I used Ratchett's Pax 2 Adapter for this video. Prally coulda gotten some denser clouds, but I tried putting a drop of oil on top of my weed that coulda been a little dryer . Still nice results!

Thanks you Dan!Greetings,
Wanted to give everyone a quick update on our progress. First, let me thank you all so much for your valuable feedback; we've taken all your thoughts and suggestions into consideration and have made some changes based off of them.
SOFTWARE:
We've been testing several new versions of the software and have been getting exceptionally better results. One of the main tests we conducted was loosely packing a cup with herbs, inserting it into the miVape, powering the unit on and leaving it at 350F for 6 minutes without doing anything. After the 6 minutes we took the cup out to determine if any part of the herbs were browned from conduction. We're happy to say that the herbs were still nice and green, but very ready to be vaped (what we call the "green point"). One pull right after it was picked up was a nice, large cloud that was very tasty. The session went on for about 6 more minutes before the flavor diminished. This test was repeated several times and the results were the same and the abv was very even and had no signs of charring or burning.
Note: As many have mentioned, packing the herbs loosely but filling the cup full is the way to go. This allows for more air to enter the cup as you inhale and vaporizes the herbs evenly.
Other software changes include having "miVape" show up longer on the screen when powered on and the battery levels and charging readings have been corrected to reflect the proper charge and we also adjusted the indicator (thermometer icon - tells you the set temperature is reached) timing so it's more accurate.
BODY:
We've made the following changes:
USER GUIDE:
- Modified battery door to close flush when battery is inserted
- Strengthened hinge on battery door
- Opened battery pathway for better ease of installing/removing battery
- Strengthened eject spring for battery
- Added more resistance to the flip-top lid so it feels less flimsy
- Modified mouthpiece latch to fully retract to allow for easier removal of mouthpiece
- Added clarification on how to pack the herbs loosely
- Added clarification on how to line up arrows when inserting the mouthpiece
- Updated charging times (3 hours before first use; recharge after 50-60 minutes)
- Added clarification on the Waxy Oil cloths (use 2-3 layers each time)
- Added more information and made it easier to adjust the temperature, temperature unit (F/C) as well as how to adjust the auto-shut off and how to stop the unit from shutting down after the time is reached and shut down begins.
- Added a suggested temperature guide
We're finalizing our new production schedule and will let everyone know when to expect units to be available as well as when replacement units will be sent to our current miVape users.
As always, if anyone has any questions please reach out to me directly at dan@vaporfection.com
Thanks for your time and support.
Dan
@dormouse, you posted the url for imgur's page that displays the image, but not the image url itself. In this case, the only difference is the "i." before "http://imgur.com/ApymS27". So the correct direct image url should be "http://i.imgur.com/ApymS27.jpg". You can always get the direct link url by right mouse clicking on the image and select "copy image url". Alternatively you can just copy the "direct link" url from your imgur page.(For some reason I haven't been able to post photos successfully for a while. Could someone help me out?)

Feel free to PM me if that made no sense!
Yeah mines been sitting in my drawer for at least a week... Cant wait for the new one hopefullyYesterday I decided to give the vape a try anyway, and my experience was very much like the one @Mynameismud described. I kept the unit on for about 9-10 minutes, 320°F-325°F. That should correspond to about 185°C-190°C/370°F-375°F, according to the conversion chart. The load was about 0,12g.
There was very little visible vapor/clouds. The vapor that was there, was very hot and harsh on my throat. The unit became very hot, too hot to touch. After the first two hits, the taste became very bad, and it didn't taste like cannabis. There were some effects, but they were minor and the feeling was not a very comfortable one (perhaps partly due to the taste.)
The abv was almost all black:

Later I read Vaporfection's post. Glad to see that the issues are being taken care of.

Modnote: Edited to fix image link
mine too. It seems now that even at 260f it spikes to superhot anyway.Yeah mines been sitting in my drawer for at least a week... Cant wait for the new one hopefully
I've been using it at 270 for herb and 300 for wax and been getting pretty decent taste. I too myself looking forward to the replacement.I am still using my MiVape even though I am only using it on 255f, I really enjoy this using vape and the taste is hard to beat. Really looking forward to the replacement units and it sounds like Vaporfection has nailed down the software and they're getting great results.
How does the mivape compare to the pax2 or Davinci Ascent?
I don't own one, but since Pax2 and Ascent are predominantly conduction devices that constantly cook, and mivape is supposedly all convection (or at least a more favorable mix) it should hit harder and taste better than both, with more onboard power. It's like a Mighty
The pax2 cools down after 30 seconds of inactivity, so as not to cook the bud. Then the motion sensor kicks in when you pick it up to raise the temp back to the desired setting.
Hey @dormouse,
Thank you for all the great feedback and concerns. We would never ask our customers to pay out of pocket to send back a faulty unit they just received. If that was the case in the past, please know that's not how we do business anymore; we will be supplying return labels for all the miVape customers. Also, were you a Vaporfection pre-order? If so, the reason yours never made it out was because we stopped shipments upon discovery of these issues so we can correct them and send out properly functioning units.
I'll hop back on here later in the week with some updates. We're getting some units with new software at the end of the week, so I'll let everyone know how we progress.
Im confused on this because in the Warranty agreement it states
"Your RMA number must appear clearly on the shipping label on the outside of the return shipment. A letter or copy of your email stating your name, order number, item model, and serial number (if applicable), and nature of the problem must be placed inside the return shipment, which shall be shipped to us at your cost. Upon approval, you will receive instructions on how to proceed with returning the unit to us. We must receive the damaged or malfunctioning unit prior to sending any replacement. Your authorized return may be processed, repaired, and shipped within 5-7 business days after receipt by us."

Greetings,
We'd like to start by thanking all the customers who took some time to fill out our survey on the miVape; we've gotten amazing feedback and have been hard at work incorporating as many changes as possible.
