Looks like I will be joining this thread and a lsv will be joining me a few days after Christmas...I have a ssv and sssv and don't like the whips and extra tubing robbing me of flavor. Got a neat setup.in mind for the lsv I think it will provide great results.

Hi all, I haven't posted too much on FC, but I post often on r/Vaporents. Picked up my LSV back in February 2015, and it's functioned fabulously ever since that first draw. Then, last week, I tripped over the LSV cord while moving some furniture and, *smash*, bye bye heater cover. I ordered a replacement heater cover from VaporNation, where I originally purchased the LSV, and the replacement came in today. Upon initial inspection, the replacement heater cover seemed a little bit longer than I remembered. I fit the heater cover onto the base of the heating element, and I was astonished to find that the heater cover was about 1/2" too long, with the female joint protruding from the aluminum case. Functionally, I can't imagine that there are too many drawbacks with this abnormally long heater cover (with the exception of the heating element being further away from the ground bud), so I'll probably just keep it. I dunno, what do you guys think? Have any of you experienced this before? Am I missing something here? Thanks all.

I had a shorter heater cover then needed in an LSV and the cover would flop around the heater element. After a couple of shims it was tall enough to be stabilized by the end cap. So if the cover is not too long (.5" seems excessive) don't worry too much.

Sadly, my HC is too long to fit beneath the end cap and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to lower the HC height. The only way I have been able to get the HC to fit is by setting it up so the ground glass end protrudes beyond the end cap.

I'll probably turn up the heat to account for the increased distance between the heating element and the ground flower, as well as lengthen the heating element slightly.

How much of the heater is extending beyond the cap when you rig it like that and what is the overall HC length?

I took my guy apart and decided to see what looked off. Is there supposed to be a copper wire forming into a loop just hanging loose? Lol anyway, I got it working. To test it out I blasted it on high and loaded a half bowl, put the wand into a clean and dry water tool, and drew as hard as my lungs could.
Wow! I've been using a firewood 3 lately, and I had forgotten just how powerful this puppy can be. I think I'll save my Lsv for those times I want so much vapor I almost get sick from one toke. Hahahaha hey, I didn't cough, but there was no way to hold it all in. I just wish the cord was not coming out of its bottom....makes it hard to stand up.

That copper wire is more than likely a ground wire. I wouldn't just leave it loose.

Hey friends.
Haven't gotten to use my LSV in a week due to being on vacation. and to make it worse..I've had to combust for that week. It's amazing how there is no comparing combusting to the lsv. I would need at least 3x the herb combusting to get the same effects as I would trough the lsv. Not only that, but the herb tasted horrible combusting, gave me more headaches, and helped me to develop a little cough. Can't forget the Scooby snacks after every bowl too.
Damn I'm excited to hit my lsv tomorrow when I get back.
Plus I'm currently on a 3 day t break ;)
Shoot for the moon and beyond!

Hey guys,

I just got my lsv in the mail today and am a little thrown off by how much higher I have to put the heat up compared to my ssv. And by higher I mean all the way up just to get a slight browning using a basket screen/ddave mod. Is this normal or could this mean the heater isnt functioning correctly? And somthing else I noticed was the hole on the heater cover on my lsv is way higher up causing the air to hit closer to the top of the ceramic element compared to my ssv which is closer to the bottom of the element where it starts turning red. Is that just the way the lsv is designed or could that be the issue? If there is any at all.

Thanks!

Am sure others will chime in on this, but either something needs adjusting or something isn't right.

From what I read on the LSV, it definitely doesn't lack power.

It sounds like you may have to pull the heating element up.
