I'd like a nice small to medium bubbler with a simple perc, designed for oil or herb, but with the whip in mind. Quality less than $50 around here?

This looks like an ash-catcher, but with all the gongs facing up!

If anyone has experience in these whip style bubblers/bongs, do you have any suggestions or complaints? I think the bonus of having a nice bendy whip is really drawing to me, but I fear the whip would add even more surface to lose oil vapor on.


Anyone that uses something similar, have you seen this issue much?

The FC-UFO is a great piece. Check out the cheap bubbler thread for lots of info, but the FC-710 is the general top suggestion for oil: http://www.dhgate.com/product/2015-new-glass-smoking-bongs-based-water/216674730.html

Vapor comes in the downstem, then bubbles back up the up-facing part of the downstem.
It's basically a kind of natty / pillar perc.

It uses quite a bit of water to keep the amount of exposed glass to a minimum.
Because most of the piece is wet, there's not much place for reclaim to form except for in the neck.

Also, because it has so much water, but uses relatively little water in each actual hit, it seems to stay fresher for longer.

@virtualpurple I love using a j-hook and a 45 degree 18.8mm adapter the ufo.

I have the ufo and no longer use the silicone whip because it robs too much flavor. The whip is nice for parties. I recommend getting a SSV whip mouthpiece, it will hit better than the one that comes with the fcufo. I also replaced the tubing with 1/2 ID tubing from amazon. The tubing that came with the fc-ufo smelled like fuel.

I didn't get it either, but for the price, ordered one anyway. It holds a lot of water, and the initial pull is a bit heavy, but then it's a light draw, cools well and gives the best tasting hit I've found yet.

The FC-710 is best for high quality, tasty concentrates. For lesser product, something with more smoothing effect is nice, such as the d-cycler, gb-242 or any of the fab pieces. The matrix percs effect the flavor and taste differently.

Anyone have a recommendation for something similar but with vaping herb in mind? The ufo is my current top choice but I'd like to know my options

I just got my ufo in last week, love it, but mine is not completely straight, sort of Pisa tower-like. It's not a big defect, and it's really well build, but the water level is also a bit off due to it not being straight and because of that the perc isn't firing evenly. So when you order one, make sure they do a good quality check before shipping.

I cleaned the whip thoroughly and it lost it's initial smell, i like it, also with the mouthpiece, but not sure how safe that silicon is though ;)
