Mine too.its a champ and a tasty conduction treat.my very first vape.

I have had to replace the lighter mechanism with the innards of a cheap barbecue lighter once.its back to firing first time now.eventually the crystal powered ignition may wear out on your iolite.Changing the ignition was a little fiddly but I managed to change it using as always some helpful guidance a little ways back on Here on the iolite thread.i remember it was the wire clip that confused me initially changing it out.what was it for etc.:)

I am a long way from my original home nowadays.
I'm delighted to see Irish companies doing so well and establishing themselves in the vaporizer market.

first the iolite and now the Alfa.:)

And it is a dandy.
So much technology now, and ....
"it keeps on hissing"!

Yup! It really saved me yesterday because I got a horrible wave of nausea in the car. So bad that I almost had to have hubby pull over. As soon as I started vaping with my Iolite, I got better immediately!

hey, so now that i have my new iolite, im forgetting something i had an issue with first time i had one. i could never figure out how long to fill it for? it just kinda sounds like it's still filling indefinitely

i mean should it take about a full minute without sounding full from empty?

forgot what a great tasting slow roaster this is. the ultimate sippy vape!

You can't tell by sound. Or time. Even including temperature.

Do it by weight. Like Propane tanks do. You have to run yours all the way down to get the 'empty weight'. IIRC it covers several grams range on the ones I have. The tank will hold a bit over 3.1 grams of 'gas' (as a liquid), I settle for fills close to 3 grams over 'dry weight'.

FWIW I find I can comfortably do two loads, with two sessions each on that much gas. 3rd time I fill the bowl, I load gas.

Ever since I got my v2 I've been shocked. There's no way I would have gotten rid of my v1 if it worked like this!

I got rid of my v1 because it only worked 1/3 of the time and was super temperamental, but the v2 I picked up a little before black friday has been truly incredible.

The hissing and bursts of warm air from the heater are very comforting and I enjoy it a ton. It's found its new place as my favorite pre-bed vape. If you let it cook for about as long as you let a solo sit to heat soak, taking long slow draws produces truly impressive amounts of excellent vapor.

The chamber is a lot bigger than I remember too. I can pack it a little over halfway full and sip on that for a solid ~20 minutes and get quite medicated.

This has to be what the iolite always should have been - it's definitely at least now with the v2 everything I wanted it to be when I got my first one so many years ago!

If I ever want to have a portable session for just one, maybe two loads I might even grab it over the Air or solo!

Does anybody know offhand the dimensions of the iolite tubes that go together in the mouthpiece

I'm almost considering having Eds TNT make me a wooden replacement for this part.

Sick! This thing hits hard as fuck. I take back all the crap I talked on the iolite in the last couple years. Thing kicks ass and really pushes some nice vapor. I get less visible vapor from the io than my others but there is no comparison to the effects!!!!

I feel the same about my wispr, so simple to use and i've never had a problem. Always gets the job done very well for me whether sitting back sipping a full load for a half hour or doing a quick pick me up. It'll always have my respect. They just plain work for me.

I probably shouldn't bring this up, but if you can get Bubble Hash you should.......

Around here you can get 'reasonably good' (say 60%) bubble for ten or a bit more a gram from time to time. I tend to stock up for the Iolite. Normally I load about .15 grams of top shelf (say 18%) bud (a bit under 30mg of THC). If, however, I load .1 and about .05 or a mite more of bubble (as I typically do) that nearly doubles the potency of the load......which due to the nature of the bubble seems to go and go and go.

I usually run two sessions per load, two loads (four sessions) on just under 3 grams of gas. That is I fill the tank every second load.

Neat machine, I just wish it was a bit easier to hang onto when hot. Grabbing it wrong sure gets your attention fast......

bubble rarely shows up in my area but that's definitely good to know.

beautiful stem @Vicki and i hope to have a similar one soon :)

i'm really happy to have it for the northern winter months, IMO. the last few days i've been really appreciating the bursts of warm air as it heats. the best hand warmer i could ever ask for, personally!

I honestly prefer the vapor quality of the iolite v2 to all my other portables at this point in time and only regret not getting back on the iolite train in time to find out about the 2 for 1 deal.

Course it's not the best for being in a poorly ventilated area because you'd make it reek of butane trying to get it heated, but it's not that bad a problem :)

I don't treat it like my other portables because it's more of a time commitment than others and doesn't stop exactly when you shut it off, but it's a delight to use as a comfort vape for a nice long session :)

Hey, i've been away from home since I got my iolite and took it out with me, so I don't have any way to measure my device. But, can anyone let me know a ballpark amount of time it takes to fill the butane chamber? I know i must be trying to fill it for way too long, but i just have been letting it overfill a bit (probably) and then air out for a few minutes and then leave the switch activated for about 15 seconds before operation, but i'd like to (probably) waste less butane until I get home with my scale :)

The Air is nice and the Solo is nice and the Nano rocks but something about that Iolite vapor!

edit: Had to specify the butane chamber is the one i was referring to

Not possible. It varies hugely with conditions. From a few seconds to several tries as you'll see when you weigh it. Until then temperature (therefore pressure) in the can and the Iolite, how much is vented off, how full it was to start with, position, settling of the vapor in the batting in the tank (AKA 'vapor lock') and other factors can easily effect the time to a large degree (either way).

Until you can get to a scale I suggest you go for a short refill more often? Or except the extra gas use and hope for the best? Once you get the air out, it should be very easy to get enough in for the next session or two.

Regards.

Problem solved.
I made a post on a howto as well as a look inside the unit here.

Just throwing this out there in case you get too frustrated...:science:

hey that mouthpiece looks amazing, is it any better than stock mouthpiece? where can I get one?

I have had this vape for couple months.. its my first. Would love to make it better if I can! Should I pick up the "Vapor Optimiser"

Also, when I do it, I get 0 clouds, is that normal?

And 1 last thing if anyone can help me out, but the bowl with the mouthpiece doesnt slide all the way in, it sticks out a little bit, is it defective? I cant get it to slide all the way in... even with an empty bowl.

It's from an older type atomizer. It's made of rubber of sorts. The taste wasn't bad when I first used it. However, I took the IO out from storage the other night just to give a whirl. It tasted terrible. Really could taste the rubber taste. Needless to say it has been taking off and throw out. Have lots of stock stems so not worried.

I have an optomizer but only used for a short time. Been so long I can't remember why. I don't think it made much difference for me..?

Also remember having to play to get in all the way. Something wasn't right but again can't remember what. Best is to take the upper stem apart separating the bowl, stem and mid section. I'm thinking the bowl had movement where it wasn't suppose to. Seem to remember I used a washer to correct and found later not really needed. Likely see what's up once apart.

Have fun and good luck,

I have an optimizer, but I've never used it. I should try it at least once, just to say I did.
