I have a long wait-at least I'm no longer the last one on the list. That might not be such a bad thing since it looks like constant improvements are being made. By the time mine comes up, it will be perfected.
I agree with @KeroZen , hotspots are avoidable! With my beta test Touch there was no so concentrated hot spots, after a few hits (and rotate) there was a dark ring lighter in color in the center (where is the airflow) and taste didn't degrade so fast. So, imho, the beta unit was more conservative with load and didn't cash it in a few hits like the new version does. Maybe that's cause of the new coil design which heat faster and hotter, this is perfect for wax/kief/hasch but less for flowers. my production unit coil is not flat and seems to create an hotspot where it is bent up.
Actually I'm using more the Mist (other vape Mistvape did before the Touch) and enjoy a no stirring true convection experience. If i use unground buds I flip them at mid session but I don't need to crush them. The coil he used was totally different (similar to a FF coil or to the incoming Square's coil). That's still not a no-brainer since you have to rotate also.
But the Touch rest very nice and I can get some "easy" sessions with a small load and only rotate the stem. But definitly not a vape you can use at work... at least for my job! Without to mention how most vapes are not easy to use in public cause, where I live, most peoples have never seen even an e-cig before... One of my friends was suspecting me to drink alcohol while he saw me vaping on the Guru!
Thanks @NizzyJones but I already looked at this web site and can't seem to find them.
Well I did find that title but was 10mm and I think the MVT takes 14mm tapered?
Yeah, the ID of the glass in those turbo tubes is 10mm but it's the silicone that's actually meeting and sealing with the glass joint if you use it with the touch. I would not expect it to be stable to leave it in that way but I don't have one to test.
Made a new stem, I used one of Alan's wooden stems. Cut off the tapered section so I just had 1/4" of taper left.
The glass tube forms the seat for the screen so you can adjust the depth of the stem by moving the glass tube. This keeps the herb farther away from the heat source. I got very nice results without scorching.
I rotate every couple hits. I emptied the stem, stirred and repacked. There was no vapor production from the stirred abv. Seems the first go around got it all, even though the stem shows some greenish sections.
Here is the abv
I'll try to make some of these up and get them to testers.
hey @mistvaporizer ,
it looks like the inner screen inside the glass female fell a bit below and now touches the heater..
how to fix this?
i cannot seem to be able to lift the screen back from the outside..
but opening the device from below seems too complicated.
tnx..
I had the same problem recently, and was able to grab the screen from above with a skinny pair of scissors (didn't have small enough pliers). You can use the vape without a screen (per @mistvaporizer) but I was able to get it back in place (or close to it) by pushing it with a stem. I don't think it's all the way to it's intended location, but it's working fine and hasn't moved after a week or two.
Does the new mist's need time to warmup?
Someone who just got one that also has the mi said to me there was some waiting for warm up with his compaired..
Just checking
