MaxVapor E-Nail - 2018 Version

Hi Guys just wanted to post an update for everyone:

We got our testing results back from the lab, and while our unit did not produce any unintended interference (meaning we are good to go on obtaining the FCC id) there was some concern raised about the location of our WiFI antenna in relation to getting maximum range.

We will be resubmitting the revised hardware on the September 19th for re-testing which we expect to take 2 - 3 weeks. As I mentioned all of the existing pre-orders will be getting something nice from us due to the delay, but if you need your money back for other things go ahead and send us an e-mail and I will get that taken care of also.

I am still checking with the legal team, but we may be allowed to send out a small number (5) of units without FCC clearance, so if you are interested in doing that and have an existing pre-order please send us an e-mail also.

@Blargas541 I hope to have a video up within the next couple of days, you can check our youtube or instagram for any videos we post in the meantime.

@Hogni we can easily wire in a audio jack for line out or headphones, but we don't have any provisions in the enclosure for that. But you can just as easily connect some bluetooth speakers so we didn't really think it was a big deal to leave it out. The speaker is pretty good quality for what it is, I am not trying to replace your sound system or anything.

Another week without a demo..

Nearly a month since anticipated ship date, over a month since we were promised a video, still haven't seen any functionality or anything other than empty enclosures or wires.

If you think it's a scam, and you seem to be implying it pretty heavily, maybe just don't buy one? The pre-order savings are minimal so if you still really want one but have doubts just wait until the first round of happy customers to place an order.

I don't think it's a scam, it just seems like a pretty crappy and dissapointing way of doing business.

I'm not sure if it's incompetence or lies at this point, but maxvapor hasn't provided what they promised. Apologies if me bringing that up is upsetting to you.

Which of the features have been demonstrated besides the enail turning on?

I think we've all seen an enail screen turn on before. I am talking about the app and the premium features which justify the $300 price tag.

They have a YouTube channel. It's been mentioned before. They have an actual video of it in use and others as well

They've given reason why the full video wasn't posted and given snippets. Seems like they have more important things on hand like certifications to make the product legitimate, but let's keep complaining on a page they don't even have to view but decided to join.

My bad, I thought they might post updates on the thread that they posted and solicited customers in.

The YouTube channel also doesn't show the functionality of the app.

Edit: I'll stop shitting up the thread, seems it's just not for me.

Why? Because they didn't post a vid about all the functionality up to now?
What do you hope to see? That it really works?
Honestly, MV is a serious, longtime established company. What do your fear?
And as @Monsoon said if you don't feel well with a pre-order wait for the first reviews (and a vid with a demonstration of all functions) and buy it at the regular price. Or what do you mean with "it's just not for me."?

@Blargas541 I feel like this might be my fault for going full Unsolved Mysteries a couple of pages back with my skeptical rant. I don't regret it because I had what I feel are genuinely reasonable concerns about certain aspects of MaxVapor's online presence, but as far as I'm concerned those points I'd raised were responded to adequately and transparently by MaxVapor.

If you choose not to preorder then I applaud that decision, as I'm personally of the opinion that preordering an unreleased product is an inherently consumer unfriendly practice. However, I think you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you write off the MaxVapor Enail at this stage. It really does look to be a great product that is potentially only matched in functionality by the Talisman™®©, and who knows if or when that will ever be released (word on the grapevine is that the team behind it are a shady bunch of characters to say the least, bless those beautiful bastards).

I'm sorry if my skepticism contributed to turning you off this thread, but for what it's worth I'm still very interested myself and I'd encourage you to keep an eye out here as well.

Nah it wasn't because of your posts. I guess it's just that I have some fears about pre-ordering in general and the fact that we aren't seeing results as quick as I initially expected made me lash out. I wasn't hoping to see every little detail on video, but it surprised me how little there has been in the ways of demos, considering MV says everything is complete except for the Bluetooth certification.

After thinking about it, delays are a risk inherent to any preordered product. I didn't mean to give the impression that I thought MV was a scam of any kind.

I'm very excited for this product still, but I will just need to wait until the manufacturing process is finalized. Given that we're in the unreleased section and MV was only giving estimates, I realize I was out of line with my comments here. My apologies.

Even if they don't give anything it's still nice when they say "lifetime warranty", sort of creates trust with a small manufacturer...
Until they almost always completely forget about it, that is! :cuss:
...Not just Liz and Ava (although they did refund my HN-02 purchase, but that's another story).

I'm over all of that pre-order crap to be honest. Nowadays just prefer to wait for 2nd Gen stuff.
...Go be my guinea pigs good people of FC! :whip::science:

Just my personal opinion, but if I was in vape manf (instead of being recently retired from telecom core network infrastructure industry) I would NEVER say ANYTHING that even LOOKED LIKE a schedule DATE.

To do otherwise is to suffer endless "are we there yet", "are we there yet", "are we there yet" from potential customers.

I would always keep it under wraps until ready for GA...or beta at the least.

Its just not worth the aggravation from some of our patience-challenged community.... dancing around like a kid that has to pee with every slip.

I've seen it many, many times already on an array of vape related products. Either in an effort to raise money through pre-order (which I object to, if you don't have the financials to enter into manf, then don't enter into manf) or to raise awareness of their product, vendors unnecessarily commit themselves to risky schedules and action commitments that may or may not be met.

In the business I retired from, it was a bit different. Yes, we had new releases all of the time...product life cycles were very short. AND yes, we had to commit to release dates. But here is the difference, our telecom service provider customers had to commit, in turn, large amounts of money and time to prepare for network revision and product launches based on our new equipment. Or, they made company financial commitments to the street based on new services or savings predicated on having our new network infrastructure in place by a certain date. Or, they planned to terminate very expensive support for legacy equipment based on the release and implementation dates of our new kit. So, hard schedule commitments had to be made.

But none of that applies to a sub-$1k, retail, niche item. I mean, what is the impact to people who gripe about this or that schedule delay for an unreleased vape item that justifies their often seeming inability to hold their water.

I'm not talking Hopper Labs and their multi-year fuck up. I'm talking about people losing their shit over a few week slip in a vape product release or similar.

Just my take on all of this.
