MiniVAP Vaporizer

Finally narrowed down my next device to the Minivap, now all that's left is the core.
I was wondering if the GQC is heating up material while it's loaded since it's part conduction? I'm looking to have it turned on at home for on demand use but also flavor doesn't matter to me as much as vapor production, especially when I take it camping and use it with small groups and such.

I'm also wondering if the decarboxylation kit would solve my problem, or how it compares to the glass core

In my experience, I didn't find the decarb kit with a QPC the equal of my QGC. Heat up time is very close to the same at the same temps, and the QGC extracts much deeper than the Peak with decarb. Others have found them to be close to the same, could be differences in styles, units or maybe temps?

You mention having it turned on at home for on demand, I think you may have missed it's timer. This unit is a session vape that has a timer. Not hitting it for a bit will put it in standby mode before it shuts off. You have about 6 minutes, but don't quote me on that. When I got my first (QPC) I found the timer to be shorter than I would have preferred. After having and using it for a while, I find it to be a non-issue.

If this is really what you're trying to achieve, there are others that can be turned on and left until needed. With that being said, the MV is a very versatile vape that really skates between desktop and portable better than any others I've tried.

I have just tried my minivap by just placing the basket in the glass core and leaving the o-ring in the silicon bit (sorry cant remember what it is called) - getting bigger clouds, smoother hits and less draw resistance as compared to attaching the basket! This could have really pushed it up another level for me! 👍😁 - got the tip of stickstones blog on the mv - nice work mate!

It's come in in all its glory

HNNNNNGG I was so hyped I shelled out 40 for shipping as a birthday gift to myself... 4 days from Spain to Alaska, worth!

Thanks to this thread for pushing me into the right direction. Doing a couple burnoffs right now and charging the battery. I'm about to hit the grindstone, this shift is gonna be a hell of a countdown!

Any tips with starting up I may have missed scouring this thread would be awesome, either way gonna be jumping in right after I clock out!

So how did it go? Love my MiniVap. It has a ritual to it that values the herb. I always step through the temps.Enjoy it and recognize it for what it is: an outstanding and consistent delivery method for flavor and effects. Glad I got mine and will likely have it a long time.

Loving it! Was a little concerned when i opened it if it was worth the $$$ (was dissapointed with 5 out of my 6 previous vape purchases, though now I understand what I want) but it blows my other devices out of the water in terms of effects and ease of use, super smooth with the flexi+. How do you guys load your basket? Also I found better performance with the larger basket so far?

Still figuring it out though, it kinda sucks that the glass wpa I ordered with the Minivap doesn't fit into the regular flexicone, it looked like it just attached to the lid like the default mouthpiece. In the meantime looking for best way to run this thing through water. I tried with the flexi and basket on my bubbler and put the Minivap over it without the lid but didn't get the best results, will keep fiddling with it for a while tho!

blue miniVAP looks cool! for what it's worth, I've been miniVAPing since 2014 and I've tried many different usage methods including various WPAs. it's probably my all around favorite vape. this is how i use it 100% of the time now:

IMG-4947-Copy.jpg

14mm jhook, small section of silicon hose, a cut down flexicone+ (fits more snugly into the hose than regular flexi), rimmed screen, small basket (or large)

IMG-4949-Copy.jpg

no lid style. I don't hold it in there between hits. you can also make one of these with an 18mm --> 14mm reducer:

everyone has their own taste and style but I don't see the need for a WPA with the mV. cheers!

Cleaning the teflon insert???
It has one brown stained area and my normal max cleaning method - - ISO and q-tip , didn't remove much of the brown.
Will an ISO soak or what, get the stained areas on the teflon insert cleaned?
Or is that permanent?
Thanks for any hints.

It's not a huge area and not that brown, but I'd like to remove it if possible.

@MinnBobber : did you try the “magic sponge”? I had good results on nearly all materials, but I have to admit I could never remove the brown leftovers around the mighty bowl. Perhaps worth a try anyways since the sponges aren’t expensive...

I want to share the latest warranty experience I had with Patricia and Hermes Medical some time ago:

The TC with decarb kit still performed good but I was finally to curious and couldn’t resist the update to a GC. Furthermore the TC got outperformed in vapor production from the hopper io I got recently so I sent the MV back to its mothership for an update. Since it’s still the “tastiest” vaporizer I own I wanted it back in my daily rotation.

I had sent my unit to Spain and got a confirmation email the same day my unit arrived at HM. Next day Patricia had sent me a photo documentation of the cleaning and disassembling process which parts had been replaced. She reassured me the old battery was still in very good condition after testing.

I was proposed to calibrate the GC to higher temperatures since I never use blue and blurple. So the corresponding temps on my new GC are now:
250(red)
235-230º(green)
220-215º(pink)
205-210ºC (blue).

The RMA was one of the best warranty processes I had been through, big compliments for this.

Since I live in Europe I plan to use the MV for traditional solventless concentrates which should work better with higher temperatures. I tested with loose leave and 235C seems to be hot enough to get most of the goodies out. The competition in my vape arsenal is quite hard so we’ll see if the tuned MV can still keep up to secure its place in my daily rotation.

As a side note: the standby-timer can be set to anything less than 30 minutes before the device switches to blue. I didn’t ask if the shut-off-timer after blue can be set to a longer period but I guess this shouldn’t be a problem.

Is the latest quick core used in all models, or only the limited editions? The website shows "The latest Quick Core Technology" only on the MV Limited Editions page. I'm about to order a second MV with some custom settings and want to make sure that it has the same core as my current limited edition MV. I've queried MV support, but they typically take 3 to 4 days to respond and I have the VAS itch NOW... 😀

Love the MV still - my second favorite vape next to the VapBong. Mistvape Imp & Dynavap M + IH next in line.

The MiniVap is so perfect for group sessions in the park and great for newbies too since it has that familiar cup-like form factor. One of the largest bowls around as well!

Hi, maybe I'm just late to the game but I noticed a change in the MiniVap store, no more Peek Quick core and the Quick glass core is the cheaper option now cause they replaced the Peek with a Quick teflon-glass core which is the more expensive option at the moment (10€ more than the QGC), here a copied and paste sentence you can find in the "additionnals informations" you can find for every MiniVap sold on the website explaining the 2 options you have: Teflon-Glass (convection), Glass (convection-radiation)

Is somebody already tested that new teflon-glass core? I have a single Glass core MV and a portable peek core, I like both but I would update the peek core with a new one teflon- glass core maybe,... if it's worth it... any input, please, @stickstones ?

I received my custom LE MiniVAP yesterday; this is my second MV. It has a sleep mode timeout of 15 minutes vs the normal 10 and the new temperatures are 210°C, 220°C, 235°C, and 245°C (vs the original 180°C, 195°C, 210°C, & 225°C).

It's perfect! Now I use all of the temp settings instead of just green and red. In most cases, I'll now start on blue and finish on green. The new red works well for finishing herb that needs a bit higher temp for full extraction. With the original temps, I'd describe red as being "fair" for concentrates; now it's pretty good!

This thing is such an underrated beast. I actually keep mine plugged in and use it more like a log vape with no lid and a naked basket. It can do massive lung-busting hits as well as small flavorful sips and it can hold its own against some of the top desktop vapes. Flavor-wise, it actually runs neck and neck with my Herborizer, which still surprises me 'cause... silicone. As others have pointed out, it's really best viewed as a desktop vaporizer that can be made portable with the massive battery pack.

If I had to limit myself to just two vapes, this would definitely be one of them.

Wow, very nice! What would the other vape be? :)
