A bit confusing, but here's where it stands...

1. The legislature passed the extension of the retail moratorium.....sales won't start till February 2018.
2. BUT....they thankfully took out the "private residence" language.... so now you can consume anywhere that isn't considered public.
3. HOWEVER....our buffoon governor won't sign it. So....starting Monday the original law goes into effect. Full legality, and retail shops can open this Ocotober.

The gov has ten days to sign or veto. If he doesn't sign, new law goes into effect, pushing back retail by 90 days (the only material change in the new bill, other than explicitly calling out minors as still being banned from cannibis).

Bottom line: Maine is legal Monday, no matter what. Whether or not kids are legal is a matter of interpretation, and the retail start date is still in question. Other than that, you know....vape 'em if you got 'em.

Kind of a push. Just means an extra 90 days till retail. It would've become law in another 9 days even if he didn't sign it.

Bottom line...rec is legal Monday, retail sales start in Feb 2018. Keeping my mmj card for the foreseeable future.

Won’t happen. The MMJ law allows for six. They can’t even agree on anything right now.

On the plus side, the lack of brick and mortar retail is allowing delivery services to flourish thanks to the “gifting loophole”. I can get a staggering variety of products dropped right in my driveway, tax free, at great prices, just by sending a Facebook message. I’m fine with this current status quo.

Also do all the delivery services have you sign a paper? I've looked into some in the past.(Kind of sketches me out)

All I want is some high cbd flower that doesn't get me baked. I would be open to legal hemp flower too if there was a place to physically buy it.

The cookies that a dozen Bangor day care staffers believed got them high in February did not contain any illicit substances, investigators said Monday.

About a quarter of the 44-person staff at Bangor’s Watch Me Shine day care reported feeling intoxicated Feb. 14 after they ate Valentine’s Day cookies dropped off by a parent, the center’s director said.

Police were called in and took the cookies.

“Those cookies were sent to the state crime lab for analysis and after thorough testing, none of the cookies tested positive for controlled substances,” Bangor police Sgt Wade Betters said in a Monday news release.

After two staff members who had eaten at least an entire cookie reported feeling woozy, about 10 others came forward with similar but less intense symptoms, the center’s director said in February.

Police don’t know what caused the staff to feel funny, and say there aren’t any charges pending.

The child-care center instituted a new policy that no outside food could be brought in for children or staff.​

Meanwhile I live in NH very close to the Maine border. Two weeks ago, running low, I typed "cannabis" into Maine craigslist and got like 30 items. There was one delivery service advertised for the part of Maine near me, so I emailed through craigslist. Two days later I met up with a lovely couple halfway between both our homes, and got some great stuff for a great price. Purple Trainwreck and Blueberry Haze, both tastily delicious. Like so many of the smaller-time folks advertising herb, he had a medical mj script and so grew six plants and got way more than he needed, so "gifted" the surplus.

Frankly if they never pass retail regs it’ll be fine for us. Outstanding med program that anyone can qualify for, amazing products dropped off at your door for great, tax-free prices....I prefer delivery to storefronts anyway. Between rec delivery and my caregiver who delivers, I never have to leave the house. What LePage did was (in contrast to what he thought he was doing) a huge favor to cannibis users here.

As a non Maine resident... I wish there were more rec delivery services. All the rec services I've found are mainly thc strains and they don't have lab tests
Luckily for me hemp is having boom and stores in all states are starting to carry hemp flower.

Honestly if Mitchs hemp bill gets passed and hemp gets legalized Nationwide (growing) I think it might damper legalization nation wide for rec use.

While I don't care if any drugs got legalized... In terms of drawing a line and compromising I think. Ation wide rec cannabis could be legalized federally with Max thc at 5% thc... As a base... States could legal it all if the want... But I feel.like hemp strains getting popularized society as a whole will understand you don't need to get blazed off a hit. And high thc should federally be for medical patients and states to decide. (And not bs med bills where you have to be half dead to qualitfy. Ifanyone gave a fuck they would legalize based off THC:CBD content but it's all money based)
