Whoever would like 2 free batteries and 4 quartz cupsand 2 extra mps pm me and they are yours free of charge unfortunately the mivape doesn't fit my needs at this time.
I just tried some wax/shatter on top of the wax cloth they provide and I got some hits from it but I felt it was stretching it out. What I could do in one hit on top of flower in my Daisy ended up being about 7 or 8 small hits in the miVape...I know its not really any comparison. I felt like it needed more heat to extract faster and give bigger hits so I may try less wax cloth or more wax/shatter or maybe a flower-wax-flower sandwich...who knows
Is the silicon ur talking about the black ring you see above the chamber when you take the mouthpiece off?I posted this a few pages back. Unfortunately since I no longer have the miVape I won't be able to try again...plus I'm out of wax now too
At the end of my journey with the miVape I was using high temps at about 375-400f with the 18to14 adapter and getting great convection hits. With the higher temps I could easily kill a load in about 7-8 really cloudy hits. The taste was getting much better in my miVape before I lost it and after using the Solo for a few days I must say that most of the taste issues I had with the miVape must be due to a non-isolated air path. The Solo does provide that conduction taste which is not as good to me, however I don't taste whatever it is that I do in my miVape and Flowermate Pro. Still, if I had the choice today, I would take my miVape with the bad taste coming through over the Solo.
I talked to Dan about my miVape and it is really unfortunate that I did lose it, because he wanted to get it back in his hands and take it apart to find out if I had a broken or defective part in the air path assembly. The air path is like 99% isolated he explained. There is a silicone connection in the vapor path at the bottom of the heating chamber and there is a wire that goes through the glass that is part of the coil so this is your only two points where the vapor path is not completely sealed. If the silicone connection is defective it could lead to the issues I was having such as the insulation getting contaminated with Resin and bad taste getting into the vapor path from the insulation heating.

I noticed on my unit that had the broken quartz, there was a big gap between the chamber and that silicon ring. That unit i only got good taste before seeing vapor...
Another thing that could potentially cause the bad taste is debris falling out of the holes on Quartz cup and into the chamber...
I did notice on my new unit whatever white material is around the glass chamber in the unit hAs some black spots or spots that seem to have deteriorated or fallen apart i think someone else mentioned or noticed this... But the unit is working amazingly, no off gassing and taste is top notch so im not going to complain
Cons: i dislike the quartz cups, i wish there was a way to load the herb directly in the unit (Or something like iolite/whispr where the chamber is on the mouthpiece but you dont have to remove it eachother me to load) so when its done u can just dump it out instead of burning your fingers trying to keep ot clean... Also the screens for the mouthpiece clog really easily blocking airflow...
Dan is working on something already. Of course there is no time frame on this right now since it was just brought to his attention, but it is something that we can look forward to seeing changed. In theory it sounded and looked great. But I agree, an easier way to fill the MP would be a great feature in a future version.
For anyone who might be considering purchasing a miVape, I just got an email from VaporNation offering up a 20% discount. Just enter the coupon code: MIVAPE. I bought my unit from them and it was an excellent transaction. You'll get the miVape for $207 and they throw in freebies including your choice of a grinder along with a choice of a storage cannister or smoke buddy or small scale.
I am in no way affiliated with VaporNation. Just wanna let other forum members know about the offer and my experience.

So...you went for a MiVape instead of a Crafty, huh?
Keep us posted. I'm looking forward to your review!Yeah, not for any real "reason" apart from the novelty, we'll see how I like it!
did you receive the 2 batteries, 2 mps, and 4 cups yet?So a week in with the new unit and i finally feel satisfied with my purchase...
I have ran about a gram of bud through it so far... Pretty much staying at 350F...
Pros: amazing taste, fast heat up time, even vaping, decent battery life, pretty durable, light weight... Doesn't get too uncomfortably hot unless you do back to back sessions
Also still having issues with the battery, staying on 80% until i move the charger or mivape and it quickly switches to 100% Full...
I made a tasty as hell Lavender live resin batch, can't wait to test it in the Mivape!
So you like (or don't mind) the capsules? How's maintenance on this vape? You are correct about that! I would say so far that concentrates is the mivapes "killer" feature.
Why would I say something like that? Because I just spent my firs weekend with the mivape.
I've used it a fair bit myself and I had some friends over on Saturday, which I mention because what I was looking for was a session vape that would make a good companion to my Grasshopper (my daily driver) that preferably would have some quality of its own that made it "worth having" and even using when not in a group setting.
My other current vapes are the Firefly and Pax2 and I have to say that pre-grasshopper, I probably smoked "most" of the time. That is to say that at home I would use my bong or roll spliffs primarily and the pax2 was my go to vape for out and about or in the car and the firefly if I really wanted to experience the flavor of a new strain. The Firefly is great on flavor, not to say the GH is "better" but for sure to say that in its differnece its the FF isn't worth the effort compared to the GH.
After the GH made me a primary vaporist over smoker, I found the pax2 AWESOME at being my "e-spliff" (i.e. mix it with tobacco and cannabis) because of the long battery life. I then decided that I wanted to replace the FF with a vape of comparable flavor to the GH but is a great device for sharing as opposed to the GH which is a PERSONAL device.
So far, the mivape is exactly that! First I also want to join the chorus of singing Dan's customer service praises. Beyond that, the same way I wouldn't say either the Grasshopper or Firefly have "better" but different flavor, again comparing the GH to the mivape I would say the same, its more "different" than "better" but neither is worse.
With flower I would say that where the mivape is "better" is the vapor is cooler over several hits, of course I would never recommend using the GH that way. This "better" is really more a function of both being excellent but "different" devices.
For example the GH's startup time is clearly "better" however I wouldn't recommend using the mivape for a quick hit at the ballgame, its a device for a "different" time.
Like for example, watching the ball game at home with a bunch of friends and some concentrate.
One thing I really enjoy using the mivape for is "caviar". At least in my circle caviar is defined as when you mix flower with concentrate of the same strain.
....... WHOLLLY FUCKING WOW. I think this will be the primary way I use the mivape, mixing some flower with some concentrate wrapping it up in the cloth (which I think cheesecloth would work just as well so I'm going to have to stock up ...). The flavor you get is amazing and plus you can temp step through the session starting mostly flower ending with mostly concentrate (the beauty of convection!) I have been setting the timer to 8 minutes. I start on 340 and work my way up to about 390 usually.
The same way I think the Grasshopper is a "personal" device, I think the mivape is a "cannasuier" device. Is my preferred method of using it labor intensive? Sure but who cares, the point is I have time to TREAT MYSELF. The mivape experience is for at home or out somewhere nice. A good rule of thumb, if you drink fine spirits out of a nice glass, that is a mivape sort of evening. If you would drink beer out of a can and booze out of a bottle, probably roll a few joints and buy a pack of cigarettes ... maybe set aside some bail money, sounds like its going to be a fun night but any vape you have WILL get lost or broken or both.
Pretty much any other situation, take the Grasshopper!
So would I recommend the mivape? YUP sho would! Who doesn't want to be in a situation where fine folks are drinking fine spirits out of fine glasses more often? Don't get me wrong, I love me a dive bar but it's nice to have the right tools for a classy party and the mivape is definitely that.
So from the perspective of a person that likes to have the right tool for the job, the mivape is an awesome tool and once you have it, I'm pretty sure you'll find/invent the job for it! Just my first thoughts.
