Roor recycler drop is back! Come on guys all the people that needed videos and pictures should not be hesitant this time....I'm not :brow:

Let's hit 15 so we can practically steal these recyclers again

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
The RooR Tech: Flush Recycler is back up again on MassDrop:
https://www.massdrop.com/buy/roor-tfr

Speaking as one who got in on it the first time around its great! It went out at the $300 price and I use it every day. Solid piece and good vortex. I use some Cranberry Concentrate (RezBlock) in it which causes a small amount of bubbles. They clearly show the swirling vortex. Easy to clean and easy to draw through even with the large amount of water (over 8 ozs). Being an old geezer with less than stellar lung power anymore I was a little concerned, but I needn't have been because you can get a nice vortex without taking a lung busting pull. I've used it with a number of vapes, but my favs are the EVO and the SOLO (also my two favorite vapes anyway). Arrived about two weeks from end of drop.

I got the one with the Rasta lettering and I "borrowed" this pic from ALT (where they are over $500) to show what it looks like:

Here's some slo-mo video of the Simba White Matrix. I'm hitting it with the Persei and a modified KISS 7.4 cart. To answer @SSVUN~YAH it is sitting on a flat surface. Mine has the water covering the perc by about 1/8". No splash back at the end when clearing. Video courtesy of Mrs. DieHard.

Sorry for the portrait framed video.

That Flush is really growing on me. Very fuctional. Big and study enough for a log vape. Good reviews. I just wish it didn't have those darn logos. I may commit at the $300 price.

Join the crew man! If you are looking for your first recycler or even a quality piece of glass to add to your collection, I think this is a really good deal! I was number three on the "commitment."

After all, they do retail on ALT over $500. If at the end of the day this piece isn't what you desire, you are most likely to make all of your money back selling it privately man :2c:

Good point about selling it after if it's not for me. I may do that. Another memember may be offering his to me though, so we'll see if that pans out before I make the drop. Regardless, I don't want to throw the money down twice right now. :)

I wonder why they used a dewar joint for the downstem? I don't know that I've seen that before.
I noticed that too...

When there was all the talk of the frits being crap quality, and being pieces that potentially failed QC, seeing that dewaar joint for the downstem kinda added to those sentiments for me...

Glad I didn't jump on that massdrop deal...

Are there any differences between a regular joint and a dewaar joint? Aside from the fact that a dewaar is easier to place in a piece. Would it really matter if the pieces weren't as... "shitty" as they are? I'm not trying to start anything, I'm just genuinely curious. They could have run out of regular joints/waiting shipment/etc. Far as I can tell it's not quite as thick/reinforced as a regular joint around the rim?

Nothing inherently "wrong" with it AFAIK, aside from maybe making it impossible to put a keck clip on the joint.

But to my non-educated ass, it seems like a clear demonstration of improper technique.
Sure, it works, but that's just not how you use a dewaar joint...

It just throws up a red flag for me.

(If they'd said something in the massdrop about it being intentional, either due to lack of traditional joints or as a style thing, it wouldn't worry me, as it's basically the blower saying "look, there's a bit of an odd element to this, but I recognize that it is odd." The way it actually went down feels to me more like the blower fucked up a little, and either a) hoped the buyers wouldn't notice, or b) didn't notice themselves... Either way not a good thing...)

BTW, @DieHard I'm not ragging on your piece specifically, just the whole vibe of the simba massdrop.
For the price, you got a pretty nice piece there :)

Saw a Simba piece on Nuggetry, first time I have ever seen one in the wild. This link was in the comments on it: http://forum.grasscity.com/bongs-bubblers-water-pipes/1242296-simba-glass.html

Has some background "info" on the brand. By info I mean who really knows and it could be all here-say, but the last post in the thread was nice.

There isn't a word of truth to that. Simba glass is a 12 man factory in the same warehouse complex as me, I can assure u I don't live in china. But, someone did say it on the internets so there must be some truth somewhere!!

