if your into dabbing. The thing can handle 1 gram dabs at a time.
Apart from the coil and the ceramic nail, you could totally build an enail with parts from radio shack or home depot. The 710whip literally uses a dimmer switch for its heater control.
Not sure why anyone needs to do 1 gram dabs, but you can always turn the heat up on a standard enail to do the same. In that regard, with the 710whip, I noticed that max temp is 600F. Now IDK if he means at the heating element or the nail itself (one would assume at the element). That being said, I remind you that I need to bump my heat up past 750 at the element to get 600° F on my ceramic nail. The same ceramic nail that comes in the 710 kit. True, you can dab at lower temps, but I found it wastes quite a bit of oil that way and the hits aren't nearly as dense (effective).
I think they mean on the nail. I tested my friend's w/ my IR gun and it was reading pretty damn close to 600. Anyways, I took 3 decent sized dabs off the 710whip and they were what I call complete: the nail wasn't smoking when I finished inhaling and there was no pooling of the oil.
I should mention that I don't think the 710whip would work very well without a carb cap.
