Agreed...I really like how thick the glass is and the whole thing is so damn clean and pretty...but I do not understand the mouth piece either?
Edit: now I see, the hole is where it "should" be at the very front of the mouth piece. Look closely at the pic, where you would assume to put your mouth is actually filled and has a logo over it even.

Pretty sure the dark oval at the top is the reflection of where the mouthpiece has the hole. It goes up into a dome and part of that is sliced off so the whole top MP will probably fog up with vapor while hitting it.

Been in email conversation with ALT and this is the conclusion. They sent me this yesterday and I have written back to them with my concerns with their request. Like the fact that I will probably end up with no bubbler at all...I've contacted ALT with pics, but I get the feeling that because I am across the pond they wanted to palm off a less than perfect one on me in the hope I wouldn't do anything about it? Not sure, but I did feel deflated when I opened the box
Gonna have to give it a good PBW clean if it goes back. Have to check shipping costs also.
I'd happily have them give me money back or store credit instead of an exchange though, that seems to be the easiest option to me.

We have received confirmation that Mobius will replace the bubble at no charge under one condition that you must destroy the current bubbler you have. Mobius requested for you to send a video showing that you smashed and completely destroyed the current bubbler. Once you send the video Mobius will have a replacement tube sent out. Please send the video to this email and let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

I wonder if they would ever ask an american customer to do the same, with all the risk to injure yourself following their instructions and smashing a glass and what a lawyer might think about it

If they don't believe you, they can sort the shipping back, their fault for sending such a crooked tube pass two QC!
And why could you not keep both (once you get the replacement), what arm will it do, you the paying customer got the crooked piece after paying good money, so to me it seems only fair to have some kind of compensation in return, why or why should you have to destroy it?
Who are they to set such conditions following THEIR error???
Anybody would think they doing you some kind of favours....

edit: just get one of those cheap new D020 and throw that one in the air if all else fails, but I still think its completely RIDICULOUS their demand!

The reason they ask you to do that, is because they are going to do the same to it and don't want to waste money on shipping return costs, and they want to make sure such piece doesn't show up again somewhere else and people think Möbius doesn't care about quality, and in turn tarnish their reputation as a quality glass company.

I think that the whole situation is kind of FUBAR. BUT, by asking you to destroy the defective one, they eliminate ridiculous back and forth shipping charges. So I pretty much agree with @mestizo.
That being said. HAVE FUN destroying it! Take a video of it, and make it fun! Hit a home Run with it! Blow it up(ok maybe not). How often do you get to destroy a $400~ piece just for fun. When you make the vid. Be sure to show the defect and the branding on the piece clearly. If they don't make good, post the vid on the "Fuck You thread"! Post it everywhere to show others and shame both ALT and Mobius!

Thanks so much @Quetzalcoatl that makes me feel better that they know about the situation.hey, I actually PM'd mobiusglass on instagram about your bub and they (mobius) told me you'd be contacted by ALT.
I think I will wrap it in a towel and smash it with a hammer or another heavy object
