MiniVAP Vaporizer

Green means the charger is powered up.

That green light should turn red when the charger is under a load.

That green light has never turned red, so should I assume the battery is fully charged?

But technically, it would be under a load when put on the charger even if it was fully charged, am I correct, as current has to be run through the battery initially? So it should briefly turn red?

If the battery was fully charged it would not turn red. Those batteries stay charged for a pretty long time. In about a week of not being used they might turn the charger red for a bit.

So it is probably defective, due to the button problem. It suddenly stopped working after the button fell off.

I decided to get the device from a US distributor, Authorized Vaporizer Dealer, and they do warranty service on the MiniVAP. It was much more expensive but I do not have to send the device overseas and through customs. I guess I need to do some cleaning as I am concerned about returning it to them via UPS. I already sent Authorized Vaporizer Dealer an email, but I am not expecting a response until Monday.

Unfortunately, I cannot take the device with me to chemo, as it is not working.

The battery can be tricky to seat in the charger. Make sure the battery seats properly in the charger. If the charger stays green no matter what, and will not turn on, it is most likely defective.

Seems like you can't press the button, I too had a button felling off one of the firsts days, but then I put it back carefully and it never happened again. It was a little harder to press it right after that though. I guess you have been unlucky there. Does it clicks when you press it ? I would try to remove it carefully with a toothpick then try to power on behind.

Hello y'all I have been flying in two ways... Medication on the ground by minivap... And para motoring round. My minivap has been trusty good... No more combustion. The mini is king of porta vaps.. I've two just in case. I have mine on all day now since march. I found..

1.The heater core is supreme.. The best tech period. It self regulates! This led to my next try...

2. Leave out the electrics... This uses power..lots... The heater draws in a downwards exponential cure. Starting very high( noted by big volt drop), ending at bugger all!! I got 5-6 hours run time* see note 4.

3. Plug the minivap onto base to start up to extend battery life. Use base unit whilst at home.. It gets hotter, bit only. But that gives ready to roll full charge batt. 2batts is a 12hr run..

4. Rebuild the battery with good cells. The ones supplied died on me in 1 month. Lith batts not like to run till cutout.. But with the 18650 cells I got, the battery pack is just as good 5 months later.

5. They say not to cover this vap. But I find it vapes hotter, fully cooks the bowl, it lives well in my inside jacket pocket. It sits there waiting till I need a whack.. Next is a harness that I can use to strap it to me.

6. It makes clouds and drops ya.. So it's the portable volcano..

7. Use a long silicon hose.. It's great. I can vape tobacco on my bike in a plane, on a train, in the cinema... Need a bloop..and on my paramotor! I can reload tobacco into it in flight, using weight shift for turns.. Makes nice cross country flights. Just suck like a cig! It's neat and it warms ur hands up in winter..

8. Last tho not least, should be first.. The taste is supreme, the true flavour and no glass?!

So with all this abuse I can say this vap is best, no electrics to fry, even thorough vape, clouds etc. The energiser bunny of porta vap..I'm happy with this, my VG wakes me up with tobacco flavour from heaven whilst the machine warms up!! Then mini is on till I sleep.. The Mflb is my sneak in bed vape or sneak any where.. I modded the battery to a big 9aH nimh which wakes this box right up.. Carefully it will burn! These are my vapes and mini is the one that picks up where Mflb ends.

Just had a cough attack.. Big cloud filled the little room up! Still coughing what a hit it gives! About 12-16 hits with 6-8 big cloudy ones the rest is visible and good. Taste is good for up to 9-12 depends on your fill type and quantiy. This one puts solo to pasture. But solo returns as aroma therapy.. How's that. Oh I wore down my batt tabs, those lock ones.. But a drop of Supa glue is all needed to restore a solid lock.. Fills the dimple in. Just let it air dry.. Do it before bed, fumes gone in 4-6 hrs..

I clean my chamber when I clean the intake path, 1x month. And clean cone/tube assy and screen every day or second day.. Five min job for quick clean and ten mins for full cone/screen clean.

Boys only fly sober ok.. Leave those greens for ground activities, like tv. Oh if I ever get terminally ill then ill still be able to sneak this Mflb in the hospital.maybe even the vap. My boys will bring my med.. Life is fun so have it but harm no one... Mommy you were right. Minivap on boys you have the best.. Try the above if you dare, but do leave Pcb in.. It helps.. To contact the batt!!

To mod:
U must cut one trace on board. Use the one which goes to batt pin, not the positive one though. On positive side you desolder the thermo fuse!. Your heater core goes to batt plus pin on the fuse solder pad, leave out fuse. The other heater wire goes to switch (push button) metal frame. Basically isolate digital electrics and wire heater to battery pins.. Don't solder your pins! This will stop spring action. If you not like this mod you can go back.. Just add fuse back and re join the cut trace with a wire. This voids warranty too so those with cash to burn might consider.. That said its robust and only stupidity kills it..

