@kimura
I personally don't like the MV more than S&B units until yet. Some people don't want to agree with me but this is why forums are there, to say what you think and to have nice discussions. So the post above was moved in this thread and is taken out of context because discussion derailed a little on mighty thread, it's not me disturbing your chat with my faulty unit, again, just to be clear.
I'll simply answer what you stated out.
I have no problem about sending my units to warranty if it's not caused due misinformation before buying. I just signed up here, but I followed the
entire MV thread since buying the volcano on 2013. So I think I knew quite all the problems user had experienced so far in this thread, including the freezing, well-designed, not to short, continually reinvented mouthpiece
before buying! I saw WT's, glass straw, cut and inverted flexicones and so on. Like your ideas a lot. But dog hair on silicone isn't nice, flexicone is still to hot if not adapting with a mouth piece and I don't use WT, they just don't fit in my lifestyle and I was more a joint smoker so I don't enjoy finishing my bowls in 3-4 hits, even if I coud. I don't think any lungs can take all the thc contained in so much vapor in just a few draws, but this is imo and another discussion.
I never read here the MV isn't for long sessions. And I'm fully ok with very long draws. I just can't spend a bowl like a bong hit. But I have the impression this is how the MV should be used, with WT. I have a 50cm whip full of dust and dog hair here, I read about the herbie whip, too, but I can't help me, the volcano has still much better vapor quality, less harsh. But I have a defective unit from what I know so far....
Hermes contact formular und phone number isn't working, he is fully aware. I knew that before and it was still hard for me to get him. Imagine I didn't had read the entire MV thread. How can an average user, not signed in on FC, get in contact with Hermes? Nearly impossible. This is not how business should be made. I think this is
very impolite, but who am I.... Just a S&B groupie.
I'm not a vapor nerd, but a full time stoner who estimated the MV to perform like the volcano in terms of vapor quality. I like tweaking. Like I said, I knew that before buying. Like I said too, I'm an engineer and engineers probably like tweaking a lot. There was a post from someone with the idea of using a cooling coil to cool the vapor. I figured out already how I will connect it to the MV lid and the flexicone, but it will cost me some € and I'm just waiting if my unit is defective (shitty, low quality parts like you said yourself, I never thought of that myself. Only read about a failing batches in the end of 2014, vapefiend didn't sell MV for a month or so)
I think bad about S&B's housings, too, poorly designed, even if they are made of polycarbonate which can really be shock resistant and even save live where aluminum and wood can't resist anymore, if designed right. My S&B units are breaking constantly but s&b took 1 week to warranty my unit (with shipping time).
Hermes took 1 week to answer me and to ask when and where I did buy my unit...
I know they are probably on Spannabis Festival where I would be too if living in Spain, but I am an understandfull FC-member with "insider infos" thx to you all, not the regular customer.
I agree with your posting, so don't feel offended. But I'm doing business with Hermes, not smoking or vaping with him. At least he should show a little bit more interest towards his customers. I'm not the only one thinking this way if you read the entire thread, too.
The market is imature, you're right. The MV isn't. 4-5 years should be enough to resolve most of the R&D mistakes. Did you see the different color tones of black units? Imagine you're not buying a new beloved best buddy, but a car, a phone, a television. I know this market is new, but engineering isn't, and there is no rocket science to heat up a block of aluminum to a preset temperature, even if most of vaporizer enterprises wants you to believe this. Where is the laminar heat flow with 50% extraction of thc? Mighty hits like a train, and like you said very much residue condenses in the CU which I dislike and is a pita to clean. I have a solution for that, too, but hot vapor is more bitter from what I experienced so far so I just wait for a running gcmv before I'll tweak, buy, cut or glue anything even if that means spending 250€ in a new core again...
I don't judge without ever having tried a fully working unit, I think. Like I said too, I had sessions much nicer than with S&B
portable units regarding taste and clouds if preheating and packing right and so on (at least 50% at the time), but taste is still far behind the volcano. Each time I use the MV I get effects and I have no insomnia, so it works in a way. Blue whispy clouds on pink or green, 3-6 heavy clouds if starting and hitting at red directly. Even, brown ABV.
But to be true, even the volcano has a hard work to satisfy my needs. I didn't expected the MV to hit harder, but taste should be the same (it isn't, volcano is much better, and I don't need dense clouds to judge taste).
Perhaps it's just me craving for conduction signatures... I combusted 5g a day until I got the Crafty who overdosed me with one full batterie charge. Never experienced this ever before from all my Vapes, and I used the Volcano on 225 degrees, 1-2g top shelf bud (better than bedrocan's and Fagron's weed, the supplier of german dispensaries, and also better than
most of Netherland weed from tourist coffee shops around Amsterdam apart 3-4 stores I know from local people living there ) slightly tamped down in a very full bowl and I swear none of you could empty this first 2 completely white bags with 2 large draws without coughing even through the nose with exploded lungs, I only can take a mouth full exactly like combusting a joint and there are still clouds when I exhale, so dense and concentrated the volcano vapor is. I dislike the volcano effects anyway, only strong enough when combusting in between, so I combusted 2 years until I got the crafty 3 months ago. Perhaps I'm just a newbie to vaporize and can't appreciate the minivap, but the crafty made me stop combusting after daily (ab-)use for years! Even if S&B portables are tasting roasted on 200 degrees, pure joints aren't better, neither uplifting volcano or MV highs, imo. So I live with it to get sedated...
Edit: falsely accusing the mods for deleting criticism, just found my post thx to
@I.b.vaping ,I apologize very much
sry for that
