MiniVAP Vaporizer

I've started using the metal basket from the arizer EQ in place of the two sizes that come as standard. The slightly more angled sides seem to allow the flowers just a little more exposure towards the edge.. Seems to do a better job.. Though of course, more thorough testing needs to be done.. I'm on it.

See.. Sorry for double post. Didn't seem to let me add a quote to an edit.

I take it you have one metal linered?
I gotta get on this wagon. I haven't tried overly much to remove it but my Teflon ring seems bloody well stuck in there. I've only tried my pinky, and not so hard.

I have the stainless steel ring but I don't use it anymore, I prefer the teflon ring, for taste. I like having two MV's, one runs on low temp, the other at the highest, so I can chain taste with clouds !

Be very gentle when you remove the ring, I prefer to use something soft that won't scratch it.

Almost there...
Just finished reading the whole thread!!
WOW, quite a few ups and downs since it's release.
Luckily it appears as if almost everyone eventually got sorted out in the end!

The add a few pages back with the "MINI" code on said "Meet the new Mini Vap"
Anyone know what/if there are any notable changes?
Or are they the 25 Euro upgrades, so a longer auto shut off etc?

Mine is finally on the move home!!
Hope it is all accounted for and works out of the box!

Yeah it did have a few rocks in the road, but they do seem to have been relatively isolated as I'd have thought otherwise there'd have to have been a lot more disgruntled customers voicing their negatives. Did you not find however that one of the first "reviews" of the MV from the dude that meets the creator Jorge in Amsterdam or some such piqued your interests as it seemed a super positive response? I think I'm remembering correctly. I loved reading this thread on my night shift. Like a good book. Awesome people.. Awesome(if still somewhat temperamental) product with imho just the right amount of versatility.
The light of the rear section still baffles the sheeeit outta me at times. Haaha

Yes @tepictoton review did help a lot in my decision!
I would still like to know what the "New" parts are though.

Had minivap for 2 months now. Early concerns about amount and flow of dust particles up the silicon tube confirmed by result of sticking earbud down tube end nearest mouth. Heavy amount of debris stuck to bud. This is at constant green setting, using mesh bowl, slow draws.
Be interested to know others experiences.
Have also got volcano and a plenty. Was really expecting better with minivap. 20+ years using with tobacco so any vape def better but convinced minivap flawed.

What exactly do you use? IMO the best option is wire basket, then round screen fitted into flexicone, flexicone, then cover, then silicon tube or short mouthpiece.
The critical piece is the round screen which snaps into the flexicone. It should keep 99% of particles out.
I wasn't aware of this combo until mentioned on this site.

With the "module" of wire basket, screen, flexicone--you can take direct hits OR in 10 seconds move the module into a water bubbler (basket up/ flexicone down) and run the vapor thru a bubbler. You just invert the mini and place directly onto basket.
Below from top to bottom: wire basket, screen snapped into flexicone, flexicone.
Without water, flip it and attach cover, attach tube, enjoy

Thank you, I've seen the bubbler mentioned and def an option to improve the hit quality and experience,
but having to return to bong style delivery system is a step back and not really appropriate for me now (ritual aspect is fun but not hugely convenient). I already use minivap in the way you mentioned first.
The particle build up is quite considerable in the tube, despite all available options that come with the minivap as standard. 'Normal' use of it (as in the marketing info) has to be very damaging to the lungs long term - making medical grade components rather pointless.
I was torn between buying this or the pax and wondered what general consensus was on the best option (with minimised health risk the overriding factor)?

Yeah sounds like you neglected that vital screen. I've forgotten to place the screen with both my smoke shower and Fbomb setups resulting in ground up flowers rushing into and messing up my glass. Since my glass was already tacky with reclaim they needed a good isoing out. I felt like a tool! Lol

Rob.. I'll test this out as I've never bothered to really use it without a water tool. Can't see why it'd be getting a mentionable amount of debris.

Nope, I use it with the screen - and have replaced twice to ensure its where it should be and prevent gaps. The matter on the bud from the tube is a build up of particles.

Oh right. I don't believe we've had anyone mention this in 70 pages so kinda strange. Firstly how fine a grind do you use and secondly do you Suck like a hoover? One of my units seemed to lose draw of power or some such and this resulted a drop of I'd guess 75% heating on each setting.. Sent it back and got one with the newest firmware and it works a dream.. Like I said I'll beast my MV dry tomo to see if I can get lots of debris to catch in the.. flexicone tube? Is that what you use Rob21?

Baskets, screens, cones, covers, my question is exactly how many pieces of paraphernalia does one have to futz with to get high, like to change out a bowl of herb with the minivap? Also cleaning/maintenance?

I guess it does come across that way but it's really just as straight forward as a solo stem.
As for cleaning/maintenance.. The unit stays perfectly clean.. I use mines mostly inverted(so gravity is working against the unit getting dirty) but having said that, I've used it right way up with my fbomb plenty and no discernable fall through from the basket.

Yes, flexicone. 90% of time on green setting, then lower.
I've varied the grind to the amounts i know are workable for vapour to be produced, and based upon comparisons to images in google.
Ive also varied inhalation, have purposefully kept it low, just above when vapour snakes out after removing mouth from top of tube (that 'almost not pulling it up' feeling, and as a bonus, depending on basket fill, this always give stronger intensity to vapour).
I agree this issue isnt common in forums, I've only read of this concern regarding vaporisers in general in a few threads (less frequently than concerns over aluminium, the glues used and ceramics, which were previously my biggest concerns and steer to what I'd purchase), but in my experience the minivap is particularly prone to this potential problem. I sometimes wonder how safe long term it is inhaling from a food safe plastic bag, but that feels better than clogging your lungs with large particles.

Rob 21, that seems so odd as I had a rare particle inhale until I snapped a screen into the flexicone and then the basket. Never one particle since then. And I just use the 2" hard mouthpiece, not the 10" whip.
You're using the flexible flexicone, correct--not the hard plastic one?
I would say that any particles that make it thru the whip certainly get caught in the mouth/ throat and never
make it anywhere near your lungs.
Do you snap the screen into the flexicone?
And then snap the wire basket into the flexicone, flush/tight against the screen?

Unless your bud has a large amount of dust, nothing should get thru the screen. I assembled the flexicone module and sucked directly on the top of the flexicone as hard as I could and zero particles exited.

Your doing something basically wrong. Never ever have I had anything get through the screen into the flexitube tube. Never.
