MiniVAP Vaporizer

I have the glass WPA and it sits in the device super sturdy, particularly if you cut down a flexicone+. The biggest downside I have experienced with the glass WPA from MV, is that the reclaim is so fine, like there are only kief-sized Scooby snacks that get past the o-ring filter, that it doesn’t collect on the sides of the vapor tube like most vapes, so you have to clean it often or else the reclaim will dribble down into that bottleneck & messes with the airflow, causing it to be like a reclaim micro-bubbler.

I ordered my SonG WPA from @Delta3DStudios, and it shipped earlier this week, but I have yet to receive it to test drive it. Having said that, I own the Delta SonG for my Crafty+ and it has never had a negative impact on the flavor, not even on the first session.
I obviously looked in the wrong area at Delta3DStudios for this SonG for the MV. They still do make it I see. I stand corrected from my earlier comment saying they didn’t make it any more. Had one, gave it to a FC member.

I sent an email to Delta3dstudios aboutbpicking one up and he sent me this:

Hello!

Thanks for your interest in my small studio. Due to low sales I had actually discontinued those products however I've just enabled them again if you'd like to order one. Although note since they will need to be freshly made there will be a week or so turnaround and they'll likely have a bit of a vinegar odor when received (this is normal, they will air out on their own naturally over a few days).

Cheers!

I wonder if there's anyone in the states who has an extra glass adapter that doesn't want it 🤔

Otherwise its slow overseas shipping for me 😩

Is there any noticeable difference in performance between using it plugged into the wall and with the battery pack?

That's sort of a loaded question. Batteries discharge and degrade over time, short and long!

With a new battery pack and fully charged, the first bowl is about the same, plugged in may heat up just a bit faster. After a bowl or two, wall connection is a better experience.

Please don't take that to mean the batteries aren't good, they are! I don't count how may loads I can run, it's plenty and I have two battery packs if the occasion requires. Again, two because I bought two full sets, not because it was needed. I use it this way more often for the portability.

At my desk, plugged in for the win! Same some battery life and cruise away.

Depends on how you want to connect, or what you're connecting to. There are a lot of ways with the flexicone + !

For HT's which I use often, it's the delta studios song, but I whip connect a lot of glass!

Im talking about their glass joint, which I plan to use with flexicone+. Originally I wasn't going to go with it because I heard it was equally as unstable as the SonG adapter (which I already have and dont really like the fit of it), but Pagan has said otherwise, and I trust his word 👍

@JCat didnt I see on Reddit that you recently bought one of these? Does that mean we can get minivap stands and trays from you? I would love something to slot my minivap into, with a little built-in stand to slot my hubble bubble onto ;)

I love it when this thread picks up! The MV community is one of the most mature vaporist groups around.

Gonna plant my new glass/teflon core on the desk today and see how we do.
I got my last MV, QC Teflon, back when you were the rep for those of us in the States and we ordered thru you. Still going strong but I have renewed interest in getting one of the latest convection versions with glass tube. Will try to hold out till 4/20 sale. A glowing review by you may throw that to the wind. Looking forward to what you have to say about it.

Acutally I seem to be having an issue. The first bowl worked great, but now when i try to use it it cycles through the colors when i turn it on, but then immediately the color indicator turns red and the device stops being responsive. I cant change the temp or even turn it off after that. It seems to be happening with both the battery and the power adapter. Has this happened to anyone else?

Noice! Did you get the teflon or glass?
teflon! hopefully i can work out this kink and go back to enjoying it asap.

Are you sure that you are fully tightening the puck/battery when you attach them to the heater?
I believe so, the battery indicator shows its at full battery and it clicked in.

Actually I think im just a stoned idiot and it wasnt totally tightened.

I have that issue too. Not sure what is causing it to lock up because my battery is always tight (I make sure to give it a compulsory twist before hitting the buttons, because I still have the habit of holding the device where it twists the battery a little when I pop the cap off), but if you unclick the battery & then click it back in, it will fire right up and off to the races you go.

I had this happen to me for the first time today as well, I think its a software glitch as opposed to a physical alignment issue because it happened to me while using the AC adapter, and worked perfectly again after I just unplugged and replugged it.

Weird

Similar to Pagan Zod, I find that if I untwist and then re-snap it in it resolves the issue. My guess of why this is happening is that the contact points between the oven and the battery/adapter may not be perfectly aligned, even when it seems like its locked into place and things should be set. Im not sure how a software glitch would cause this, but then again I know literally nothing about how it works internally.

Electrical contact point alignment:
Note that the contact points are VERY tiny so the margin for error is small.

Misalignment can cause a partial connection and problems. Usually this is from not twisting together far enough. However, I have one unit where you can twist too far and the contacts only partially touch.

If you get blinky lights, always disconnect and reconnect the battery or AC puck.

Those with connection issues using a battery, the other thing to check, but I believe my situation was a one-off, is the tightness of the battery housing.

One of my battery packs came back or was purchased and needed the screws tightened before it would make contact consistently. It was easy to notice the difference between two packs, but not sure how fast I would have caught it otherwise. I believe it was three allen head screws in the bottom, no issues since snugging them up.

Is there an agreed-upon ideal grind size for using with the flexicone basket system?
Im finding it's less about grind and more about properly filling. The small basket isn't large enough for me, and the large basket knocks me on my ass... so I tried to only fill it half way and it was a very underwhelming experience cloud-wise. When I pack it full(/so the herb cant vortex / fly around) its a great time 👍

Fortunately I've found that G43 slide screens fit perfectly, and hold ~1.3-1.4x of what the small basket can hold. Its a perfect size imo.

I find the ideal grind size to be: don’t grind at all. Pluck off individual calyxes and temp step one and two. Open the basket and squeeze with tweezers, they are brittle and pop, big cloud coming your way on the next hits.

I am a flavor chaser so this is probably not how most use theirs.
When I was a grinder, it seemed very flexible, able to handle coarse to fine.
