My next portable on-demand vaporizer

No I really like on demand, I'm just saying the V3 I owned (and reports of many with the device) depict "on demand" as I previously described.

I was more meaning that if I have to hold a button for 30 seconds and do priming hits when a vape is cranked to 420F to get visible vapor, that isn't quick or convenient. On demand, as an industry term, has always referred to holding the button (or applying flame) to get to temp in a few seconds, and then let you control the hit from there.

Vapes that I have that display this behavior:
Thermovape T1
MFLB
Vapor Genie
Dougs Woodary Nova
Firefly
Vleaf Go
Smokestack

It's my understanding that things like the Tinymight, Splinter, and milaana type vapes are the same.

But yes, everything gives vapor "on demand" if you don't care how long you have to wait!

Ignoring that you've already done a seperate button hold warmup session and throwaway hit, that is still better performance than my v3 got over 400F.
Sounds like @Shit Snacks explained this all as usual.

The V3 is entry level with a small heater that needs more patience. The TM and the RBT vapes are in a different class and have much bigger, more responsive heaters.

Worth mentioning that all battery powered on demand portables get slower and less satisfying as soon as the batteries drain a bit. After two or three bowls I wish the V3 battery was fully charged again.

For sustainable power and quick heatup it's hard to beat a Splinter Z on a two cell mod. As for something you can actually buy new in 2022 I recommend the TM literally every week. It's just so punchy and consistent and you'll get way more quick, dense vapor from the first hit.

With experience you learn how each heater behaves and it doesn't feel like every on demand experience is testing your patience. I'm still happy to own the V3 for vaping out. It only costs a hundred bucks and really does bring more to the table than anything near its price. On demand is just more impressive with bigger heaters on more expensive devices.

Have you ever tried a dynavap with an induction heater? That device is easily the closest thing to a joint ritual and with the heater you don't even need to fuck with the lighter.

Yeah, something in that ballpark is actually what I find to be ideal for the gaming scenario you described, but with *temperature control*. Unfortunately temp controlled IHs are still hard to find (or seemingly unreliable), the two I have took a full year of waiting time to finally get to me. However, that combo gives me exactly what I was missing from my joint smoking days. I actually took a very similar way of quitting combustion by the way, used the be a heavy cig and joint smoker, then gave up cigs, upped my joint consumption instead, then bought my first e cig, shortly thereafter my first vaporizer. Smoked my last joint four years ago and never looked back.

A temp controlled IH lets me experience that joint style way of vaping as close as it gets; no pressure to finish a bowl, temp stepping with 1°C increments, killing a bowl in one or two hits is just as easy as having prolonged sessions at low temps, plus it's also very on demand, heating up takes only a few seconds, and because of the temp control feature you don't even have to care for clicks and cool down clicks. Battery lasts me two or three days easily.

Search this forum for the "Sense" IH, it's scheduled to be released at the end of this year. My IHs are from Mag Heater, there's a thread about them here on FC too where I describe their marvelous features in detail but also the level of patience needed when dealing with the maker (sorry, I'm writing this on my cellphone and linking is a bitch).

However, I do think a Tinymight would suit you well too, actually better than the Bowle. I get six to ten sessions per charge and the battery is swappable. It's known to be a beast, but as @Shit Snacks mentioned, it's great at low & slow sessions too.

An induction heater with precision temp control?:ninja:

I'm sure you are already aware of this, but you have some tricks to hit different temps with a normal IH, like keeping the dynavap 1-2 seconds more inside the heater or doing the 3 sec in and out trick.

But an IH with temp control sound pretty neat, not gonna lie.

Have you thought about buying an anvil?

Sure, but that takes a lot of work, impossible when gaming or watching porn. The Tornado (that's the name of said IH) lets me do all that without even having to look, it's super effortless and easy. It even hovers around the set temp when it's reached, I found a nice flowing rhythm after only a day of usage.

It's truly marvelous, it's almost tragic how rare those still are.

Haven't tried the Anvil yet, I'm interested for sure but don't think it can give me the convenience and versatility the Tornado gives me.

Never tried vaping during porn, i usually like to only have one pen-shaped thing in my hands during these moments:D

I'm also looking forward to an accurate temp controlled Dynavap IH. That could bring me back into the vapcap universe.

For whatever reason, I still have blessedly low tolerance despite consuming like 350+ days out of the year. I only have so many bowls in me per day. I want every one of those hits to taste as good as possible. That's why I use the TinyMight as my daily driver. It takes technique and other variables out of the equation so I'm more or less guaranteed a good hit every time.

Yes, you can recreate those great hits with a more manual device. But I only have so much mental bandwidth. If I can outsource "technique" to the vape itself, I'm gonna opt for that.

@GymWolf in case you're interested, La Centrale Vapeur told me that they just received 3 Tinymights in stock and they are now for sell online. Tiny
Thanks buddy.

Did one of the 2 devices that you ordered already arrived to you?

Do you know if it is the model with the new electronic board?

