I have a Herbie and a Minivap. Almost two years of Minivap use ,one unit died, but the unit I have now is a later version, heater seems a bit stronger. Got the Herbie a few months ago.
Flavor- they are both great but I would say different. With the Minvap the flavor is exceptional, as someone who is using it, or someone who is smelling the vapor second hand. The flavor matches up with the smell of the raw herb, just delicious. You can get to the point of a slight popcorn taste near the end of the session. With the Herbie, you almost never get to that popcorn taste, but the flavor is less, I think it has something to do with the cooling and the distance the vapor has traveled down the long whip. As the vapor cools the flavor is less intense it seems.
Effects for the Minivap vs Herbie. The Herbie is all around more powerful than the Minivap. Also, the vapor is always cool in the Herbalizer, so you don't get a dry throat. BUT you can't take the Herbalizer in your backpack.
Thanks for the info. That was what I was expecting. I don't believe there is anything that can touch the MV in taste, but I have to admit the herbie is my new infatuation. The MV has been upgraded with a decarb. ring last week and I agree that the vapor is produced a little quicker. Using the MV with a whip, the temperature of the vapor is no problem for the throat, but knowing how long and hard to pull for a perfect hit takes some practice. Sometimes I hit it for about 7-10 seconds and all i get is flavor and a little cloud on exhalation. Then I take a hit about the same size and I am coughing my lungs out because the hit was so big... mmmmh that vapor though!
( i know the first two puffs are usually only flavor/little vapor)
The blinking lights have more or less stabilized on my unit. When started up it goes through all the colors, and when on battery, the battery-led sometimes starts off at blue and goes to green/orange/red shortly afterwards. This seems normal.
Now, changing the color of the temperature is already tricky. If you hit the plus or minus button when it is blinking, it does nothing, you have to hit the plus/minus button right before it blinks or in between to make it shift to the next level. Is this the same for anybody else? (not an issue, just a little awkward)
Going from green to red also takes quite a while, which I thought to be a little odd. I'll do a timing of it to see if it's comparable, but it seems odd that a 10ºC increase takes 2 or more minutes to be reached.
And sometimes the thing just craps out and doesn't react anymore (happened 2-3 times) and only comes back after cutting off the power.
I enjoy the minivap a lot, but not the prices of the minivAPPLE-store

I recently got the new flexicone+ and silicone cone. I was using the old hard silicone cone since day one.. It's a pretty significant difference! The new flexicone seals perfectly, major vapor first pull. I have to pull slower now since the air is much warmer. I also tried the cone+basket for water tool and that was amazing, fun fun I'm so happy to finally have these updates. I don't think I need the decarb kit, this vape hits even harder now... wow

BTW: in an earlier post I mentioned the supposedly long heat-up time it takes from green to red.
I was wrong. Did a timing session and it took 6 min to get to red straight from cold and 3:30min to go to green from cold, plus 2:30 to get to red from green.

I've started using the metal basket from the arizer EQ in place of the two sizes that come as standard. The slightly more angled sides seem to allow the flowers just a little more exposure towards the edge.. Seems to do a better job.. Though of course, more thorough testing needs to be done.. I'm on it.
The only negative thought I have on the MV is the spoiling effect it has had on me. I find myself neglecting my other vapes, and waiting till I'm with the MV. My others are the pax and ff. To compare those to the MV would be like a Ford to a Ferrari. They both generally do the same thing, but one (the MV) does it's job in only a way one who has inhaled from it can understand. Don't get me wrong the pax and ff are awesome and deliver nice vapor, but we are talking completely different leagues of vapor quality and medicated feel.
With my unit I got two herb baskets, one large and one small. I have found for someone with a high tolerance that I like to vape the large basket on green, and when finished I pop in the small basket and turn it to red. To finish the red session takes some will power, but if you can make it through it you will enjoy a over medicated feel that I seem to not be able to replicate with anything else. Anyways just rambling. Happy vaping

I know what you mean man! I've had two of my buddies like a couple of burst couches with Lil Miss Mini V.. Or indeed her heavy yet svelt bigger sister.. I can almost pass out sometimes after a monster hit and kinda white out. It only lasts a sec and only with some strains. Beautiful whack it delivers every time. Like you said, its a different kind of vapor.

Hi, since I switched from the teflon liner to the metal liner I noticed clouds comes faster but I noticed too some taste differences:
- the teflon provides a better taste through water but dry I have difficulties to taste my flowers and it was difficult too to get a good hits without coughing.
- the metal liner provides a better taste dry (since I get it I enjoy again the whip!) but (maybe it's my mind) it not taste as good as the teflon through water, but in both worlds it produces clouds faster!
I putted the little teflon rings on the metal liner but it don't stay in place when the MV is cold.
If you load the little basket with a small amount of dry fine grounded flowers and put it in your MV on red level 1mn before to start to hit you get a big clouds at tthe first hit!
More I use it more I love it, clouds, beautifull taste, easy to load, easy to clean!
It might be better with a totally free t° choice and a shorter heating time (at least for the green and red levels), wait and see!

Having just received my MV, and after seeing that many of you combine glass, I also ordered and received a Pinnacle WT. I never needed water with my Cera or FF, so I'm somewhat glass ignorant. Thus, I'm not sure how to connect the PWT to the MV. Would someone please give me the inevitable "duh" moment?

Since I got the metal liner i powered on my Cloud+ only one time, the MV can extract goodies really fast now, I can kill a small basket in 3 big hits(red level) and abv comes out as dark than my cloud abv at +2.00 pm and it tastes much better than my Cloud+.
where the cloud+ win is the impressive vapour production on the first hit but now the MV is not so far!
I use a 14mm male glass joint (broke from a WT), I connect it to my MV with a small piece of large silicone tubing (which fit around the black hole on the cap, for a better airflow) but I think you can make something using the news flexicones...)

So my my friend bought a Minivap and brought it down to my house and boy did it piss all over the top of mine made my black MV seem like a completely different shitey vaporiser ,
I'm so disillusioned with Minivap/Hermes they took ages to reply to me again , my unit is back with them and they said will replace it but I don't even care anymore they have rushed my order back in May when I asked for a refund and gave me a faulty unit n made me wait 5 weeks for my battery how do I no my unit is not a refurbished one having never worked properly
My MV never produced clouds unless on red setting but I didn't complain as I had been dabbing the last 2 months ( guilty of being a dab head MV has had 1/2 hours use max)so wasn't unit il I used my mates green Minivap I realised how shit mine was I've only used those 2 and he bought his after my recommendation :d
I may put this new unit up for sale before I use it and just cut my losses with Hermes I no it's being replaced but what if my mate didn't buy his I would be clueless

Hits are soooo incredibly smooth, I think this is also due to the diffuser, you can even put ice cubes in it, which I have yet to try, but the vapor wasn't hot at all even on the red setting.
It's already godlike, but next time, I'm going to add some lemon juice to my bong water as well... Shit that's going to be amazing

The hits are so smooth you barely realize how much vapor you're taking in. I used it after a three week break and within 5 minutes I was so incredibly high that I had a mushroom flashback. A very enjoyable one though.

Good to see more and more peeps joining up. Validation of this awesome device. Yeah there are issues with some units (as is always the case) and I feel for anyone who doesn't get a quick and easy resolution from their choice of retailer.
I for one have had issues and they were dealt with incredibly fast. 3day turn around.
Vapefiend.co.uk was my choice. Though have had a unit sent directly from hermes also, though this was organised by VF.