It clicks, but it does not make a clicking sound.

I removed the button and I tried putting the button back on multiple times and it has yet to work.

The vape suddenly shut off when the button fell off and has yet to turn on. :(

So sorry to hear about your MV not working :( That is quite disappointing...

So sorry to hear that.. Yes I read earlier that someone suggested you remove the plastic piece that fell off, I had mine off for cleaning, automotive shop is grimy.. Buttons collect this so well.. That's why I not use control board too.. I made my air intake filter to keep oil and grime out of heater and vape path.. So remove the button cover. Check battery is charged, volt meter on pins show volts. Any way does you just get a -voltage if reversed. When charger not work push battery down as you wriggle it in its seat. Wriggle left to right. If batt no light red.. Charger is bad or batt is full, like lost clusters said. Give battery a charge using adapter and aligator clips to opened up battery. Use bottom circuit board pins. Red is plus. Charge with attention but there is a battery management board in there which actually control charge to cells.. Never direct charge cell if you not now how! Fire... This board can fail I had one go.. Could be just that! If you buy protected 2200maH cells you join em in series and it works just as well. Just charge each cell before u build to ensure balance.. Charge to full.. If you have more than 14.8 volts on battery insert it and push both buttons, use a ball point on bad button, use not write end, there I silicone inside the tube of button. A dead test for button is to line up pen to plastic tube and bring near to your ear, then slowly apply gradual pressure until it stops to move.. It should have a popping sound just before it stops. That's the membrane popping and the contact smacking the other contact.. Hear that and it's 90% that switch is ok. Reassemble button cover, it can go on in any way but in one way it pushes in easy. Remove and rotate by only 90degree increments till it works smooth once clicked in. In any other way it will click but it clicks on lock tabs of plastic tube! Makes u think button works.. Push hard enough and it will lock or bust the tab. This sets button cover off centre and makes it hard to find contact. Else you have mondayitis switch.

The button is made on a Monday eh! It's rare to get bad button. They like the deep insides of computer keyboard, well tested tech by now. I have buttons if you need.. I not use them anymore. I run mine full tilt. If you not tech savy then below is not recommended ok. You need good solder skills. I fixed blown boards for two dudes already they had fuse issue and one had a dead short across digital rail supply! The components used are good Q indeed so you sure unlucky. Heavy hearted I can offer free repair if you want to send it over. I just need you to send it in a reply paid post bag. Like ems bag with return ems bag filled up by you with your address ok, then I am not making clerical errors which sends your vap on goose chase. You pay super fast registered mail, get insurance too.. These vaps are $$$$.

Here is my work address:

Skype my mobile Nr +61418337057. Australia eastern times 9:30-very late most nights.. Fixing automotive control circuits.. Rare to find spares prompts repairs.. Even reengineer.. Some of those 80s cars... Mostly them Japanese ones..

I'll fix any minivap these are best vapes you know that. Pure convection takes time to master not using too much flower or tobacco, but does it deliver eh. In spades. Worth the fix. Maybe manufacture fix em quick see with them. They have great customer support.

You can fix button faults easy, look at the traces on the board where button is soldered to. These buttons have a frames which is also soldered to Pcb. What you look for is the pins that the button shorts out when pressed. Usually diagonally opposed pins is the ones, either two. Not on same side... They use 4pins to electrically connect.. Pick two in diagonal and solder wires to them. Now you can test the board... Press the good button at same time as you join the two wires if it lights the button stopped. You can also dead test with ohm meter on the pins whist someone else press the button the ohms should read below .9ohm (not 9). It should dead short! If it does the controller board is suspect.. Usually a small issue too. It employs micro controller, fairly robust.. Sometimes the manufacture process does not get all pins properly soldered.. So try to desolder, with vac pump desolder tool. Then re solder all pins, pray that works.. Run alligator clips to battery pins on Pcb. You can test with a full charge. Open up battery and then you can clip to pins inside on the round circuit board on top.. Or use bench top power supply tv techs use them.. Set to not more than 17v use 16 to be safe, you can test easy this way.

There is a thermo fuse.. Using minivap with live electrics( I left my controller out! Runs hotter and better in my opinion, but no low temp avail in this setting.

Clean your charge pins... Don't drain batteries too often them cells used is its Achilles heel. My new cells out perform till cutout always. I wonder when it will go bye... I'll find out at worst time like always.. But I have another rebuilt batt...he he he. Check air input filter, it can clog.. Make sure of airtight seal on top! It ramps up vape when right. Not need big draws. Also check for solid spring action on minivap to battery pins connector, mine wore out once already.. Used some out of an old Sony radio telephone from the 80s to fix my pin fault.

