Thanks again @Vitolo, @OF, @max, @Adobewan for the recommendations! Now that I'm biking often I plan on grabbing an Iolite for myself. Gonna add a long piece of tubing, throw in some bubble (thanks OF) and just sip and coast. :cool:

Also, any opinions on Iolite's butane brand? I came across it on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pure-Iolite...104?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2332c57690 They recommend using it with their vapes which means it's high quality..hopefully? It's cheaper than Vector too. From that link I posted it looks like it may just be rebranded Newport butane?

I would only use vector as that is what is manufacture recommended
but I have always wondered about Newport
Newport is cleaner I like that it is British not Korean
with running BHO with open ended tubes and a can vector use to be the bees knees a few years back now Newport has taken that spot
but have you ever done the good ole mirror test
side by side spraying Newport and vector onto a glass mirror vector will usually leave this chalky mysterious film behind while Newport evaporates with almost no traces left behind

I just had a conversation with Iolite.. in effort to help Resinberg.
Things have changed.
They said they now only recommend Iolite brand (who would have thought?)
They said after that, the only two are Colibri and Newport.
I questioned further.
She said Vector had changed over last year.
When I told her I had part of a case from 3 years ago of Vector... so my Vector was still good.
She said "No Comment"!
I am going to use up my case of Vector, but will consider moving on after it is gone.

Interesting.....and expected. They only recommend their brand. How refreshing.

The Vector thing is interesting. The last couple cans I got from Amazon are marked differently for sure. I think I'll use them in lighters and stuff and keep the couple old cans I've got for Iolite only use. Hopefully by the time they run out some objective reports will be available???

"No comment" meaning it probably never changed, how long have they had their own butane and where do they get their butane?

Unless some new butane powered vape comes out that gets great user reviews and sucks me in, and I end up loving it too, I don't expect to need to buy any more butane. I bought a large supply of Vector (to get a good unit price) back when the iolite was one of the few pocket portables available, and still have most of it. The only reason I can see for Vector to have lowered their quality is high demand. Are they cutting corners to keep up with buyer demand? It still says 5 times refined. Personally, I'm going to continue to recommend it until I see some user complaints.


Edit- I did see a negative user review on Amazon about the current version of Vector, so maybe the downgrade is justified. Newport is a little more expensive but still a good deal on Amazon. From a brief search the iolite brand seems too pricey vs. Newport.

I'm really leaning towards getting the Iolite. Should I avoid using Vector, and just pick up some Newport from Amazon? I don't want to gunk up my new Iolite with the Vector if they have changed their formula.

I use newport now, and am very happy.
I have 2 Iolites....
one is a 2 clicker.. and it now clicks on 1st click sometimes!
Newport!
They say Newport Colibri and Iolite brand

Ok Amazon, you are NOT making me happy at all today. I ordered a 3 pack of Newport butane so it would be here when my Iolite gets here. First, it doesn't qualify for Prime, and you charge me for shipping. Then it won't be delivered until June 17th?? Seriously? Now I need to go find some locally, and I have no idea where to start. :disgust:

I don't use an Iolite vape, but I do use their fuel with both my Lotus and my Hammer and have been very happy with it. It is a bit pricey, but it burns well and noticeably better than the crap I picked up at Walgreens.

I was just at Walgreen's with my husband and all they had was Ronson.

Thats the stuff I was referring to. I notice a little sputtering every so often with this stuff, but I burp it all out of my devices when I have an alternative and the Ronson is great to have in an emergency.

I'm going to look at local tobacco shops to see what they have. Right now, I have 6 cans of the Newport butane on the way. Three from Amazon, and 3 from the link Vitolo sent me. That should last me a good long time, I hope! :)