I've ordered the Bowle this month, will order the TM next month. I can only guess they sell the latest version available as they didn't have any 2 days ago and just received their 3 units. But if you want to make sure it's easy to shoot them an email, they're pretty responsive. I got the info following up on my Bowle order, they replied in a couple of hours.

Hello guys, I’m new to this forum. I don’t know what else to do and wanted to ask you for advice or your experience with magheater.
I ordered the magheater tornado in january 21 and paid 250 €. To this day I did not reveive the IH.
Magheater won’t reply to my mails and keep ignoring me.
I paid a lot of money and I am not willing to give him that money for free.
A while ago I read similar stories here…

I suggest that you go to the magheater thread if there is one and if not ask at Induction heaters threads. I think that would be the place to see if there are others with similar problems.

There are a few induction heater threads under the Vapor related Equipment thread. Maybe, someone, there will be able to help.

So i'm in search for my next portable vape and it has to be on demand, no more session style for me.

I recently bought an xmax v3 pro but after waiting for a week i asked at the shop and the vape was out of stock so i asked a refund because i was not okay with waiting for 2+ weeks.

But this little bump maybe was for the best, i was not really super convinced with the xmax but it is still in the list of possible devices that i can buy.

to get more specific advices i'm gonna list what i search in the device and what i don't care for:

I dont care about:

taste, i'm gonna vape semi-shitty weed from the streets and i can only visit amsterdam for like a week every year so good taste is on the bottom of my priorities (also i just don't care that much in general).

the device has to be easy to clean and maintain, like 5 years old kid easy, to give an example, the arizer solo for me is a super easy device to maintain, if i can just brush the chamber when i finish my load and clean a straight stem\airpath every month or 2 (or 3) i'm an happy mofo.

I'm not gonna use bubblers or water devices or anything like that, so having accessories for that in the package or having a vape that give his best through a water piece is a big no-no, i'm always gonna use it raw.

I really don't care for stealth factor or weight or shape, i'm gonna use the device mostly at home, but it has to be portable and sturdy because i have clumsy heavy hands.

Price is not really a problem.

I don't care for concentrates or hash options, only flowers.

I don't particularly care about vibration or rumble, but i kinda like having a display.

Any e-cig mod or device that need to be attached to a e-cig mod is a no-no, i don't wanna change coils and i'm absolutely ignorant when it comes to wattage etc.

What i care about:

I want the opposite of people who care about finishing a load with a couple of hits, if i can prolong a 0.1-0.2 gram load for 30+ hits with some 5-10 degrees temp step, i'm super happy with that, i'm buying a vaporizer because the price of weed here where i live is astronomically absurd and pretty shit quality, and like we said in italy, my ass doesn't produce money so smoking is not an option anymore, if i get 20-25 hits from a .50-1gr joint my objective is to get the same number of hits from a fraction of that weed.

It has to be on demand of course, so the less cooking when i'm not directly hitting the better since i'm trying to save my weed, so a device that cool down pretty fast after a puff or two.

Good battery life and repleaceable battery, if it has 18650 batteries it's better but proprietary not pricey batteries are ok too, but it has to be repleceable.
I don't care for usb-c charge since i'm probably gonna use my nitecore charger.

since i don't use water pieces, the device has to be pretty good at cooling the vapor by itself, i don't pretend to not have some harsh vapor when i hit at 230C, but surely something way less harsher than let's say a grasshopper.
I also have a knack for those small retractible zirconian mouthpieces that get used by davinci devices or the legacy, or just retractible mouthpieces in general but it is not a deal breaker, i'm okay with a more bulky mp, even as an external official accessory.

Complete temp control, better if digital but i can go with a dial\wheel, i can survive with pre-temps but better be like 5-6 that cover the 170-230 range.

I guess fast heating is a given when we talk about on demand devices, but i'm okay with a max of 15 sec like the xmax 3, but not a second more.

I like glass airpath but it's not a deal breaker.

It has to be available in europe, i'm not gonna buy from US with added taxes and long shipping times, i need the device now.

It has to be an heavy hitter when i need to, temp step is nice and all but if need to dance on the edge of combustion the device has to be on par for the job (i like how the anvil's guy describe the whole thing)

Minimum stirring between hits is a big plus for me.

These are some of the devices that i was looking:

tinymight
xmax 3 pro
airvape legacy (i like that it is basically a firefly with built in temp control)

The closest device to perfection would be a grasshopper (even without the particular form factor) with bigger chamber, way less harsher vapour, way better battery life, better mouthpiece and more comfy temp control.

I'm probably forgetting some other details but it's 2AM in italy so i'm going to bed now:D

Thanks in advance and sorry for the WOT and shitty english.
Think the xmax v3 pro I hear is a great choice for the price. I have the Davinci IQ2 which works enough for me now. I use the spacers which help out with clouds, taste and great way to save on dry. Though, I think your choice is good, I'm thinking of getting a xmax myself.
