Maybe you got some really potent edibles too, like me. If I had two bad experiences, I'd probably stay away from them too.
IMO, I don't think anyone should eat cannabis edibles and drive a car. I know I certainly wouldn't want to. That is one thing I like about vaporizing. I can control my dosage so that I can drive. I don't think that is possible with edibles.
Yeah. Even if you don't overdo it, it's still a different high than either vaping or smoking. The THC, when it gets broken down by your liver transforms it to something a bit different than the cannabinoid makeup that you get when you smoke or vape.
Typically about 6 to 7 hours.
Yup. Typically, depending on how much you've eaten beforehand, it takes about 1 to 2 hours to begin to feel it, another hour of climbing to the peak, about 2 hours spent there, and then a slow comedown for about 2 hours.
Vaping while doing edibles at the same time screwed my tolerance up pretty tight for a while . . .I think my dose was pretty high then because I'm still feeling it. I have been vaporizing, but this is a different feeling to be sure. It's not as intense as it was, but it's definitely still there.

You'll be fine, have fun at MegaConThat thought had already crossed my mind. I only have 6 doses in the freezer, so hopefully it won't affect my tolerance too much. I also plan to save 3 doses for MegaCon next month, so that will space the doses out more.
Oh its really bad . . . edible overdose may also induce diarrhea and vomiting as well. Fun stuff
edibles can be really different from vaping/smoking, for exaple my first time edibles(brwnies I made myself) I ate probably 1/4 tray or so, wich gave a good high, not too strong but I was superstoned. but a few others that only had a few spoonfulls(the brownies weren't solid enough to slice and take out, so we ate it with spoons) were just as high if not higher(one of them was convinced he was blue and had wolverine-claws)
so you can't just assume your right portion by deducing it from your regular tolerance, some people easily overdo it with edibles, but not everyone.
if I eat edibles I have a certain point where it gets harder to swallow and I have to force myself to swallow, combined with a kind of full-feeling. from experience I know I have to go past this and eat one more piece of cake/brownie/whatever.
I've never overdone it with edibles, but there was one time I baked berownies with just abv, and that gave a really lethargic stone that wasn't much fun(the only fun thing about it was watching tellsell on tv)
I don't think I ever tried edibles close in time to a meal, I don't think I could eat that much...(well, without feeling uncomfortable for a few hours, and strange-hungerlike the rest of the day)My husband and I use edibles ("medibles") frequently. We have found a source that uses a consistent recipe, with tested meds, using bubble hash. While we know the dosage is consistent each time, our experiences have not been.
The best, most consistent results we've had, were when we had the edible right before eating a meal. After a meal is just barely not as good. Without food is a waste.
I hypothesize that the cannabidoids, being fat-soluble, are really only fully utilized if metabolized along with a fairly fat-heavy meal ("heavy" as to ratio of fat to protein/carbs, not necessarily a "heavy" meal). Even the edibles that are "packaged" as a fat, like oils, butters, and chocolates, seem to do much better with food.
Oh, and with a good meal, I've had the effects last a solid 6 hours.
