Hey all, been reading FC for a while now but finally decided it was time to register and contribute. I've had the Iolite for roughly a month and I've got nothing but nice things to say. If you know what to expect from this little wonder you will love it.
The Iolite is my first vape. In the past I've tried a Volcano, an Extreme-Q, and a Purple Days. I've only used them with friends and have never been what you'd call a "regular user" of any vaporizer. That said if you expect the Iolite to take the place of a heavier-duty home vape you're going to be disappointed. The chick at my head shop said she'd buy an Iolite over a Volcano because you can use it anywhere, and that really sums up what you need to ask yourself if you're considering one of these. Personally I love the Iolite because I'm a student. I spend a lot of time travelling, staying at my girlfriend's house or staying at my parent's place, and I can toss this thing in my bag with a grinder full of herb and a full tank of butane and I'm ready to go for the night, weekend, whatever. No you don't get the same draws as you would get from a larger vape, and if you do a lot of your best work sitting in the same room then you're going to get more value dropping the few extra bucks on an extreme (or spending the same on a PD
).
The experience using the Iolite is awesome. You can fire it up wherever, you can pack it before you go out, it's ridiculously inconspicuous (especially if you use the genius idea I read about dropping it in a soda cup at the movie theatre and running the whip extension). A well packed bowl will get you stoned, two people fairly high, and three a nice buzz. I wouldn't share with more than that but it's no tougher to re-pack than a pipe, so it while it's not as great for home sessions with buddies as a bigger vape it can be a decent substitute.
The Iolite just works for me because I would not get the same amount of use out of a home vape right now. If you already have a home solution and are looking for something portable and a little different, then you can't go wrong with this thing. If you're like me and you move around a lot then you'll probably get more out of it than a larger vape. And if you have the benefit of doing most of your getting high in the comfort of your living room, the Iolite is probably not for you.
Like I said I've been a proud owner for roughly a month, and I think I've gotten fairly good at using this thing so I can answer most questions about that. On the other hand I haven't had it long enough to comment on it's reliability, so we'll see how that goes as time goes on. For now, I can say that the Iolite fits perfectly with my lifestyle and vaping habits, and if you know what to expect when you pick it up, it can fit for you too.
