Well stickstones I will have to see you and others on the Herbie thread down the line. It is with GREAT regret that I have put my MV up for sale on Gumtree. As some other member mentioned maybe convection vaps are not for me. After the second shitty night`s sleep due to crook guts it will have to go. A real bummer because I just got it firing really good and got me really plastered AND I got a decarb kit made only yesterday (by the way jury is still out whether it makes a difference).@jivebuggered -- I think it's your expectations. There isn't a convection vape in the world that doesn't need the weed to get hot before it will start producing vapor. That requires a hit, or for the chamber to sit for a while until it heats up from indirect heat. Herbie is the same...the second hit is always more fulfilling. So was your Extreme. Somewhere along the line you got the expectation that the first hit from a vape should be mind numbing like a bong hit...and that ain't how it works. The effect takes a few minutes to set in. Even conduction vapes don't hit as hard on the first hit as the second. Your first hit draws the heat to the center of the load and makes a bigger second hit. You've also been wanting the fan assist to help you out. If it's because of weak lungs, then that makes sense. But even a fan assist unit is going to need to run for a second to heat the load.
I'm trying to help here, so I hope I'm not sounding dickish. But you have what I consider to be one of the best vapes in the world, and I have owned or do own most of the other ones you have been chasing. I think you would be best served settling into this vape and getting it working to your satisfaction...even if that means you have to change what you are looking for a little bit. Every time I get a new vape I have to find its best method for use for me...even the best ones.
We're here to help...good luck!
My lungs are ok its the technique at using convection vaps (as before) that irritate my diaphragm, just the whole process of the initial draw to "stoke the fire" so to speak which leaves me with painful wind pain usually at night.
Not much use swapping with overseas members due to transferring problems, postage costs, etc. I could turn on a Herbie here and it could blow up, who knows. Apart from I think one member only replying there was not enough overseas owners of Herbies to give me feedback whether they had trouble just using a power converter? So bring on that Herbie export model!! cheers
