MiniVAP Vaporizer

I been thinking about getting one of these for awhile now and was hoping (and just assumed for some reason) it was more of a free flowing draw but its not sounding like it is. Still want one though, as long as its not as restricted as a Solo with a stock stem. (Good thing my Solo came with one of the stems fitting a tiny bit loose in a good way, making it easier to draw while still getting clouds compare to the other stem which makes it very uncomfortable and almost made me give it up).

And my Mighty seems pretty free flowing and produces major clouds right away so I'm surprised to read that some are experiencing draw resistance. I pack mine full and a little snug too.

The MV can't be compared to the Solo at all in terms of draw resistance, it is much more free flowing. Even the mighty has a slightly higher draw resistance than the MV, but I wouldn't advise to pack the MV snug since it's a full convection vaporizer.

Edit: if you get the decarb kit or directly the gcmv you can easily add some conduction.

This is not my experience with the Mighty and MV at all. I actually find the Mighty to be very open for airflow, and much more than my experience with the MV, which is limited I admit. However, if anything it reminded me of a Solo airflow than Mighty, but I do have huge lungs.

There are no draw issues with the MV. Unless you pack it really tight, which will mess with any convection vape.

That's what @lazylathe told me.....but the MV did feel tight to me, although the flavour completely blew me away!

When I asked the question, I was also hoping for more responses boasting resistance free, but I am not discouraged yet. It is simply a LOT harder and more painful on my sinus right now to vape anything with much restriction, but I will improve as I recover...

Having most my experience limited to the Lotus, Nano and Plenty, I am really excited to taste all my different strains with the MV to experience the flavor myself.

Quotation from an email send by Hermes:
"The dimensions are:
diamenter of the airpath 14mm. length of the heater 50mm. and loading chamber 12mm.
nominal volume per inhalation 16lpm "

Airflow for S&B products can be found under FAQ on their site:
http://www.storz-bickel.com/shop_eu/en/faq/

I hope this helps a little since anything not derived by S.I. units is IMO very subjective.

I'm quite sure there was something going very wrong...

@FlyingLow when you heal from your sinus issues hit me up and I'll let you try before you buy.

My Minivap, EVO, LSV, Crafty and Haze are all pretty free flowing (which I like) and are nothing like my Air/Solo. If you are worried about restriction on the MV, you need not. You'll see, just hit me up. And get better my friend!

Thanks brother, I have been meaning to reconnect with you once I am up again!
I hope to be back on my feet late this week... wish I did not have to wait and the anticipation is killing me!

I had the original steel cup solo and that shit produced plenty cloudage but was super restricted. I trained my lungs to get used to this and as such had no real issue. The MV? Free flowing as you like ime.

I believe the Solo stem makes a 'suction seal' as you inhale, when you put it dead on straight on the heater?
But in the MV I agree with Sticks, the only restriction comes from a basket that's been overpacked.

That sounds good then, especialy since I dont find there to be any draw resisistance with the Mighty. It feels very free flowing to me....?

And whats the benifit of adding conduction to the MV? I guess it has to add something good but its hard to get over the conduction releasing the goods while heating and even between hits...when I smell it before it reaches temp its like...well you know, sucks...but i do startnsipping then just lightly.

It's been a mellow morning :zzz::freak:

First session ive had with the MV in a whiiiile. Simply amazed at the clouds I'm producing with a slow draw. This is without a doubt the least draw resistance vape I own. Definitely better then the mighty:2c:

I just spent a huge chunk of cash on a vriptech setup and glass. So, this statement is something that I wanted to hear, but not at the same time! VAS may mean a divorce at this point! lol

Can you point out any other advantages over the Mighty?

I personally don't have the Mighty (was seriously considering getting 1 tho, as a backup, before joining the Zion frenzy!) but the MV is worth every penny to me, I have the full kit and don't regret it for a second.
Again, I can't compare vapor quality but as @stickstones points out, Jorge has put (and keeps on putting!) a lot of work in the science behind it.
I actually spoke with Jorge about 2 months ago, and from what I can remember (if I remember correctly) the decarb kit is aimed at transforming the large amounts of THC-A naturally present in Cannabis to be transformed into THC, therefore increasing the effects, and getting a 'deeper' extraction by putting a bit of conduction in the equation.