Well that's probably true but guess what TRVB I got a frit from China and it didn't fall apart so the incompetences from your pals is a disrespect to the Chinese! What are they going to do to make it right?

I thought Simba WAS you, or at least a brand owned by TRVB, after all the Simba-branded accessories I've seen posted by you in the Pinnacle and Vapor Blunt threads. Didn't even know they made other glass under the brand until recently.

As someone who is basically neighbors with Simba glass think you could get someone in a position to represent them to give some kind of statement on the whole farse that's been the Simba glass drops on Massdrop? If they had any kind of actual online presence those of us who want answers could contact them ourselves.

I'll never order anything that is made by Simba ever again. The mini frit is possibly one of the worst glass pieces I've ever seen and definitely ever owned. It looks like it was made by an apprentice glass blower on his first day. Crooked neck, shoddy black trimming, uneven dome. I've got a bubble at the seam ofvthe ground glass joint that is so bad it must have popped during production and only thin lauer of glass keeps it from being a complete hole. I haven't done anything but rinse it with water and the frit is fucking falling apart! Pieces of glass coming loose and floating around in the water. During the first rinse only 3 pieces came loose, but I did another rinse and a whole lot more came loose. What if I inhaled that shit?!? That's fucking crazy! There's also the fact that Massdrop says in the description that this comes with a grade 2 Ti nail and so far they are all coming with cheap shitty Boro nails. I'm beyond fucking pissed. Simba should close up shop if this is how they normally work. Not only is the work complete shit, but it's dangerous! No wonder they didn't want to include the Simba label on these. I wouldn't want to put my label on shit work either.

I find it hard to imagine! has it ever happened?

Given water pipes have become more intricate and delicate over the years, even the best might fail, say from a knock or rigorous cleaning, they are made of glass after all, some glass could easily come loose, but of all the mj scare stories I've never heard of glass being inhaled until now.

If the piece has been cleaned properly, I think inhaling a piece of glass is highly unlikely.

Put a screen in the mouthpiece if worried.

Guy, are you serious? Did you actually read what I wrote? I just explained exactly how I could have inhaled small glass flakes from an improperly built fritted perc and you are going to sit there and pshaw it? The thing was made like shit and I'm supposed to know that they made dangerous garbage? I'm supposed to put a screen in my mouthpiece to avoid their unsafe and fucked up work? No, you're right. I must be the asshole, not the guys who made this piece of shit.

I read what you wrote, did you read my reply cos you never answer my question....has it ever happened?

Sounds like you're over reacting, but then you & 1-2 others have been complaining & scare mongering since I started reading this thread, so it's hard to know if your concerns are real or not ...seems like bad things keep happening over and over to the same couple of people, I have to wonder why you're still posting in this thread ...I mean according to your account you almost swallowed bits of glass....I take it you won't be ordering any more cheap glass?

With what we know now about the Simba glass drops I'd hardly call it "scare mongering". All information right now points to the following mistakes/ false advertisements:
  • 100% of the water pipes shipped with 18 rather than 14mm GonGs
  • The frit mini rigs shipped with glass rather than Ti nails
  • A certain percentage of the glass frit has pieces of glass falling off of it
None of those are what I'd consider acceptable from an American company charging the price of American glass. Being relatively " cheap" has nothing to do with the issues.

'Scare mongering' is in relation to "swallowing glass" ...do I really have to ask the same question a third time?

Or maybe the lack of answer is an answer in itself?

FWIW I would've reacted just like @Deadshort480, my man. I think his tone is appropriate given the FLOATING SHARDS OF GLASS. This is not something typical in my "glass universe". My condolences if it is in yours. ;)
Same here mrboote.. I have had glass dust from a broken piece end up in my lungs and it's no fucking good.. Not something to ever be taken lightly :2c:... I was fucked up for a good while from that.. Who knows, I might have gotten permanent damage??

Even if DS was a tad hyperbolic in his assessment (I don't think he was). Set that aside. The piece flaking apart is more than enough reason to be dissatisfied.

Also using a an dewarr (internal) joint for a downstem (externally).
