I am just like you. Like my tech. and my MJ.
What made me smile is the comment about your wife complaining on the amount of time. My wife never particularly liked me puttin' down j's but she tolerated it. She rarely complained on how much time I spent on it. Now that I'm vaping with all the cleaning and loading she makes a smart remark here and there.
I bought an easy vape years ago when I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something.
I recently invested some bucks in some newer tech. including some portable units. The portability is what kept me on j's for years after the easy vape.
Now I am combustion free!
When my Pax crapped out I was forced to go back to the j for a minute and all I can say is gross! I used to smoke cigarettes years ago and it reminded me of that taste. Until I went combustion free I never noticed it.
Besides the obvious health benefits I especially appreciate the discretion that comes along with portable vaping. I never liked that my car and clothes stunk to high hell after combusting. The low smell alone was enough for me to switch full time and guess what, my wife appreciates it too.
Ok then. ...just stumbled onto this thread and thought we had something in common. Thanks for listening....
Hey @Jethro How about When in the "Backcountry" try using a flame/butane powered vape like The Hammer, VaporGenie, Vapeman or lotus and you'll have no excuse to keep smoking them joints.
...
From the cannabist article: “You can vaporize cocaine, you can vaporize marijuana, you can vaporize methamphetamine,” he told them. “You do not know what’s in those vaporizers.”Just picked up this news about regs on vaporizers in the Cannabist (Denver Post):
The great vape debate: Public use of vaporizers, e-cigs a hot topic
Vaporizers and electronic cigarettes, which have experienced an explosive growth in popularity in the last few years, are beginning to face stiff resistance in Colorado as an increasing number of communities crack down on the battery-powered devices.

This was the part that really caught my attention:
With the legalization of marijuana in Colorado in 2012 and the rise of vaping in the state, he said a “perfect storm” has been created for the covert consumption of drugs. Golden Police Chief Bill Kilpatrick warned the City Council about the issue last month during a study session on a potential downtown smoke-free zone.
“You can vaporize cocaine, you can vaporize marijuana, you can vaporize methamphetamine,” he told them. “You do not know what’s in those vaporizers.”
HAHA - so the real issue is not whether vaper affects public health or safety, it's not about increasing the numbers of cigarette smokers, it's about.....that someone might be having fun and no one gets to know (so to possibly deny them it)!
Gotta love the Puritans.
Or houses. Because you don't know what people do in those houses. With a metal-stemmed lotus, a reliable torch lighter, and a can of butane and you could last as long as your stash does out in the woods. Probably should have a back-up lighter as well though.
From the cannabist article: “You can vaporize cocaine, you can vaporize marijuana, you can vaporize methamphetamine,” he told them. “You do not know what’s in those vaporizers.”
By this logic we should outlaw pills, because “you do not know what’s in those [pills]”
You're absolutely right CarolKing.I hoping here in Washington state I see more vapes at the shops selling cannabis supplies (Headshops). So often I just see a few of the older model vapes and often they are out of a lot of their supply. I still see a lot of supplies for smoking cannabis. There are a lot of ecig vapor stores, they are selling ecig stuff. I see vaping oil pens at the mmj disp.
At the new recreation stores we should see vaporizers being available to buy, I would think.
Times are changing and this community on FC is just the beginning.
samanthabha said:I hated the constant humming sound of the football games that, with the smoke, enveloped my body. It invoked the low level but annoying nausea of car-sickness, except we weren't moving. I never want to go back there again.
LMAOThe Packers have that effect on me too
I think if more folks vaporized, cannabis would be more acceptable. The fact that smoking it smells so bad when you're around others that don't need to use it.
The best smoke shop around me has a lot of vaporizers, however, they are all significantly overpriced compared to what you can find online. They wanted around $300 for a solo and didn't even have the charger for it "ill have to order it"
Hmm, I think he must have cross-dressed and posed as my mom for my growing up years. Two-faced as one could get, seriously.I grew up with a dad that smoked 2 pack a day Winston cigarettes. In the house in the middle of the winter smoking, never stepped outside. He would smoke in the car with the window cracked a little. He had COPD (emphysema) is what they called it. He had some holes in his lungs. He eventually quit when he was 68. He lived to be 78. Fought for every breath in his last few months. He was an alcoholic until he was 55.
He was very abusive to his body. He was verbally abusive to everyone in the family, mean as fuck. Always nice as pie in public. Everybody thought what a nice guy.
