Help my magic wand is not heating enough, almost no heating... ... I just got it.. i put a 7.5 A 125/240 v.. its all thats written on it.. The green light is workin .... it gets a bit warm.. But thats alll... I hope i don't have to send it back for repair.. i dont have 45$ for shipment...

1st: Wattage of the transformer?? 200W is enough for the MW.

2nd: temperature takes a little time to raise; sweet spot is around 1 PM, vaporization starts around noon. You can crank it up to full blast for 5 mn, then go down to noon, and you are good to go!

3rd: the ceramic is so impressive on the MW it takes a little time to fully heat, but the temperature conservation oif this vapo is unbelievable, and once you have reached your sweet spot, you can hit as hard as you can, the temperature WON'T drop!

It does not get heat at all... the ceramic just got a bit warm for few seconds.. and thats all it happend.. it is not heating more...
May be the adapter is wrong.. But why then is the green light functioning ?
Can you please post me a picture how the transformer should look ? Or may be link me to the exact product so i can search for similar here..

That is an adapter...only modifying the plug male ends...NOT THE VOLTAGE!
You need this type of transformer:

And BTW, I'm not really sure your MW liked the 220V current she just received... Keep us posted!

It does modifies the voltage.. 220 to 110 v.. I bought this a as convertor and use it with other 110v appliances that i purchased from usa...
What is the worst that i could have done... What is the possible damage? And why is the green light functioning then... ?
There were no sparks.. no smell.. no burns.. The wand just got a bit warmer for a minute.. and then it started to cool off no matter of temp control possition...
I asked in the thread (or may be it was the incognito thread) i even posted pictues of my converter and asked if i can use it... There were no negative answers...
Can an electrician diagnose the problem ?

Such a small device cannot be a convertor IMO.
2 options: or your previous appliances were dual (110 to 220v) or it is a very low wattage converter (50 or 75 watts for example) and that is not enough for the MW...
I'm not an electrical specialist though...so better wait for better advices!

I will go anyway now and search for the 200w adapter as u said.. they wont be very expensive here..
and then i will check if the wand is not functioning... I will need it any way for mw.. even if i have to send it for repair..
Is the 200w adapter the enough for sure ? ? for the mw? What is best >?
I was looking it for almost like 10 minutes and i cannot notice any difference in looks... no change no burns... nothing... .. I think there are 3 things that are possible to happen
1)I fucked up totally and burnt the mw with 220v straight electricity due to unproper adaptor..
It heated up a bit and then stopped.. Thats why i put this case on 1st place because its not heating any more..
2) But there is a hope ,because green light is working and my power adaptor might not be powerful enough
to heat the ceramic element.. and i will work fine as get the new one
3) There is some kind of resistance element that burned instead of the wand and is easy to change.. and i wont have to send it back to usa...

Have you got a multi meter Abysmal?

This can tell you if you still have power going from the control box to the element (assuming you can touch the connections- I don't have a MW, so don't know- alternatively can you perhaps take the cover off the control box to test). I got a very cheap analogue one from a 1 store.

I have many convertors home from 1000W. to 100W. ones. The 200W one was sent by Hipi himself on my request, and it's perfectly enough for my MW, my IV and my Cano BTW...

I tested it on 200w adaptor in the local electricity shack .. The guy said that he does think that this device uses 40-50 w ... He said that it could be use with the plug i have,, and since it didnt work on 200w .. adaptor.. He said that the problem probably is in the device..
I also told him that it heated first... for a while and he said that there should be a spark or smell or smoke... if something was burnt.. and he saw also that the green light is functioning with the both adaptors.. so probably the problem is in the wand itself or in the wire...
He said he ain't a pro.. and this is all the help i can get from him..
I think also hipi mentioned somewhere that the mw is 44 watts.. so i guess the problem is not in the adaptor after all..

Anyway i ordered 230w adaptor.. it should be here in few days... I will buy it for future use

Have you got a multi meter Abysmal?

This can tell you if you still have power going from the control box to the element (assuming you can touch the connections- I don't have a MW, so don't know- alternatively can you perhaps take the cover off the control box to test). I got a very cheap analogue one from a 1 store.

I can go and check if they got one a long as it is simple to operate with..

I can see a crack on the heating element.. Maybe it was damaged during transportation.. the package was a bit damaged.. but all the glass parts are in perfect condition...

How long are you letting it heat up for? My MW takes a solid 30-45 minutes to heat up to the point it will produce serious clouds of vapor. Works awesome once it is heated though.

To me and most users:

cranked at 1 pm on the dimmer : 8 mn. to get UNTOUCHABLE on the part near the heater
full power: 5 mn. to get UNTOUCHABLE on the part near the heater

TREMENDOUS CLOUDS in both situations!

Yep... in the beginning it warmed up a bit.. very quickly,,, i wouldnt say untouchable .. then it stopped raising the temp.. and slowly cooled off....
Flskwat do you think that i might have burned the mw with that adaptor ... in case the magic wand is truly 44 watts ? It is for sure 220to110 its written on it 125/240v-7.5A ..
Also the crack on the heater... Do you think that it can be responsible for the disfunction ?

As already stated, do not rely on me for electrical expertise... I have electrical engineer friends just for that (no kidding, LOL, but it is not where my skills/knowledges shine the most...)!
Crack on the heater? I cannot see that on the pics...sorry; but I only have 1 bit of black plastic electrical tape and I cannot see the wire inside as shown on one of your pics...that might be the issue!

Wow, I guess I shouldn't have taken my time considering the MW, the prices have shot up! I'm sad to see the price change, I was hoping the MW would stay in the $150 range. Symptoms I look for: Troubleshooting Your Wand!
-1. Control unit light is green On no matter what the knob position is in. -Broken circuit board
-2.Light still functions correctly in with the control units knob but still no heat. -Broken Heating element, Likely overvoltage from incorrect input voltage. Input voltage needs to be 110v, 125v is not recommended
-3. light doesnt work but heat is still working correctly. -light is defective.
-4. Both functions dont work. - There is a wiring issue if this occurs.


Based on what has failed I can send you the correct repair kit and instructions that either you or an electrician can complete.

Hey HiPi .. I've been waiting for you to contact me.. U said it gonna be today and my time is very limited.. because i will be busy with a trip the next few days... I got the multi meter but i dont know how to work with it.. I got the 200w adaptor.. I notice a very slight change of light when i turn the knob to minimum... I think it stars to blink... and the power is decreasing.. (If the change in light should be that little). So i guess it is the wand or the cable.. I will be online i next two hours.. (That is bout midninght. California time)
Then i will be out for a an hour and will be aviable for two more after that.. and then i have to go)
