RBT is in the process of updating the Milaana.
Given that much of Milaana's identity is in the guitar pick and matching logo embossed copper this feature will remain. What will change?
The wooden bottom will be eliminated and a recessed rectangular bottom plate will cover the electronics compartment. The plate will have an embossed logo similar to that of the copper battery hatch. In the center of the three triangles a screw with a triangular drive will fasten the plate to the unit. This will reduce the overall height if the unit by 1/4".
The spring metal battery contact (down in the hole) will be replaced by a plunger contact similar to what is used in many e-cig mods. This will reduce the amount of failures due to the current spring contact that can be compressed if dropped which has caused the battery to loose contact with the cooper battery hatch in the past.
The heater will be now mounted on a ceramic deck that will be mounted into the bottom of the heater cavity. This will reduce the risk of the wood on the bottom from being over heated and will reduce the complexity of the assembly process.
The mica used in the currently will be replaced by ceramic as was done in the Splinter V2 and Splinter Z V1. This will have no impact on performance but could arguably will improve purity by some.
The length and width of the unit will be increased by 1/16" to improve robustness and make way for a larger diameter female glass if needed and any profile change that might be made.
The mouthpiece will be changed to 19/19 similar to the Splinters.
What else could be done to improve the design?
The copper battery hatch and metal bottom plate could be changed to brass to change the look of the unit.
The profile of the wood could be changed. Milaana 1 has a large radius on the battery side.
The button could be replaced with a lower profile and/or an LED could be added that could be turned on and off depending on the battery orientation.
Please give your thoughts on these or other changes that could be made.
