Old & In the Way
This is another of Lou Reeds' earliest recordings, a demo on cassette sent to himself and left unopened, as a means of protecting his ownership of the song.

It doesn't get much more real than this, a heroin addict explaining himself.
"I have made a big decision - to nullify my life..."

At 15 yrs old, my best friend and I first turned on to pot, and we'd listen to the Velvet Underground (among other things!). So somebody has to do the right thing by blessing this page with at least one (imho obligatory) FZ-track!

His lyrics were hilarious, his compositions were quite amazing. He was a great guitarist and writer but next to that he was one of the greatest bandleaders ever imo.
Another live-performance called "Bamboozled by love"

Per usual stuffed with some raw and PC-free poetry:

"Bamboozled by love,
oh no the shit gonna hit the fan...
The way that girl been carrying on,
i swear i just don't understand....
...
I came home the other day and she was,
sucking of some other man...
Some other man!
I ain't the type for begging
i am not the type to plead!
If she don't change those evil ways,
i'm going to make her bleed!
She can scream and she can holler,
(she can) bang her head all along the wall!
If she don't give me what i want,
SHE'S GONNA HAVE NO HEAD AT ALL!!

Bamboozled by love!
Oh no, the shit gonna hit the fan..."
