I agree 100%. I was also thinking of investing in one of these, but I have lost confidence with all the issues, the bad batch of black units and stories regarding a total lack of customer service. If we were talking about $150, I would dive right in, but at this price point the issues really should have been ironed out long ago.

At $150, I'd definitely take a punt on one. I'd probably order 2 at that price off the bat in case one of my units failed, but at over $450 it's too expensive for me to take the risk of having a faulty unit.

I totally get how much awesome potential fully functioning units can have, but I feel more confident investing in a Mighty (given S&B's reputable customer service/quality control).

It's a shame, because I've been following the progress of the Minivap for a couple years, and it's always the vape I stare at pictures of on my computer in the evening. I'm a dork, I'm aware of this.

It does inspire lust with its sensual curves and high performance under the hood. Perhaps like the Jaguar automobile and certain other fine examples of European engineering, the price of ownership is regularly surrendering it to the "shop" for repair?

First, neither should be considered an investment. Second, you are right that a fully functioning Minivap unit is awesome. That coupled with the fact that Hermes has honored warranty replacements without question negates any worries about making a purchase. I don't regret my purchase for a second despite having to get a replacement....if you spent time with it I think you would understand better.

To me, that's exactly what they are. In buying a premium vaporizer, I feel I'm investing in my health, although it isn't paramount. In the same way that braces for teeth aren't crucial to decent dental hygiene, it's nice to have straight teeth and perhaps worth the investment.

I completely agree that without having tried a Minivap, I can't comment with any authority whatsoever as to whether it's worth the price. Most who own one say it is, but so too do most iPhone users..

I agree with @Smknbud that the way the company stands behind the product is just as important as if it works out of the gate. That's how I felt with VapeXhale when they had their problems. The product was top shelf and I believed in the company, so I think it was worth the acquisition. Hermes at least has some sort of track record. They've been around for a few years and somehow survived when their vape was too expensive for the market.

My three favorite vapes happen to be some of the most expensive on the market. Of the three this one is the cheapest and Herbie is the most reliable. So it looks to me like this one is the bargain if you are willing to risk some possible hassles. But I totally get it that some will not want to take that risk.

I think I owned my first MV for about 3 weeks before it failed.
That was almost a month ago...
Am I upset, to a degree yes because I expect perfection when I buy something. Totally unrealistic in the real world but I like my hard earned money to be spent on quality products. Hermes stands behind their products and everyone that has had issues has been sorted out easily and without too many hassles.

My replacement MV has finally arrived in Canada and should with a bit of luck be here next week sometime!!!

Even though the cost of this vape is quite high, I am considering a second unit as a back up! Oh and in the 3 weeks that i owned my MV i did not touch a single of my other vapes!! Some of them are very expensive and great vapes but the MV Blew them out of the water with ease!

Trust me, once you hit a correctly functioning MiniVap you can never go back...

I'm probably skeptical because it's just out of my price-range. Truthfully, if I had a spare $500, I'd be all over it.

I finally got my call tag to return my silver unit that came from Vapornation. When I get my replacement I will report back on the difference.

I am guessing a few more weeks on that report though. They sent sent me a ground shipping label to go from the Midwest to California so I lose about a week there (with Holiday shipping times) and lord knows how long it will take to evaluate it and provide met a replacement. Wish me luck!

I have a lot of other vapes to use that I like but still missing my Mini (even considering the limited use I had with it when it was working).

I received my MiniVap today at long last, it's the updated version BUT - It's arrived with no bloody top cap with it, so it's unusable, I can't quite believe it, totally gutted

I've emailed them, but won't expect a rapid response, it's soooo annoying having it sat here but I can't use it! Again, after spending so much money I'm struggling to be positive about the company, and I've not even used the vape yet

It is not completely unusable, I believe you can use it with a water tool like a bubbler with the flexicone upside down, and the basket facing up, I have seen people use it that way.
I have never used it that way because I have other ways to vaporize with it, but others can chime in and back me on this.

I follow the Mighty and Crafty threads closely and folks over there have had to send many back. Someone even is on their 3rd unit, first two failed. Seems like software/ programming issues.
S & B is sending out warranty replacements .

I did an extensive head to head miniVAP vs Mighty session and even the Mighty owner felt the miniVAP won on about 10/12 criteria we used. The Mighty is probably a top 5 vape so I think that says a lot about the miniVAP experience.

You can use the "flexicone plus" --the flexible cone attached to a 6" tube/whip.
Into the cone, insert a screen so herb doesn't go up the tube, take a wire basket with herb and insert
into same ridge that screen is resting in.
Let unit come up to temp.
Gently press while vaping.

You can still use it in the interim but you will have to hold it together with both hands. That sucks too, but at least you can get some vapor while waiting.

I knew it would work but just confirmed. Without a waterpiece and without the cover, you can use it.

Flexicone plus ( cone and attached 6" tube, one piece for newbies), herb, screen into silicone cone, lastly the flexicone whip / tube.
A gentle positioning of your hand to hold flexicone in proper position where lip of flexicone mates with
lip of heating chamber. Voila. Vape on!!

We have liftoff here---I was forced to try this. It works fine. It's a dirty job but somebody's gotta do it.