Oh I mix my flowers with tobacco... Old joint habits from holland die hard. Save flowers for round clock vaping on Sundays.. Nice effect for those who like. But at night it's straight up no mixers.. Use best flowers for nights, poor grade for days, not wipe out the weekend that way. Work and fly days it's Dr. Pats pipe tobacco... Sweet combo.. No combustion and my lungs feel great in less than half a year! I have more power to bike with too.. Pretty fast commute... Puffs of vape as exhaust..

Thanks for your like.. These vaps, stop but its always stupid reasons easy fixed.. With lithium batts so easy and cheap now compared to past.. Easy to make workaround chargers till new ones come.

Invest in hobby grade multi chargers of today, they get you out of jail, even on my ebike batts..

Making pancakes... Put in canna butter and make my new vape.. Instant warm up convection type, should last for 1day plus on a batt like mini vaps.. I'll put Picts up if I can work it out! That's where I noob... On pc...

Thank you for all of your help.

I am an EE major and I understand most of this. I do not have a voltmeter, but I can get one from a friend to test out the connection.

I do not want to send my MiniVAP overseas as that is risky as it goes through customs.

I really appreciate the help. Thank you so much.

I am considering getting a second MiniVAP for backup, due to an actual need. I also live with chronic nausea and vomiting. I am not going to get a second MiniVAP until the current MiniVAP is repaired.

The vaporizer has top-notch electronics and design for a vape. However, the design is not foolproof, as it requires troubleshooting if you are having an issue such as me.

I've had my button fall off on one side, and if not lined up correctly when you put it back on, then the buttons don't work and you can't get it to power on (I don't think this is your issue based on the prior messages, but thought I'd post so you'll double-check). If put back on incorrectly, pop it back up and make sure the orientation of the button is correct and all the little "slots" line up.

What's the general consensus for this Vape...is it worth the unbelievable price...it looks so tempting with people calling it the best Vape in the world, and some also say it beats Volcano, with its new technology???
Honestly I find all this Lil hard to believe

I love this machine. For me it does is the best.
I have been a proud volcano owner for years, now he is taking loads of dust while I'm using the MV 24/7. I'm not interested by any other vapes in the market anymore.

Thank you for all of your help.

Did you tried to power it on before you replace the black button on top of the switcher ? Directly pushing on the switcher ? As I said I had a kind of similar problem, the button was hard to press but working, it was close to no working. It's about the alignment, as it has been said, it's very subtle.

I tried pressing on the switch mechanism several times and it still did not work.

At the price they are asking, this should be coming out of the package without these issues. Hopefully the store you purchased from comes through for you, so you can start enjoying the device...which sounds delightful when it works.

Authorized Vaporizer Dealer/Slide4less better take care of this issue.

On their website it says that they provide warranty service for all of the that they sell on their website and that the device can be shipped to them.

I sent them an email but I need to call them in the morning.

My mini, the buttons or light do nada. It's just live. The silicone seals best. I use med grade silicone " condom".. Will edit with pict update next refill.

First tha rip..

Now a pict of silicone condom.

That's with battery at 5 hr mark. Vapor tapers by 6hr to half that you see here. Also the batt volts will be near 13.8v so not far from cutoff.. 30-50 mins depending on environment.

Pipe tobacco does that, does it cloud! Fun to simulate smoke in an engine bay at work, and hits the nicotine home. My vape runs hot, so hot my ABV I'd say is black brown. I squeeze all out of a load as I work I hit it.
Have vap in my jacket tube comes out of top see vid. Also can ride my bike or drive my car and enjoy my tobacco. Just suck like on my old ciggie back in the day. My lungs feel great and I have more energy.

So good night y'all, happy meds boys. My Mflb and I are busting a move to bed.

So it's hands free, and 1 bowl on tobacco doesn't produce visible vapor for long.. With pipe tobacco it lasts longer and clouds... But if one watches close enough vapor is spotted. The point was to show that this vape is truly hands free. Just reload at the lights. What I love bout this vape is two things in particular.. 1 the fac that one can load up, keep it on, and when it's hit it will deliver. It won't slowly roast away the goodies. The taste hangs round till hit. 2 if hit very slow and soft after a cook suck of 2-3seconds let's the bowl go 20-45 percent more. The draw back of silicone tube is it smells too nice of flowers.... Gives your game up to sensitive noses... And that minivap will inhale your aftershave, so use deodorant sparingly on armpits. Get your short silicone tube, vape away until its loaded with resin... Dip the tube in hot milk and pull it up, squeeze and roll then dip till its clear.. Use only flowers, no tobacco ever on that tube... That milk will be killer so drink when you can write off a day, or two... Blew me away.. Once some tobacco was used, made me sick.. Too much nicotine see.:puke: So use only:bigleaf: ok..

I get my MV today, is it normal that it takes several minutes to heat to red level? (more than 5 and less than 10 I didn't count)

yup,

I prefer letting it heat to red for a minute or five, then turn it down to green and it will be ready to go soon.

If you do choose red, make sure you have some water in the game, because it is going to get rouch after a while...
