Cheers mate
It is the same then, very low conversing power...the cloud is 85W if I'm not mistaken ... this more almost 4 times less ... you can keep it on all day lol :)

It's written on your original cable... :)

Actually not... I'm cross-quoting from the vapornation thread because this is the same sticker that was on my lsv cord--no wattage information at all (the other side just has their logo):
7th floor and vapornation (both) sent me an email 15 days ago saying there was an sticker on the power cord saying "warning: 120 VAC 60Hz 25W" on it. But there wasn't that information at all. I answered both of them, sending a lot of pictures and only Vapornation replied me saying "we're going to send these pictures to 7th floor and we're going to reply you soon."
but I do still with no answer.

This is the sticker on the power cord, and there's no voltage information.

Whoa.. First time starting at the beginning of this thread and reading through. I have to say it had a bumpy start. Does anyone have pictures of their own lsv stand? I'm interested in making one or purchasing one Chris stated they may or may not be working on one.

^^ Interesting idea. I wonder if enclosing the heating element like that would cause premature wear and tear on it.

I've seen that!! I'd love to ask him about it but, fear an angry mob of wait-listers would show up at my house with pitch forks and torches!!

The stand is beautiful it has a bunch of blue in it that doesn't come out in the pics. Fully functional too very easy to get the LSV in and out of. It keeps the LSV slightly cooler than my old set-up and it's really sturdy/heavy it would be tough to tip over.

Alan is also a great guy to deal with. Very helpful and patient. He gave me a great deal on it as well!

I'm thinking that the heating element should last longer since I don't have to turn it up so far to get the roasting temps I desire. The stainless steel needs less heat to create the hot air than the glass since it is so much smaller in mass. That is also why it can heat up and be ready in 1 minute. Standing the element in the vertical orientation allows for more heat to be removed from convection currents which also keeps the element from getting too hot. Since I don't have to turn the dial past 12 and there is less heat mass, it doesn't transmit much heat to the aluminum shell and it stays very cool to touch.
You should really like the modification as it would enable you to use your LSV like a PD using a stainless steel roasting tube for micro hits.

Using a Vapor Lung with the HILSV essentially turns it into a Volcano. My most common method of medication these days is the HILSV, a Turbo Tube w/ cotton filter, and a Vapor Lung. Quick, tasty, smooth vapor.

way2 - Glad your stand is serving you well. I made sure to make it heavy enough and the base wide enough so it wouldn't tip over very easily. I think there is sort of a lava light look to the base.
I do hesitate to spend more time on another project when I am behind the way it is, but it is such an awesome mod. If only 7th floor had an interest in making them.

Got it.

How difficult would it be to replace that stainless tube with the standard glass cover? Would you be able to simply go back and forth so that when you want to conserve, you can go with the stems, but when you to hit the LSV in standard mode, you can.

No need to remove the stainless tube to install the glass cover. It fits right over the stainless tube using a shim at the base. The screen in the glass cover will need to be removed but there is one in the end of the stainless tube protecting the heating element. It works with all of the LSV glass roasting wands/adapters. The glass cover will just sit a little bit higher but the end cap would have to be removed anyway for the WPA. It is the ultimate in adaptability, durability and control of temperature.

Weird question but I just noticed this.. Does everyone's heating element change from orange to a lighter orange-white while hitting it. Almost as if I was putting the temperature down. I never noticed this but when I hit it it does that now.. Not sure if it did it in the past, I ask this because the last bowl I just had I couldn't get a hit out of and I noticed the heating element was doing that, I packed a new one and got vapor so I think my OCD is just going nuts lol.

One does not notice it as much because the element is enclosed in a "secure" area,
but the SSV and DBV also show the physical signs of airflow against the hot element, in form of coloration and "glow" during the hit.