From my part I'm simply amazed at how an idea from '09 can still compete with new releases on equal terms (although it isn't the only vape to do it, of course). Thing is, the product has evolved and we just can't see how many changes have gone under that little cilindrical 'hood'.

just more options. lots of ways to vape for different needs. in talking with Hermes, they seem to be ahead of the curve in relationship to herb science and its medicinal effects. the conduction component is important in this combination of effects.

The only vape I Have that is both conduction and convection is the Mighty, and it does seem to extract amazingly. I like the idea of more options too so it makes sense. Thanks.

Taste is obviously one. Can't get a better taste (I'm still looking though). The effects are more pronounced imo. I'd say if stealth wasn't a big factor for you I would sell that mighty and get the MV. Asap. !cloud production is larger on the MV as well.
Edit- @subway13029 your taste buds must be a bit worn. There is a huge difference between the mighty Nd MV tastewise. The conduction in the mighty is significant enough to where it effects the taste a good deal. But I agree the mighty is more convenient. And lower temps don't taste that bad. MV definitely wins in the taste category though

Seems to me the mighty has just as good taste..maybe I'm not the best judge but my mighty also seems more convenient to use. I have the gcmv and the tcmv..it just seems really hot no matter how I use it and when I use it with water I can pack full basket or full load and get like 2 great hits but it's a chore to wait for heat back up between draws and to repack when I can pack the mighty fully and get many nice white hits.

Thanks for sharing, I really appreciate this feedback as I keep the MV in the back of my mind. Since I did try it, and I think @lazylathe can attest from witnessing my reaction when I hit it, I have never tasted anything quite like it....it's just a different taste (no conduction). I still love the taste of my Mighty, but with the conduction element it is more herby tasting, although with a big enough load and max temp you can have some seriously awesome flavour too, especially for that first pull.

I'm maintaining my interest in the MV, but it's hard to look past glue being sent to customers and lids falling apart, and shoddy lengthy customer service from what i've been reading here. I'll keep my eyes and ears open.

i would take everything you read with a grain (or cup lol) of salt. I've never had a problem with any glue or lids falling apart. Yes it seems known that their customer service isn't the best .for the product I think it's worth it. Of course no one wants to send in their vaporizer and have the repair dragged out. Sometimes it happens. It seems their getting better. I wouldn't sleepon the MV that's for sure.
@Roger D is a testament to how long this sweet vape has been around.

Hearing from the horse's mouth again, 'Their' was more of a 'His' until months ago... It was literally a one-man operation for all these years!
The cilinders and other things, like batteries, are ofc outsourced but apparently just the tube manufacturer only did runs of 5000k units upwards, so doing about 100 was kind of a joke for them...
It really is puzzling how he's managed to pull it all off all by himself.

Regarding vapor output I get varying results depending on strains, some give 2-3 nice hits, then degrade fast. Others give around 5-6 pulls on a small bubbler, until it starts to degrade, but since I have the decarb kit, I can get to darken the load (if I want) and the wispier last hits can be very potent too. :2c:

Just shot a mail to minivap store to see whats up. Will keep you updated. I am in the market for new Mini-beast(Vap), but have been watching this thread closely and hope to give you guys a positive story related to their customer service. Because I also feel the not so positive once are being represented more here, maybe even un-proportionally? I will see where this goes...I know I want this vaporizer again...

I know I want this beast once more, my solo air just is no match to it, and even when I had my Cloud, I would find myself almost exclusively using the minivap. It was a painful separation two years ago, I hope we get re-united again soon...

Already got a reply from Jorge he will be away for the weekend and will look into my request when he gets back.

Nice he still remembers me, we met in person some years ago. I bought my first minivap a few weeks later. Only thing I regret is the need to sell it one day...

So looks like it might be soon, my reunion
